INSANITY 4: Show No Mercy

The first event in January started off with some lightweight action, Octavio Rodriguez Vs. Julian James went to the distance as Octavio controlled the match from the get go and despite a cut won it handily 30-27. Next up Ron Bella Vs. Byakuya Kuchiki in the welterweights, Kuchiki was cut early but his striking game wasn't matched by his opponent and he controlled the 2nd and 3rd rounds going towards a 29-28 decision victory for him. That decision win was followed by another Welterweight fight between Tony LeSopra and John Malcomes and the fight was over faster than it took for them to get to the cage, Malcomes destroying his opponent from the mount position! Next up Lightweight action as Jyoti Evans goes up against Jar Swanson and from the get go Evans looked like a million bucks rocking his foe and with vicious clinch knees he knocks Swanson down, with punches raining down Swanson tries to survive but Evans uses that to lock in a Kimura and takes home a vicious submission victory! And after that fight we get two more lightweights who want to show their worth as Jacob Laws and Nagib Holgersen have a chance to impress the fans... Holgersen clinches up with Laws and he quickly tries to pull guard which eventually succeeds, but he has underestimated his foe who takes easy control on top and after a struggle takes the back of Holgersen, despite fighting back he gets caught in the choke and with only 3 seconds remaining in the round he taps to the RNC from Laws.

More welterweight action is on store as Jingle Jingle and Eddy Love are set for Mortal Kombat, and from the moment the bell rings Jingle launches towards Love for a takedown and gets it. Sitting in Half Guard he looks for an opening, but Love is fighting the transitions bravely, but during the struggle Jingle traps an arm and torques it hard forcing Love to tap out to the Kimura! Next up some heavyweights as it is Thomasz Spreniak Vs. Jeremy Perosh... Spreniak counters a cross into a clinch and tries to control the action and he hits a few nice clean shots to the head, Perosh breaks the clinch though and hits a lefty that splits Spreniak open causing him to bleed profusely, the fans smell blood and Spreniak tries to a takedown to stop the offense, but it gets avoided and Perosh hits a huge overhand right that drops Spreniak like a bloody sack of bricks, and after a few follow up strikes the ref has seen enough and ends this fight, Perosh picks up his second (T)KO victory in just as many fights and the fans love it!
The final fight before the main events is a middleweight bout between Muay Thai lovers Ricardo Oliveira and Ephraim Graham. And this fight was a barn burner as it went the distance and every round the only thing both guys went for was the clinch game, what resulted was a stiff contest of dirty boxing and muay thai action, but Oliveira showed clear dominance as he hit a whopping 78 elbows in three rounds and took home a dominant decision victory, he can only wonder what unholy material Graham's chin was made of...

And now it's time for the Co-Main event of the evening, Hit Harder Vs. James Hendricks in the 205 and this one wasn't pretty at all. H2 got the clinch early on and worked over Hendricks with a dirty boxing 101 and eventually it took his toll rocking Hendricks, he wouldn't go down though and Harder decides to drag him down and go for the triangle choke which got sinched in and before going to sleep Hendricks taps out giving Hit Harder the dominant victory.
Butch Shorette Vs. Rich van Winkle is the main event of the evening in the lightweight division, two unbeaten fighters putting their streaks on the line. Van Winkle looks like he's sleepwalking out there though, and Butch takes advantage of it by using him as a human heavy bag hitting almost every punch he throws. Shorette eventually sees a perfect opening and he hits a homerun with a monsterous straight right that drops Van Winkle to the mat, Shorette doesn't even need to follow up because the main event fight is over with a bang!
