Good afternoon, and welcome back to the Siberian Fight League Smack Talk Thread. We are here today with another preview for an amazingly stacked card, November 1 at The Kazan Sambo Center:
SFL 62: MCTEARSON vs SILVA
145 lb- DANNY "DIE LIKE A ROCKSTAR" BROWN (12-7)(4-1 SFL) vs "NO REMORSE" MORTEN PAULSEN (11-6)(1-0 SFL) Brown had a previous undefeated run at SFL, but left to pursue other interests like drinking and drug abuse. He was welcomed back to a TKO loss at the hands of Lithe Tarzan. Primarily a wrestler, Brown has decent hands as well. He will face terrifying striker Morten Paulsen, who has won his last four fights via TKO. An expert striker, Paulsen has nine wins by TKO and three KO of the Night awards.
170 lb- "THE GRIM" ANTON ZEMAN (6-4)(0-2 SFL) vs WALT DISNEY (1-0) Zeman will welcome Disney to the SFL in the second match of the evening. Formerly known as Chris Matthews, Zeman is the former Dominance NY Welterweight Champion, with five of six wins by TKO. He is currently riding a three fight losing streak and looks to turn it around against the newcomer. Disney brutalized his first opponent in the clinch. Look for him to try more of the same against Zeman.
265 lb- PHILLIP "PIP" PIRRUP (8-6-1)(2-3 SFL) vs RAMZES TUTTANHAMON (6-1)(0-1 SFL) "Pip" is a grappler who has been caught with his hands down and his gas tank empty, nonetheless he has kept himself viable with top-notch submission skills. He will take on Tuttanhamon, who was undefeated with six submission victories before losing to Batshit Datsik in his SFL debut (a match he was winning before inexplicably standing up). Look for a grappling clinic in this one.
265+ lb- ALEXANDER "THE STALKER" TARKOVSKY (3-0) vs RAGNAR THLEKBUIDI (6-2)(1-1 SFL) The Stalker makes his SFL debut against Thlekbuidi. Tarkovsky is a boxer, but he has been taken down three times and won three fights by submission. However, Ragnar has a BJJ brown belt, solid wrestling credentials, and all six of his wins are by submission. It will be interesting to see if Tarkovsky can utilize the same strategy he has used previously against a superior grappler.
185 lb- BRYAN HABANA (7-1)(3-1 SFL) vs JAN WILCZY (6-4)(2-4 SFL) Habana is a TWGC Champion, a BJJ black belt, and a master of Muay Thai. He has shown great skills in every aspect off an MMA fight. He will take on Wilczy, who is also a world class Muay Thai competitor. Wilczy is a powerful striker with knockout power, but he will have his hands full in this one.
205 lb- "THE WORSHIPFUL MASTER" HUGUES DE PAYENS (5-1) vs GALDRA KIDDI (7-4)(1-1 SFL) De Payens, making his SFL debut, is a boxer who likes to soften his opponents up in the clinch. He takes on Galdra Kiddi, a dangerous Muay Thai fighter who has shown off his own wicked clinch skills in the past. Look for an aggressive, up-close-and-personal fight between these two.
205 lb- KALLE "JÄÄTÄVÄ" NATSISIWA (10-7)(7-6 SFL) vs JEROME LE BANNER (8-5) Le Banner will be welcomed to SFL by one of the best boxers in the light heavyweight division, Kalle Natsisiwa. Kalle has competed for the LHW Title in two failed attempts against Lee Murray, and is looking to mount another title run starting with Le Banner. Le Banner is also a boxer with some wrestling chops, and he has explosive power in his hands. I look for someone to get knocked out here.
170 lb- MANU TUILAGI (9-2)(5-2 SFL) vs ALEX "SYMTEX" MERCER (7-2)(3-1 SFL) Tuilagi suffered defeat for the first time in his last two matches against Okin Slavas. The former champ is a counter fighter and wrestler who has shown decent Muay Thai skills. He will look to start another run at the title against Mercer, whose only SFL loss comes at the hands of Tuilagi in a special one round, ten minute match. Mercer is a great striker with solid takedown defense, and looks to use these skills to send Tuilagi towards the bottom of the division.
205 lb- NOPPARAT SOMCHAIMY (10-1) vs ABE LINCOLN (9-5)(1-1 SFl) Somchaimy is the former RFC LHW Champion, an excellent striker with a mean clinch. He is insanely flexible, surviving several tightly locked submissions, and has eight wins by TKO. He will be welcomed in by Lincoln, who has eight TKOs of his own. Lincoln is a GnP artist who will look to grind out a victory against the former champion.
185 lb TITLE FIGHT MAIN EVENT- "RIP" RUFUS MCTEARSON (11-1)(6-0 SFL) vs KRONER SILVA (7-2) The Middleweight Champion, McTearson is on an eleven fight win streak and his fifth title defense. Training out of The Beast in NY, McTearson is a super aggressive boxer who hasn't lost since his first match. He will take on Kroner Silva, who is making his SFL debut in dramatic fashion. Fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Silva has incredible Muay Thai abilities and went 5-1 at GAMMA, his last organization. A counter fighter with six TKO victories, Silva is a patient fighter who picks up speed as the fight goes on. These two are both likely to keep it standing and look for the big KO finish.
