 BFT 210 Review

Heavyweight - Undefeated Frank Stevens submits One time SEFC title challenger "Fisty" Matt Fistface by armbar at 53 seconds in the first round.

A groin shot from Fistface seemed to really have fired up Stevens. He brought things to the mat A.S.A.P. and then went right for an armbar from the gaurd. One and done for Stevens to remain undefeated.

What's next for Stevens? Shogun BDown comes to mind. He could go against another undefeated Frank, Frank Castle. Joe Kimura would really give him a workout.

Light Heavyweight -  Former BFT Heavyweight Champ, Hall of Famer Jake The Snake knocked out the former Light Heavyweight Title Challenger with 10 BFT of the Night awards Jakub "Handvice" Kochanowski via strikes at 4:46 in round 1.

Kochanowski wanted to take advantage of the oppurtunity put before him immediately and brought the fight to the mat. He tried to get working on something, but nothing came of it and the two stood right back up. At the distance Jakub was able to counter The Snake pretty well. But then Jake was able to clinch things up and brough some pain to Jakub. He was able to land his strikes almost at will and Kochanowski did not have much to respond with. Kochanowski was able to break free from the clinch eventually, but a solid jab soon after seemed to break his nose. He was getting tagged by Snake and was rocked by a solid hook. Jake saw that and brought the fight back into the clinch . There he was able to land his strong dirty boxing skills until an uppercut sent him down for good.

What's next for the Hall of Famer? Light Heavyweight seems pretty booked up at the moment, save John Wain, who could provide an interesting fight IF he could get it to the ground, but Jakub showed that's not an easy feat. He could attempt another title run, seeing as Dallas MacMillan is open, but I would advise against that. Heavyweight has a few welcoming faces, including Alistair Overeem and Pete Tippin.

Co-Main - Heavyweight - Former Light Heavyweight champion of TFC and TCA and TCA Hall of Famer Diziz Sparta Unanimous Decisioned Former Heavyweight Challenger and 5 time BFT of the Night award winner "Overeem" Jason Hannibal

At the distance, Hannibal seemed to try to get something off, but Sparta always seemed to be on the landing end of each punch. And if that wasn't enough, Sparta was able to land 3 takedowns in the first round alone. The second round had a little bit of clinch action thrown into the mix, where the two seemed more evenly matched, but Sparta was able to disengage fairly quickly. Sparta as able to take the fight down once more, and even though there was a solid triangle scare for a second, Sparta was incontroll on the ground for the most part. The final round had a little more clinch action, where Sparta was able to slice open Hannibal with a fantastic elbow, and Hannibal just seemed to have nothing in him to respond. Until out of the blue, Hannibal was able to land a HUGE head kick that sent Sparta down to the mat. Sparta was a bloody mess and could barely hold his own on the feet. Hannibal couldn't get to him quick enough and Sparta was able to hang in there. A few more exchanges rounded out the fight and Sparta was able to hobble away with the dominant decision victory.

What's next for the 51-fight vet "Leonidas"? Rumor has it that there is a bout with the Champ, Hagen Germanicus, in the works. And if that falls through, there's always a rematch with Tippin.

Main Event - Lightweight - 5 time winner of 'Of the Night' awards Malaipet "The Diamond" Sasiprapa Unanimous Decisioned two time former BFT Lightweight Title Challenger and 8 time 'Of the Night' award winner "Stoneface" Samuel Vimes

The first round bell rang, and the fighters took their positions. The two of them exchanged at will, but it was Sasiprapa who seemed to be the more agressive of the two. Vimes was able to push out a few solid combinations, but Sasiprapa was in control for that first round. The second round got underway, and Vimes seemed to have a fire lit under him. He was throwing more and landing more. He was looking pretty well until he moved the fight into the clinch. Vimes was able to start off alright in the clinch, but Sasiprapa was able to really pick up the pace once he began to lean on the cage. He was just all over Vimes and landing his shots until the ref broke them up at the end of the round. Sasaiprapa must have a good corner. They saw his success in the clinch in the second round and sent him out there to get right back into it in the third round. And there was just nothing good there for Vimes. You could tell that he was getting tired, but there was nothing he could do with Sasiprapa staying all over him. There wasn't a thing that he could have done to get Sasiprapa off of him. He was able to make it to the end of the round, but Malaipet was able to walk away with all three rounds in the eyes of the judges.

What's next for Malaipet? He's already booked to fight Carlos Silva at BFT 214 on June 23. See you there!
