Another big event is coming up, and that is KFC 20: Striker vs Ducker, which features some key match-ups that could potentially determine the first challengers for a few of the belts. Taking a closer look is Ernie White.

Starting off our main card we have two new signees that are trying to snatch their first career victories as 205ers Erastes Fulmen (0-1 MMA, 0-0KFC) and Shooter McDoogle (0-1 MMA, 0-0 KFC) meet. This is a classic striker vs grappler match-up and McDoogle will look to use his wrestling ability to neutralize Fulmen’s boxing. Fulmen will enjoy both a height and size advantage in this fight, and, in my opinion, is a much better boxer than McDoogle is a wrestler. He should stay at range and land lots of jabs and straights. McDoogle needs to get this one to the mat quickly, or he will be in for a long night.

My pick? Erastes Fulmen via (T)KO, round 1.

This next fight is at featherweight, between two pro-debuting 18 year olds Kris Sabacajan and Joey Turnt. Both men are fairly equal in the boxing and wrestling departments, but Sabacajan will have a significant advantage with kicks and knees, while Turnt dwarfs his opponent’s jiu-jitsu credentials, matching his purple belt against Sabacajan’s white belt. Turnt wants to drag this one to the mat any way he can, even if it means pulling guard. Sabacajan should look to land some heavy leg kicks and knees to the body to slow his opponent down.

My pick? Joey Turnt via submission, round 2.

Now we have a couple of KFC vets squaring off in the welterweight division. Greg Golden (1-1 MMA, 1-1 KFC) looks to make it two in a row against Jaemin Jeong (1-1 MMA, 0-1 KFC). Golden is a Muay Thai striker who is coming off a lopsided decision win over Arturo Rocky. Jeong is a submission specialist who got off on the wrong foot in his KFC debut, where he suffered a disappointing TKO loss to Mike Peters. He won his first fight by pulling guard and subbing his opponent, and he should do just that if Golden clinches. Golden showed in his last fight that he has accurate kicks and loves to throw elbows. I think he can win if he just sticks with the kicks.

My pick? Greg Golden, via (T)KO, round 2.

Our co-main event features experienced KFC veteran Tyson Brown (3-2 MMA, 2-2 KFC) welcoming hot prospect Kenneth Wayne (3-0 MMA, 0-0 KFC) to the KFC. Brown recently stopped a two fight skid (both of which were FOTN) with a first round stoppage victory of Don Escalante. His opponent, Wayne, has spent just over three minutes inside the cage, dispatching each of his opponents by knockout or TKO. He has not yet faced a wrestler of Brown’s caliber, and it will be interesting to see if he can keep the fight on the feet. If so, he could possibly score a knockout, but if not, he is just as likely to be finished.

My pick? Kenneth Wayne via decision.

Neil Striker (4-0 MMA, 0-0 KFC) is another hot prospect debuting tonight, this time in the middleweight division against Donald Ducker (3-1 MMA, 3-1 KFC). Both these guys like to throw heavy leather, and they both have knockout power. One thing to note in this fight that may be a key factor is the fact that Ducker fought very recently and may still have some injuries/fatigue from that match come fight time. Due to that reason, I would be more inclined to bet on Striker for this one. Otherwise, this is a very close match-up. Both this fight and the co-main event could have title implications should the winner impress. The welterweight finals will be determined the day after this event, and the middleweight finals are one week after.

My pick? Neil Striker via (T)KO, round 2.
