Event Preview: HEROIC 133 Narushima v Seia
HEROIC
2014-01-25, London, Wombley Arena
Author:

Hello everyone I am “Sunshine” Weston Markson, along with my partner Rudy “The Box” Knife, we are here to discuss Heroic 133 which comes to us live on PPV Saturday the 25th of January, we expect over 93,000 crazed fans at  Wombley arena, and hundreds of thousands more watching at home.  The night will be huge, headlined by not one, not two, but 3! Yes 3 title fights!!!.   Everyone on the main card of this fight is ranked in the top 10 of their division, 8 out of Heroic’s 10 P4P best fighters are on the card, and even the prelims has a fight with two guys in the top 5 of their division! Its going to be a huge night with a ton of great action.

Rudy:  YES! YES! YES! Its going to be a wonderful night!  I cant wait for each and every one of these fights on the card. This card is massive it has title shots, and title implications everywhere why wait lets get into the fights!

MAIN EVENT

#1/C P4P #4 "Parent Killer" Ryo Narushima (39-10) v  #2 P4P # 8 Tolo Seia  (27-8)                 205 lbs title

Weston:  The main event of Heroic 133 is the highly anticipated Light-Heavyweight title fight between new champion Ryo Narushima, and challenger Tolo Seia.  This is the fight we have all been waiting for, when Seia beat Kuma Nelson for the next shot at Ryo Narushima’s title he declined, instead of taking the shot at the title he asked for a rematch with the man who beat him in his first fight inside Heroic Mike Hunt.  This brought about accusations and trash talk by fans, pundits, and even the champion Ryo Narushima.  Narushima posted on his twitter “Please inform Mr. SPIX70R that once he stops ducking me by hiding behind rematches that I wish to rattle his jaw for suggesting I retire.  #whatnoisedoesaduckmake  #heroic “.  Ryo also joked of being EMBED with Tolo’s sister.  Tolo has remained quiet I havnt seen much if any trash talk from him, but im sure he has something to say to Ryo come fight time, and if he manages to take the title, I think that is all the trash talk he will need.  I know one thing for sure, this fight is ON and I cant wait to see what happens when these two amazing light-heavyweights lock horns inside Heroic’s cage.

Rudy:  Hells yes, im loving this fight, first we all know I love a good standup battle being a former 10 time kickboxing world champion I know a little about striking.  These two fighters are going to have everyone on the edge of their seat both in the arena and at home, this is two guys that possess the kind of power that you see in a small percentage of fighters.  The kind of power that when you get hit you wont want to wake up for a week because the pain and embarrassment is to much to handle.  Both fighters finish 80% or better of their wins by (T)KO, so watch attentively because this could be over in the blink of an eye.  When you look at these two fighters stylistically and statistically they are near mirror images of each other, Both throw heavy on the leg kicks, and head punches,  Narushima has the better leg kicks landing them 74% of the time and averaging 21 per fight, he uses his leg kicks to slow down his opponents then starts head hunting.  Seia however has the advantage with head punches he lands 71% and also employs the same strategy as Narushima.  This clash between the champion, p4p  4th ranked Narushima and 2nd ranked LHW, p4p 8th Seia will end in devastating fashion so don’t miss out on this great fight!

Prediction:  Ryo defends his LHW title by TKO late.

CO-MAIN EVENT

#1/C  P4P #5 "The Ukrainian Zombie" Marko Kersikov (12-0)  v  #2 P4P #9 Anderson McGinley (16-4)        265 lbs title

Weston:  The CO-MAIN EVENT is a heavyweight clash between recently crowned champion Marko Kersikov, and number one contender Anderson McGinley.  Kersikov comes into this fight as the 5th ranked P4P fighter in Heroic, he is also undefeated sitting at 12-0.  The young Kersikov has went from one of the best prospects in MMA to one of the greatest fighters in all of MMA, this fight his first title defense will tell us just how great Kersikov could be, if he wins we could be in for a long reign as champion in Heroic.  Anderson McGinley comes into this fight on a 7 fight win streak, and ranked #9 p4p in Heroic.  This is his second fight in Heroic, in his first fight he proved he can be a contender, and title challenger, now can he prove he can be the champion?

Rudy:  You forgot to mention the most important part of this fight, this is a battle of beards!  These two fighters have two of the best beards in all of MMA, no I don’t mean chins I mean the seksi hair on their face im sure the ladies love them.  This is another fight where we have two outstanding strikers, both of these guys are at the top level of striking ability, and both also have insane KO power.  Kersikov has won 11 of his 12 fights by (T)KO, and McGinley has won 13 of his 16 wins by (T)KO.  This fight could be over at any moment.  McGinley is one of the most accurate punchers around, he lands 72% of head punches, Kersikov has good accuracy in all catagories but not amazing he lands over 60 % on average, but where Kersikov has been amazing with accurate and powerful strikes is in the clinch, in the clinch Kersikov lands 89% of head punches, I think if this fight is in the clinch it gets the most interesting.  McGinley loves using the clinch and has a world class clinch game, he is very versatile and uses all weapons available, knees, elbows, and punches.  If this fight ends up in the clinch look for an interesting battle between the dirty boxing of Kersikov and the Muay Thai of McGinley.

Prediction:  I think Kersikov stays undefeated.

MAIN CARD

#2 P4P #6 Jay Hunter  (24-10) v  #1/C  P4P #3 Bowser Stormcrow   (18-1)                170 lbs title

Weston:  The last fight on the main card, or as I like to call it the main event of the main card is a welterweight title fight between champion and 3rd ranked p4p fighter Bowser Stormcrow, and challenger the p4p 6th ranked  Jay Hunter.  This isn’t the first time these two have met, Stormcrow fought Hunter for his second title defense which he won by decision.  Now in his fourth title defense he gets another chance to prove he is the better fighter and hopes this time for a finish.  Stormcrow has only lost once, but in his last 8 fights he has the exact same record as his challenger 7-1, for Hunter that loss comes at the hands of Stormcrow.  I know how much this rematch with Stormcrow means for him, he wants to be the best fighter in the division, he wants to avenge that loss, and most importantly he wants Heroic gold.

Rudy:  I loved this fight the first time these two fought.  It came down to the clinch game of Stormcrow, and the ground game of Hunter.  Fortunatly for Stormcrow his clinch game was stronger then Hunter’s ground game that night.  Stormcrow landed 58 strikes in the clinch with his dirty boxing,  I expect this fight to play out much the same way.  Hunter will come in looking for takedowns, he averages 10 per fight but only lands 2 his accuracy isn’t great but his persistence often gets him the takedown and from there his world class ground game takes over.  If he can get Stormcrow down early like he did late in the last fight he may be able to tire Stormcrow out and take rounds from him early.  If Stormcrow defends the takedowns I look for him to clinch and work his dirty boxing.

Prediction:  Stormcrow by decision.

#2 P4P #7 Naru "Käsi" Jarkko (27-12)  v  #3 P4P #10 "The Gracie Killer" Masahiko Kimura (16-3)

Weston:  Oh no just what I wanted to watch a loud mouth fight.  The next fight on the main card is a lightweight fight to become the #1 contender.  2nd ranked lightweight and 7th ranked p4p Naru Jarkko takes on the loud mouth, and self-proclaimed Heroic UNDISPUTED LIGHTWEIGHT champion the third ranked lightweight, and 10th ranked p4p Masahiko Kimura.

Rudy: Shut your mouth you show Kimmy some respect.

Weston:  I don’t respect a man who has no respect, “Kimmy” as you call him is a wannabe a loser and my boy Naru will prove that once again, but anyway back to the point, this fight is to determine who will be the next challenger for the lightweight title, now I for one am shocked that Kimura has gotten himself here but somehow this jackass managed to climb the ranks he is on a 4 fight win streak and sits at 12-1 in Heroic.

Rudy:  Uh 13-0 he is undefeated.

Weston:  No Rudy Kimura lost he tapped out to Furious George, ok to his credit he avenged the loss in his last fight but he still lost.  Anyway Kimura is 12-1 in Heroic and looking like God forbids it ever happens champion.  You know Rudy our friend Fasial caught up with Kimura and asked him some questions the other day, since you are always on his nuts how can you defend this?  Fas asked him his thoughts on his opponent and this is what Kimura said “Feelings? you want my feelings!? You must know by now that Masahiko Kimura has no feelings... How do I think the fight will go? is that what you meant to ask me.... ha see I am even a better journalist than you, ofcourse I will win the fight, will I leave with one of Naru's arms? maybe, it depends on how much this guy tries to hug me.... if that piece of shit tries to hold me down well... I'm going to end his career.... and you know I can do that.”  Then Fas asked about the training for the fight and this arrogant piece of shit said “Training at the Gti Boot Camp is like being back in my gang days, of course I am the alpha male in the gym and noone can touch me, but some of the other guys are fighting for their lives day in day out, so training is hard.”  Oh and btw I got in touch with Kimura the other day I asked him for a prediction and he said, “I predict that I successfully defend MY Heroic Lightweight Championship.” HELLO HE ISNT EVEN THE CHAMPION RUDY!.

Rudy:  What?  I don’t understand what you are talking about, he is 13-0, never lost, sounds like the champ to me? Why don’t you end your hard on for Kimmy and move on to Naru.

Weston:  Ok sure I will do that, Naru Jarkko has for long been one of the lightweight division’s best fighters, he has fought for the title several times and just barely come up short.  When he wins this fight I predict he finally gets over the hump and goes on to win the Heroic Lightweight title.

Rudy:  Finally he is don’t talking, YES YES YES YES YES the undefeated Kimmy fights again, and once again he fights another great submission artist.  Now I think this fight will take place mostly on the ground both fighters have good takedowns averaging right around 37%.  If Naru has any chance (and trust me he doesn’t) he is going to need to keep this fight standing, because once this fight hits the ground Kimmy is going to submit him really quick, infact I think I already here Jarkko tapping out.

Prediction:  Serious?  Jarkko by squealing and crying do to the broken  arm Kimmy wins submission always 100% of time.

Weston: wow, ok people unbiased prediction:  Jarkko by submission makes Kimmy cry he didn’t tap again.

# 7 Wilfredo "May May" Cacho (13-6)  v #8 Gabriel "The Archangel" Halo (15-5)

Weston:  The next fight is a light-heavyweight showdown between the 7th ranked Wilfredo Cacho, and the 8th ranked Gabriel Halo.  “may may” comes into this fight on a two fight win streak running his record since joining Heroic to 2-2, when Cacho signed the dotted line to join Heroic many had him as a contender of for the title after dropping his first two fights many had started to write him off, but now it appears a resurrection of contender status has come.  "The Archangel" comes into this fight at 2-0 in Heroic, he is starting to surprise a lot of people having just beaten a former champion in Jesus Rios.  If he wins his stock could skyrocket and talk of him becoming a contender will be at new heights.  Can Halo continue to impress or will Cacho prove he is as good as we thought he was?

Rudy: This is a wonderful fight between two up and comers, with a win one of these men is going to some title eliminator fights and the other will take a small step back.  I expect this fight to stay standing unless one of these two is getting dominated, but with two strikers I expect a standup war that could turn out to be FOTN.  These two are KO artist, both men win by KO over 90% of the time.   Halo has never won a fight by decision, and in his 20 fight career only been to a decision 1 time.  Cacho has only won a decision 1 time.  You can expect both men to come out swinging for the fences because both are the kind of fighter that puts more into their shots they both land strikes in the low 60%’s-high 50%’s, so they rely on their power to win fights, I think whoever lands cleanly first will win this fight by KO.

Prediction:  Halo by TKO

#4 "El Guapo" Taz Rutten (27-7-1)  v  #3 Richard "The Lion" Nixon (29-10)

Weston:  The next fight on the main card is a Welterweight fight between 3rd ranked Richard Nixon, and 4th ranked Taz Rutten.  This is a huge fight for both men that could have title implications, but its not the first time these two have met inside Heroic’s cage.  These two met once before with a title shot on the line and Nixon came out the victor edging outpointing Rutten in a majority decision.  After Rutten’s last fight he asked for one thing, he didn’t want a title shot, or more money, he wanted a rematch with Richard Nixon.  Nixon has only lost in Heroic when the title is on the line, sitting at 1-3 in title fights, Nixon a former champion would love to once again get back into the title picture, Rutten also wants in that picture and a win over Nixon puts him right up there in the mix.

Rudy:  These two welterweights will steal the show I guarantee it.  I think this fight will take place standing, but don’t be surprised to see Rutten take the fight to the ground if he isn’t winning in the standup exchanges.   Nixon is the more accurate kicker in this one he lands around 65% of all kicks, while Rutten lands around 60% of his kicks, however Rutten is the more accurate boxer landing nearly 63% of all punches, while Nixon lands around 56% of all his punches.  I expect this fight to be decided in the clinch and on the ground if the fight goes there, I see these two very even in both aspects but Rutten offensively has a slight advantage on the ground.

Prediction:  Rutten takes it this time. Decision.
