Team Thomas Fight Club brings us Corleone vs Chavez II bolstering 10 fights to start August out with a bang! Offering my unbiased pick'em I cant wait to see what will happen!
The Co-Main event is a full course meal itself where we have two up and coming Lightweight fighters Looking to move one step closer to a title fight.
We have Leg “The Chin” Sweeperton taking on “The Raging Jew” Larry David
The last time we saw The Chin, he took quite a few on the chin including one massive hook from Colin Hendry that sent him into hibernation like a laptop that has been disconnected from its charger for too long. The Chin looked disconnected from the start as he was unable to land anything and was finished fairly early. This will be his third fight after working his way down to 155lbs but he has been extremely impressive throughout his career especially when taking the fight to the ground which is a skill he is very good at. 17 of his 22 wins have come by submission and at times it seems as if its impossible to stay away from him.
The Raging Jew also took a loss but by the way of Ground and Pound coming from Sebastien Linne. He was not able to do much damage to Linne during the fight but it is notable that he was able to continually improve position before running into the unfortunate loose elbows and fists from Linne. Larry David has shown the ability to win by KO frequently and in many different ways which will help him against The Chin. He will look to keep this fight standing to avoid a The Chin's BJJ which will make for a great fight.
My Prediction: We might be CurbING Our Enthusiasm on the Chin as Larry David takes this victory standing by KO(Punches)
The moment we have been waiting for is at hand!!! Hugo Chavez and Sonny Corleone Bout II will commence as Both fighters are coming off 2 wins each. The Comeback Kid knocked out Busta Rhymes with a spinning backfist and Deano Clavet with a huge punch to the dome both being KO's of the night to show that he is hungry for the rematch and shot at the belt held by Sonny Corleone.
Corleone Defeated Yerface by Decision in which he dominated the first and final rounds and defended his belt against Graham Bowtie by defacing him with a skull crushing kick and a barrage of punches grabbing the attention of fight fans all over.
In their first fight they spent a majority of the short stint in a clinch dominated by Corleone. Despite the great condition of Chavez he looked extremely tired after the second clinch. We were just unable to see enough of this fight because it ended so quickly. It could be early promotion for this fight but I expect a 3rd fight after Saturday. This rivalry seems to be growing and as one fighter takes the lead, you always have “The Comeback Kid” to balance it out. I expect a 3rd round KO from Hugo Chavez to take the title out of the hands of Sonny Corleone.
