 BFT 230 Review

Light Heavyweight - Recent BFT acquisition Kova "the Tank" Tangis knocked out long time BFT vet "Vain" John Wain in his sophmore outting with Strikes at 2:40 in round 2.

Tangis with the clinch and break clinch strategy until Wain scores a takedown. Wain is able to hold him down for most of the round and slipping in a few shots between submission attempts, before Tangis throws him off and gets back up. Tangis was able to keep on him until the end of the round with the striking, definately landing some hurtful shots. Tangis started the second round with a solid two punch combo that cut open Wain. Tangis kept it on him on the feet and suprised him with a takedown. He stood things back up soon after. The strikes he was throwing were really hurting. And Wain's face showed it after a painful high kick. An overhand right sent him to the mats, and the ref jumped right in there.

What's next for Tangis? Not sure. Maybe the winner of Wolf West - Imran Khan, or Jakub Kochanowski - Harvey 2Face.

Welterweight - Former BFC Welterweight Champ and Former Middleweight BFT champ Akihito "Rikiya" Tatsuhiko Jr. submitted 38-fight vet Iqbad "Mamute" Al Mamood with an anaconda choke at 2:55 in the very first round.

Al Mamood was getting the better of the striking early He landed a couple of nice shots that cut open Tatsuhiko early. Tatsuhiko brought Al Mamood in close, then took him to the mats. He landed in a nice side control position before getting mount. He worked hard from the mound and went from an arm triangle into an anaconda. Al Mamood refused to tap and took a nap instead. Gotta tap when someone catches ya.

What's next for Akihito? He could definately challenge the champ next. Otherwise... Georges St Pierre or Damian Nitschke?

Welterweight - Getting his fourth bonus in his last 3 victories Hussak "Pride of house" Claw submitted The former Right Pound Middleweight Champion and Nomsville Native "Nom" Nom Nomm with an armbar at 2:48 in round 3.

In the first round, Claw was looking good. He got a takedown early and was able to hold him down while keeping busy. Nomm was able to get things up to the feet soon after, but Claw dragged it right back to the mats. He kept him down until the end of the round and was able to walk away happily the victor. In the second round, Nomm was able to keep it standing and really demonstrated his striking ability. He was throwing every thing he could and cut Claw bad with a right hook. Claw was taking everything that Nomm was throwing at him, but happily wouldn't be the word I would use to describe his reaction to them. Nomm stayed on top of him and continued his onslaught until the round ended. Claw's cornere had enough of that and told him to take the third to the mats immediately. That's exactly what he did. Although Nomm was able to stand it again, he wasn't content with just that. Nomm dove in for a takedown of his own. He was hoping to work over Claw, but Claw was able to slap on a triangle. It didn't work out,  but he kept on it and was able to transition to an armbar. Nomm tried to get out of there, but it was too much from Claw.

What's next for Claw? I'd like to see him face either Renee Mondeux or Igor Wietrzny.

Co-Main - Lightweight - The fighter with the most BFT fights to date Suchart "Fishbowl" Chaowanungkarn knocked out Fourty-fight fight vet Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao with strikes at 1:34 in the first round.

The two men were really trading it up. Pacquiao was throwin fast hands and "Fishbowl" was kicking like heck. Really, it was the kicks that made more of an inpact. The first head kick that landed cut open Pacquiao, the second one knocked him down, and the final one knocked him out. Very Nice.

What's next for "Fishbowl"? There are so many fights out there for him, it's not even funny. Right now, a rematch with Vimes seems plausible. I also like Chaowanungkarn fighting someone he hasn't previously faced. Say... Spar Bjj?

Main Event - Light Heavyweight - 5 time BFT of the Night award winner "Mr." Bones Jones KO'ed the BFT Hall of Famer Jake the Snake at 24 seconds in the first round.

Not a lot to say about this one. Jones just had The Snake's number. It took a whole 5 shots to to put Jake away, culminating in a stiff jab that put him down.

What's nect for Bones? A few rounds with either Trinidad Suarez or Mauricio Rua sound like a blast to me.
