 We are back at Heavyweight Prize fighting where our next upcoming fight card will be headlined by Goodnight Irene and Tom Cat. In our last event, I told you guys to look at the whole card because all the fights were interesting and im telling you now, this card is exactly the same way. Grammar Natzee came in 100lbs lighter than his foe Jeremy Jackson and was unable to do enough in the 3 minutes of the fight to prove to the judges he was worth the win, but, I could not comprehend why he would attempt to take the way bigger and stronger opponent down.
Seamus O' Donnell will take on Kazushi Sakuraba as a prelim bout, but this is not fight to sleep on. Kazushi will provide for us fans another situation where we will have 100lbs separating the two fighters. While Kazushi “The Gracie Hunter” has taken out NO Gracie named opponents he did win the last TWGC winning all 6 of his grappling matches. This will be a key factor into how he fights the bigger Seamus. He is a much better ground fighter and will no doubt want to get this fight to the ground and away from the Muay Thai skills that Seamus possesses but because he is smaller and the fact that O Donnell is also a wrestler leads me to believe that he is in for trouble in this match especially since O Donnell is looking to make up for his loss to Micheal Crichton.
Veldrane Sengir will get his chance to take on Sasha Grey as all the boys want to and he will come in to this fight with a 2 fight win streak and when he beat Bubba, he did it landing no strikes at all and only takedowns, yes I said it, he won a unanimous decision only using TAKEDOWNS. He defended takedowns extremely well in that fight also, only being brought down once, but he spent the majority of the fight in a dominant position which eventually scored him a victory. Of course he would love to keep the fight in a dominant position over Sasha Grey, but “The Sexy” has shown to be very skilled on the ground winning by Rear Naked Choke after scoring his only takedown from a clinch. I dont think Sasha will be able to get Veldrane to the ground in this fight so its hard to predict what might come of this fight, but if Veldrane takes another loss, I do not think his ego will ever recover, hes probably training in the stinkiest clothes possible as you read this.
Miami Vice, as I told you before is always a spectacle to see, of all the fighters one could desire to watch fight it is him that just might get the biggest draw for HWP in the long run. Everyone gathered around their soap boxes and prepared for the huge bout between Vice and Brian the Bomber King Just two weeks ago and it was back and forth nonstop action until there was no more time left for these guys to state their case, ending in a majority draw we just knew that this epic bookstory would not be complete without another battle. After King dominated round one, Vice came with a vengeance in round two and cut King's face before having an epic final round ending in a Draw. This fight was so much excitement from the crazed crowd before to the raucous fans who didnt want to go home afterwards that I dont see how HWP couldnt possibly set this fight up under championship rules with 5 rounds for more action. Brian, the Bomber is really looking to give Vice his first loss in his career before he rides off into the sunset, Vice of course wants his record to stay clean as he locks a guillotine grip onto more hype and popularity ratings. I have a feeling this wont be the last time these two guys battle it out.
In the main event Friday night we will gladly be touting the 6 fight win streaking 283lb Kickboxer, Goodnight Irene as he will square off with Tom “Horror” Cat who will be looking to prove that his 3 win streak is real and not a fixture of our imagination. I only say it that way because a guy that just turned 31 usually doesnt have 20 losses and if they do they CERTAINLY dont usually have a win streak or many wins at all. In fact with a 24-20 record, im shocked they even let this bum into a cage. Thankfully for him I believe he holds a slight advantage in this fight because hes a boxer and a ground fighter. Irene is very one dimensional, if he cant defeat you with his Muay Thai, well then he just cant beat you. Miraculously he has never lost a fight by submission. Tom Cat has been preparing for this fight for a long time and wants to make his fight team proud so he wont be fired and find himself sleeping next to a shopping cart. If Irene doesnt land one of his huge Bigfoot Silva finishing kicks, I see the fight teetering massively in Tom Horror's direction and if he can avoid the clinch and take it to the ground. I cant imagine him having much trouble if he is able to keep it where he wants it to be.
