Interview with Gaara Ryusan

 Throwdown Fights:  Gaara, first off, welcome to the Bantamweight division of Throwdown Fights.  How do you feel about the competition?

Gaara Ryusan:  Thank you. The division is still young, and everyone is still trying to prove themselves.  There's been two champions so far, and both have been grapplers, I'm looking to change that.

TDF:  Mikhail Maeda recently won the title from Jamie Lawlor by using his superior BJJ.  If you're able to become a top contender, do you think you could handle a Brown Belt?

Ryusan:  He has the better ground game, that's for sure.  He needs to get in close to take me down though, and he's not going to like that.  I've been training my sprawl, and I'm the best striker in the division.

TDF:  That's a pretty big claim for someone who hasn't fought yet, care to elaborate?

Ryusan:  The Bantamweight division is filled with wrestlers and BJJ practitioners.  I've been boxing for over a decade, and none of them have gone up against anything like that.  I'm going to overwhelm them.

TDF:  There is one other fighter in the division who prefers to keep it standing up, and that is 0-3 Jackie Lee.  Have you watched his fights to see where he went wrong?

Ryusan:  He's a Muay Thai fighter.  Nothing special, though he's the best at it in the division.  I'm simply a better athlete than he is.  I'm faster, stronger, and all around better.  If he is the best striker they've faced, they're in trouble up against me.  Two of his fights went the distance, and the other ended in the third round, so that tells you they struggled.  I'll be champ soon enough.

TDF:  We look forward to seeing you step inside the cage Gaara,  Any last words?

Ryusan:  I want to fight.  Put me on the card for this Saturday and I guarantee you that not only will I be walking away with the win, but with the KO of the Night as well.
