 Troid: Resurgence Preview

Troid is back! After being closed for just over One year, Troid has returned to its roots, with its first event in Paddy O’Malley’s Irish Bar in London. With a full 10 fight card on display and with the 170lbs and 205lbs tournaments starting, we go more in depth to compare the fighters on show, and give a prediction for each fight.

Clark Dlgirhadsgklasdjf (3-2-0 vs White “Sir” Zare (0-1-0)

The first matchup of Troids relaunch puts Dlgirhadsgklasdjf (wow that was a mouthful) against Zare. Both fighters will be looking to have the fight in a different area, with Dlgirhadsgklasdjf, despite having a good ground game, seemingly prefers to have the fight in the clinch. Zare has one defeat on his record but has superior standup but against Clark’s strange setup, even that could be tricky for him. Cheers for the long name mate.

PREDICTION: Dlgirhadsgklasdjf win via Unanimous Decision

Fichten Klatscher (1-0-0) vs Nero Collsayrn (0-2-0)

The opening bout of the 205 lbs tournament puts Klatscher vs Collsayrn. This one seems like it will be fought on the feet with both having ability in MT and Boxing respectively. Klatscher will be looking to use his wrestling to keep the fight standing just in case Collsayrn has any other ideas. Both fighters have a lot to prove in Troid, and will looking to use this match to put out a statement to the rest of the 205lbs division.

PREDICTION: Klatscher wins via KO – Head Kick

Iain “Popp” Iggy (0-1-0) vs Earl “of” Grey (0-0-0)

Not too much is known about this fight, with Greys plans a mystery having not fought before. Iggy is known as a brawler with a good chin who will be hard to knock out. Iggy lasted a whole fight despite taking 59 head punches and 19 punch combos showing his sturdiness. It will take something special from Grey to finish him here.

PREDICTION: Iggy wins via Unanimous Decision

Bob Jigster (0-1-0) vs Yoko “Thunder” Inamoto (1-1-0)

Jigster will want to keep this one standing while Inamoto will wanna get Jigster down so he can work his BJJ on him. Jigster has good kicks and will look to utilize them on Inamoto’s legs and head to pick up the win here. Inamoto is a counter fighter with a big heart and will look to build on his last fight with another submission win.

PREDICTION: Inamoto wins via Submission – Armbar

Roberto Blanco (0-0-0) vs Tomasz “El Diablo” Adamek (1-0-0)

Much like Earl Grey, not much is known about Blanco’s preferences in a fight. One thing is for certain, he won’t want to let El Diablo get him on the mat. Adamek will be looking to use his BJJ to get another submission win but will need to be aware of what his opponent tries during this match. The real winners here are the audience in attendance, and Kaiser for sponsoring both fighters.

PREDICTION: Adamek wins via Submission – Kimura

Minion “London” Jigster (1-0-0) vs Phillip Levasqua (2-4-0)

Levasqua is in a bit of a slump here, going on a losing streak stretching to 4. He will want to change that against Jigster here. Jigster is a brown belt, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have KO power. Winning his first match via KO, Jigster means business, and it doesn’t look like he will let anything get in his way.

PREDICTION: Jigster wins via TKO – Strikes

Malcom Blackwood (0-0-0) vs Jim Gibbler (1-0-0)

We have another debutant stepping into the cage for the first time. Blackwood is renowned in his hometown of St Helens for his solid wrestling, and he will look to use that to maximum advantage against Jim Gibbler. Gibbler may have won his last fight via Unanimous Decision but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a skilled fighter. Landing 64% of his strikes he shows that he can land hits from anywhere and I predict that will get him across the line.

PREDICTION: Jim Gibbler wins via TKO Strikes

Carlo Froch (1-0-0) vs Dave “Chaos” Matthews (1-2-0)

Carlo Froch has submitted the only man to step into the cage with him simply by hitting him, while Matthews caused a huge shock when he submitted his first opponent with a Kneebar. What’s the catch? Matthews is a white belt! If he can do that with no training, I shudder at the thought of what he is capable of. He will look to recover from two defeats against Froch who looked very impressive on his first showing.

PREDICTION: Froch wins via TKO Strikes

Co-Main Event of the night

Leroy “The Prophet” Moses (2-6-0) vs Jim Longbottom (2-0-0)

Moses has a lot to prove having never really been able to get on any sort of roll. He has won by decision twice and been knocked out 3 times. That doesn’t bode well when he goes up against a classy GnP machine like “JayL”. JayL has won twice via KO/TKO due to his relentless GnP assault and it will be interesting to see if he can takedown “The Prophet”.

PREDICTION: Longbottom wins via TKO Strikes

MAIN EVENT

Ron Jigster (1-0-0) vs “Pikey” Jack Milligan (1-0-0)

What a main event we have to kick off our first event and it comes from the 170lbs division. Ron Jigster impressed everybody watching as he took his opponent apart before finishing him with a nasty slam. He showed he is physically able to dominate a match, something Milligan will need to be aware of. Milligan was able to win his first fight by sinking in a RNC, something considered an upset when you look at the fight. But he showed perseverance and determination to fight back and came out on top. Whoever wins this fight will be the one to watch in the tournament. This is definitely the toughest fight on the card to predict.

PREDICTION: Jigster wins via TKO Strikes

So with the card fully covered, we can only wait until the events to see what happens, but if one thing is for certain, it’s that explosions are going to be going off.
