Pasi Nurminen  v Julian Thomas

Pasi Nurminen has a world of talent, but he has no heart when he fights.  He is 15-11-2 in his career and he's been TKO'ed 8 times.  Nurminen doesn't have a lot of power and he's average everywhere although he can be decent in the clinch.  Julian Thomas will make his NGF debut in this one and he enters 3-0 in his career he has shown fantastic defense, solid stand up and excellent Muay Thai skills so far.  Thomas should have a easy time in his first NGF fight.

Tony Chu v Atonal Trujillo

Tony Chu comes in winner of his last fight, but 1-2 over his last 3.  Chu seems to have talent and with 4 (T)KO victories out of his 5, he seems to have finishing talent, but he is just 5-4 in his career.  He often sits back, and uses a counter style and right now his defense hasn't been great, so he gets outstruck and loses in the judges eyes.  Atonal Trujillo is making his NGF debut in this one, okay, debut as Atonal Trujillo, he used to be called John Keel.  Trujillo is an aggressive fighter, good power and he likes to stay at kick boxing length if he can.  He has solid defense, but he isn't much if on the ground.  This should be a good fight, I think this will go the distance if Chu can get inside and use his clinch skills.

Bowman Rook v Randall Cunningham

This should be a very entertaining fight between the #12 ranked middleweight Rook and #15 ranked Cunningham.  Rook has a slight problem with his heart as he's been (T)KO'ed a bit too easily, but he is a very good fighter.  He has average defense, but he is solid offensively in all areas.  Cunningham has just had no luck over his last 4 fights and is 0-4 to show for it, but he has 3 straight decision losses.  Cunningham is quick and he likes to use his dangerous kicking to chop at legs and then KO an opponent with a head kick.  He has good striking defense and ground defense, but he is not a ground fighter.  I like Cunningham in this one, I think he will be able to land a head kick or two and that's all he'll need.

Joe Laynpray v Jeff Glover

Joe Laynpray has said that this will be his last fight.  Laynpray hasn't found much success over his last 7 fights going 2-5.  Laynpray is a pure wrestler, he spends the entire fight shooting for take downs and if he gets one, he just overwhelms his opponents with ground strikes, a few problems, he's nothing standing or in the clinch, and he's just an average wrestler.  Jeff Glover will try and move to 6-2 in the NGF and possibly move inside the top 15 with a win.  So far Glover has shown he really needs to work on his striking defense as he gets hit far too often, and for being a wrestler, he's shown no ground striking defense either.  Glover will get a take down where he usually looks for subminssions as he has 4 submission wins.  I feel Glover has the talent to win this, but Laynpray will be able to fight in an area of strenght, this will be interesting.

Marcos Silva v Rasva Jorma

This is a matchup of two guys who are really struggling right now.  Marcos Silva was once a #1 contender and he was in a title fight, but now that seems like years away after going 1-3 over his last 4 fights.  Silva is solid everywhere, but his defense isn't good and he can be out struck most of the time.  He is best on the ground and he does have different weapons he can use there.  Rasva Jorma has had no success in the NGF and when I say none, I mean 0-2 and he is now 0-4 over his last 4 fights.  Jorma is a solid stand up fighter, he has been good in the clinch and his striking defense has been solid.  He has been terrible on the mat and he must avoid that at all costs, this is a bad matchup for Jorma.

Mikhail Rakhmanov v Kaito Rin

A fantastic matchup between the #3 ranked Mikhail Rakhmanov vs the #4 ranked Katio Rin, one that could determin the next #1 contender.  Rakhmanov is rolling right now, winning his last 3 fights, but this is a huge step up in his competition.  Rakhmanov is a very good counter striker, he has good defense and he uses that to make opponents miss which he follows with good striking or clinching.  Rakhmanov has also done a fair job on the ground where he is a very active fighter.  Kaito Rin keeps bouncing around at that top 5 spot and will look to string together some wins to get back into a title shot and to get his belt back.  Rin is very aggressive, he will stand and bang and then look for a take down so he can use his strong ground skills.  He has shown good striking defense, but he has no power, so he'll look to grind wins out.

Michael Fybra v Musashi Kato

A fantastic #1 contender fight here between #5 Michael Fybra and #7 Musashi Kato.  Fybra is 4-1 over his last 5 fights and he will be looking to move into a title fight with a win in this one.  Fybra is quick and he has a deadly weapon, that's his kicking.  Fybra will kick all fight long and he usually concentrates on legs of his opponents.  Fybra has solid striking defense and he's always the quicker fighter since his opponents can hardly walk during their fights.  Kato is simply at the top of his game right now having won 6 straight fights.  Kato doesn't have big power, but he's very smart and will take a fight to where ever it has to go and he's solid in all areas.  He can be worked over a bit in the clinch, but he is strong enough to be able to escape.  On the mat he can be very scary, but he can, at times, be overwhelmed, he has 3 submission wins and 3 submission loses.

Benjamin Belleville v Henrik Torhammer

This is one great looking fight between two very talented, future stars.  Benjamin Belleville is 2-0 in the NGF, but he will get a monster for his next test.  Belleville has shown average stand up with average striking defense, but he's shown a great ability to be able to hurt his opponents.  He will take a fight to the ground where he's strong, but hasn't been overwhelming.  Henrik Torhammer is a big, strong guy who can hurt his opponents with either hand.  He has solid striking defense, but very little take down defense.  He can be overwhelming on his feet and he's strong enough that he has done a nice job of ground defense and transition skills, that makes him very scary.  This one should be very fun to see how these two try and figure each other out.

Karol Cropp v Rinky Spider

A super fight right here in the NGF!  This will be a non title fight between Karol Cropp and Rinky Spider.  Cropp is 15-3 in his career with 11 finishes, 7 (T)KO's and 4 submissions.  Is a big puncher with sensational wrestling skills and a black belt, so he is scary and dangerous where ever the fight is.  He has shown solid defense skills and a very good chin.  Rinky Spider is the current super heavyweight champion, but he'll look to put that on the line after this fight.  Spider is 7-1 over his last 8 fights and he's just been a wrecking machine.  Spider is one of the most creative, fun fighters to watch as he'll usually try every trick in the book in his fights.  Spider has the tools in all areas, but he is excellent at escaping and getting back to his feet so he hasn't fought on the ground much.  His real skill comes with just his power and his ability to cut and rock his opponents which has helped him get many quick (T)KO wins.
