AMS 13

Good Morning Amsterdam,

First up, the TWGC (Grappling only competition) is now open for entry so anyone who wants to be made available for entry just let me know and I'll tick the box to allow you to enter.

After the success of the last event I've booked our first show in a 2000 seater for a month from now, so let's try and keep this hype train rolling.  Also, if we keep improving then I'm going to set up a gym for Org members.  The idea would be to make an elite level gym using Org profits to keep the price down so our fighters can get a better level of training.  Not sure when that'll be happening but I'm looking into it.

Onto the fights

Kid Bengala (0-1) Vs Judas Lullaby (0-1)

Dan Johnson (2-3) Vs Leif Mortensen (5-1)

Rafael Gaucho (2-1) Vs Jon Nix (4-4)

Hector Hallow (1-0) Vs Hakon Hakonda (3-2)

Gotyf Tymanok (3-1) Vs Ricky Quispel (2-2)

Hans G Peak (1-1) Vs George "Chopper" Rohan (4-1)

The former champion has got his work cut out for him going into his first fight after being soundly knocked out in the first round of his last fight.  Peak probably has the best boxing in the organisation and is a former KT pro with the wrestling required to back up his outstanding stand up; very strong and a cardio machine, Hans pushes a high pace for three rounds.  Rohan is going to be outsized and out muscled, but if he can find a way to force this one to the floor then he should have a clear advantage in the submission game.  This is the first MMA outing for Peak and he'll be up against a more experienced fighter in Rohan, but if he can keep this one on the feet then expect his boxing to take over.

Tim "Brutal" Borowski (1-1) Vs Damian "Thorn" Rogalewski (6-4)

Here we have a great match up between two top level contenders in the middleweight division.  The Brutal Borowski is coming off a great finish in his last fight, putting on a dirty boxing, clinch clinic in the first before stopping his opponent with heavy hands.  However, Rogalewski promises to be a thorn in his side.  A submission specialist with an aggressive wrestling game to allow him to put the fight on the matt where he can attack.  Borowski is no slouch in the wrestling department and could be difficult to take down, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Rogalewski pull guard if Borowski is doing any damage in the clinch.  Both fighters have power, both are well versed in every aspect of the game and both guys have a way to win this fight.  I expect a very competitive and entertaining war.

Jayceon "The Game" Taylor (3-1) Vs Kurt Averson (4-0)

In our co-main event of the evening we will be crowning a new Light Heavy Weight Champion.  When our former champion defaulted his title, there was no question which two fighters would get to duke it out for the title.  These are the two most successful and dangerous guys in the division and we can't wait to see who comes out on top.  The Game has shown true grit and determination in his three straight victories; after getting beat up in the first round of his last fight and came out in the second to finish off of his back with an excellent triangle choke.  But he's not going to want to count on pulling something like that off against Averson who boasts a BJJ brown belt and a perfect 4 and 0, with all victories coming by way of submission.  Taylor has heavy hand and usually likes to throw without fear of being put on his back where he has a very active guard, but against Averson he's going to need to be very careful as one mistake could see this fight all over.

Magnus Schilk (6-0) Vs Jordan ValKov (2-1)

The main event sees the middleweight strap on the line as Shilk and ValKov duke it out.  This is a really interesting matchup and looks like being an instant classic.  Shilk has a perfect 6 and 0 with 4 of his wins coming by way of stoppage.  A dangerous striker with very good hands and a willingness to throw head kicks in high volume.  To counter this Valkov brings a viciously aggressive Muay Thai clinch game and the wrestling to keep the fight exactly where he wants it.  In his last fight he managed to land almost 100 brutal knees and elbows before his decimated opponent tapped out to strikes.  I'm expecting this one to get bloody with neither man looking to take this to the floor.  Shilk should have the advantage in the open field but if he can't dominate the range then expect Valkov to close in and make his life miserable.

That's all folks.
