My take on Ascension Anniversary

Editorial by Speedy Gonzaitev

First off, I want to congratulate Josh on this momentous card and for being a lot tougher than me when it came to running orgs as i quick after 6 months to almost certainly never return to running them. Josh your a great guy, a great org owner and a pretty good manager to boot. I am privileged to have the ability to call you my friend. I may not have the name recognition when it comes to writing as some other managers but I do my fair share of work and I will share my take on this momentous moment, journey and event.

Its early in the morning on a Saturday in mid February outside of Spetznaz Training Center, the secretive gym and headquarters for the recently displaced crazy Russian Alexi Zaitev. Mr. Zaitev has been a somewhat respected member of the Tycoon community for almost 2 years now with that day being in early June. For roughly a year of that time, he has become good friends with many org owners though arguably the best relationship that he has developed is with Josh aka Skinny Vince. Mr. Zaitev had the privilege of welcoming him into the then International Fight Clan early last year and was a good soundboard for Josh as he first entered the organization ownership standpoint. While it was very tough sledding in the early going, Josh's flair for business became evident with numerous mergers he pulled off with organizations in Los Angeles slowly becoming the dominant org in the city. Towards the end of the year, Josh chose to leave IFC for another alliance but there were no hard feelings between either of us. Today, we are hear to get his take on how much things have changed in the last year and his own take on how things have been. As we approach the gym, Mr. Zaitev is standing outside the gym ushering in Zhukov, Freedman, O Neill, Chavez and Ventura into the gym in order to get on with his business. Mr Zaitev leans against the door to his gym as he pulls a silver flask out of the pocket of his trench coat and takes a small drag as his bearskin hat tilts forward over his eyes as I, Rambling Red Stevenson approach.

Red: Good morning Mr. Zaitev! How are you doing today? Was the move to New York alright after all that time in St Pete?

Alexi: Eh, I am no one important, please just call me Alexi. I am doing well, still trying to get used to all this traffic you Americans have here, it is something that takes some getting used to eh?

Red: True that, Mr. Za-Alexi excuse but with the one year anniversary card fast approach for your good friend and part time mentor Josh aka Skinny Vince, what is your opinion on this huge rise to the top of the tycoonoverse?

Alexi: Has it already been a year? It feels like just yesterday he was getting his start in the org business from an ownership stand point but he spent quite some time working behind the scenes at the now defunct Blitz Hilo. But its been a hell of a ride to watch and I am glad to see my friend doing well for himself. Wish I could say the same.

Red: Very true, is it true that you have never fought in Ascension despite your close relationship with Josh?

Alexi: Yes that is quite true but when your fighters suck there isn't much you can do. However, Ascension is on my shortlist of orgs to fight for before I quit the tycoonoverse or Mike closes the game.

Red: Can you give us a run down on the last year given how far this organization has come?

Alexi: As Josh previously stated, when he got the org it was multi infested and virtually had no fighters left on the roster and slowly he built up his roster through skillful mergers, signings and running top notch events. With some help from friends, Josh quickly took over LA and added a feeder org to his group called Ascension Rising run by Daemon Rebel, a share ex alliance mate for the two of us. I've been approached many times by both guys to join them of staff but I personally swore that I will never do anything with organization running ever again, once was enough.

Red: So its safe to assume you genuinely like and respect Josh?

Alexi: I mention him in the same breath as far as guys I respect as Lord Rayden, Richard Davenport, Avon Barksdale, Franky Fin and others. Out of those I am probably closest to Josh because I have spent a lot of time with him since we shared an alliance for a good 6 months before we parted ways.

Red: What are your expectations for this card?

Alexi: With the way things are going with Blitz orgs of late, I would be surprised if this event didn't break the 600 barrier and come close to the PPV buys record set just a few weeks ago. Maybe if I'm lucky I can get someone free to be on the card.

Red: Thank you for your time Alexi, we will be back later for part 2 of our exclusive interview that will come out as the card begins to finalize. Thank you again for tuning in as that is all the time we have today. This is your host, Rambling Red Stevenson signing off!
