Author:

Hey everyone i just wanted to let you know soon im going to have a new smacktalk thread, i will also do the interviews and such i will try to incorporate any smacktalk or any sort of quotes you, others in the community, or fighters say into the previews.  Thank you for your patience in getting everything back up and running you have all been great :).

Hello everybody, I am “Sunshine” Weston Markson along with my cohost Rudy “The Box” Knife.  We are live from Heroic Studios ready to discuss Heroic 138, but first for all you lovers out there, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!  I think its safe to say a good break from all the love making of Friday night will be some good old fashion ass kicking on Saturday night.  Yep yep I expect no love making between the competitors on this card as we have a huge

Weston:  Uh no,

Rudy:  HAHAHA I KNEW IT! You tiny bro!

Weston:  Rudy shut up so we can get back to our loved ones.

Rudy:  Weston im sure Gabe can wait.

Weston: Its Gabby not Gabe!  Anyway the card is huge, we have 3 title fights and everyone on the main card is ranked in their division.  I know the normally quiet Wilson was super excited about this event, he even took to twitter to tell the world how great an event this will be.

Rudy:  That’s right Weston it’s a don’t miss event from the LA Memorial Colossuseum , where we expect more than 93000 screaming fans, and about 600 more still making out from the night before.  The event will also be live on PPV where hundreds of thousands will tune in to watch these great athletes touch each other with gloved hands!

Weston:  What the hell is wrong with you, lets do this already.

MAIN EVENT

C/#1 Ernesto Oliveira (35-11)  v  #1 Gun Slinga  (22-9)       265+ lbs title

Weston:  The main event of HERoic 138 is a SHW TITLE FIGHT between the two #1 ranked fighters in the division, the current champion Ernesto Oliveira, and Gun Slinga.  Now originally this was slated to be a champion vs champion fight, but when the old Heroic champion realized that the merger between Steel Penn and Heroic would lead to more and more challengers, he felt the competition would be to stiff and decided to go to smaller waters, when that happened Heroic turned to Gun Slinga to be the representative for the unification bout, Slinga as always was game to throwdown and a bout was born.  Speaking of Slinga he comes into this fight on the biggest streak of his career,  since his loss to Muy Thai for Heroic’s HW title Slinga has been on a rampage, winning 4 straight fights,  and rising to the top 25 p4p in the world, and the 3rd ranked fighter in the world rankings for SHW fighters.  Now Slinga gets another opportunity to wear Heroic gold but this time its against Ernesto Oliveira, Oliveira has also been impressive as of late having won 15 out of his last 20 fights, In Oliveira’s last fight he recaptured the SHW title for the second time and ushered in a new era in Heroic.   The question is can Oliveira go home to his wifey with the title or will Gun Slinga take it home with im?

Rudy:  Yeah baby! This is one of the biggest fights in the world over the next few months, the winner of this fight is going to make a huge name for themselves and could very well move into the top 10 p4p worldwide.   Im telling you this fight is going to be amazing, it will have so much tension and with one strike all that tension is going to be blasted into a million pieces as the fans are sent into a frenzy, that is because we have two SHW hard hitting striking champions!  Two of the greatest strikers in the world, two of the most powerful strikers in the world, and possibly two guys with chins that have been a little suspect at times.  One punch, one kick, that’s all this will take I think whoever lands clean first will take this one.  Ill break down who I think that is going to be, both guys take a similar approach, they both are aggressive in spots, they pick and choose well, they both average around 22 strikes per fight from striking distance.  The more accurate of the two fighters is Gun Slinga,  he lands around 63% of his two most used strikes, leg kicks, and head punches.  For Oliveira he lands around 52% in those same two strikes.  What is interesting is when the fight gets to the clinch Slinga picks up the pace and goes more aggressive; with that aggression he loses some accuracy and in the Clinch Oliveira is actually more accurate.  I think this is going to be one of the greatest SHW battles ever, a record book performance, and it’s a very close fight, for sure one of these two men will get another KO to add to their 88% KO rate.  Will Slinga Get is 20th KO?  Or will Oliveira get his 32nd?

Prediction:  I think its Slinga’s time, so im picking him, BUT my gut is saying Oliveira.

CO-MAIN EVENT

C/#1 Bowser Stormcrow (19-1) v  C/#1 Jorge Junior (21-5)             170 lbs title

Weston:  The CO-MAIN EVENT of HERoic 138?  A welterweight title fight between two Heroic champions and #1 ranked fighters, Bowser Stormcrow, and Jorge Junior.  Stormcrow is one of the greatest welterweight fighters alive today, actually in my opinion the greatest.  I think when its all said and done his meteoric rise will land him as the WW GOAT.  Stormcrow comes into this fight having won 8 stright fights, and losing only once in his career, to another great WW who has only lost twice in his career Cole River, but standing in his way of becoming the best WW ever is a fellow champion Jorge Junior.  Junior comes into this fight an underdog, but don’t underestimate because Junior is a world class competitor.  Junior has absolutely phenomenal takedowns, landing over 2 per fight and on 45% of his attempts.  You can almost guarantee this amazing wrestler will get the fight to the ground in every fight at some point.

Rudy:  You are right Weston I cant believe im saying that but you are, Junior is great wrestler, and if and when he gets the fight to the ground it will swing in his favor, I expect him to try for the takedown early and often, I look for him to counter the striking of Stormcrow to set up his takedowns, but Junior is also facing one of the best defensive wrestlers he will ever face.  Stormcrow stuffs 81% of takedowns,  I think Stormcrow will come out with leg kicks looking to slow down the takedowns of Junior, he wants to stuff the takedowns early so that Junior loses confidence in his takedown abilities.  If he can do that I think he wins, but if Junior lands an early takedown or two and starts to work his GNP I think we will have an upset in the making.

Prediction:  I think its close like I said if Stormcrow keeps it standing he wins, if Junior gets it to the ground he wins.

MAIN CARD

C/#1 Adam Gracie (25-10-1) v  #2 "Personal" Rainer Varvaskoukku (21-10-2)         145 lbs title

Weston:  The last fight on the main card will also be the final bout on a card heavy in little guys, this will be the 6th and final fight of fighters below 170lbs  The small guys really dominate this card, and they could very well dominate the FOTN bonus.  Typically the smaller guys do because they move fast don’t get tired and put on a great show.  I think we are going to see that here.

Rudy:  Well I think I was right, I think we are gonna see a little love making tonight, still in the mood after valentines day and unable to go boom before big fight I think these two are going to get a little friendly with each other.

Weston:  Why rudy?

Rudy:  They wrastlers bro like you they gon’be all over each other in close on each other hugging It out all night.

Weston:  Wrestling isn’t that how many times I gotta tell you.  You think you all shit cause you are a striker. Pfft.

Anyway I think we will see a great featherweight title fight between these two fighters, both of these guys are coming off the two biggest wins of their careers.   The champion Gracie just beat a fighter who was one month ago today in the top 10 p4p worldwide, and listed as the best LW/FW in the world at the time.  Rainer just had a big win as well as I mentioned his big win was against former p4p kingpin Danny Power.  After the Power fight Rainer took 4 months off, rumors have run rampart as to why some say he was in a chronic induced coma, others say he was in Tibet visiting the monks.  I guess we will never know but one thing we will know is who the better fight is!

Rudy:  As I already mentioned this fight is between two grapplers, I do believe it will be highly entertaining, these two both average near each other in takedown effectiveness right around 35% for both of them.  If one has the advantage there its Rainer his percentage is just slightly higher.   Once the fight hits this fight becomes really intriguing.  Rainer relies more on his GNP although he does have good submissions he wants to be on top of Gracie unloading big shots, Gracie on the other hand is a submission grappler more than a GNP fighter, he also has good GNP but the majority of his wins have come by submission. Its possible he will want to work from bottom waiting for Rainer to make a mistake with his GNP.   We may see a fight where both guys get what they want, have the fight where they want it, and one proves they are truly better.  Cant wait its going to be a good ground battle!

Predicktion:  No love making just some good ole grappling I think Gracie wins by submission.

#6"Bishop" Lucas Bishop (15-6) v #4"Ragin' Cajun Xander (34-9-1)

Weston:  The next fight on the main card is a middleweight fight between two ranked fighters in 4th ranked Cajun Xander, and 6th ranked Lucas Bishop.  I think we can expect a war here as these two guys know they are close to title contention, its possible one or two wins could get them a spot as the next challenger.  You know I just want to say both of these guys scare the hell out of me, Bishop is a hulking man beast that looks like he could fight at SHW.  Cajun scares me because he lives up to his moniker seriously im a little scared to see this fight I think someone might get seriously hurt.  Bishop comes into this fight having won 4 straight fights, every time we see him he has improved and I think he could be ready for a run at the title.  Xander on the other hand just had a 5 fight win streak snapped if he wins that fight he is probably fighting for the MW title right now, but that’s the past and I know in the future “rajin” wants to get back into contention.

Rudy:  EGGDROP!

Weston:  What?

Rudy: ?  So what we have here my friends is a fight between two standup fighters, now  I say standup fighters because although Cajun is a good striker, he excels in the clinch.  In the clinch Cajun throws 45 strikes per fight, and lands over 72%.   Those are big numbers this has allowed him to wear his opponent down with short accurate strikes, and then look for the kill later in the fight.  Bishop on the other hand has a good clinch game but its his striking at distance that really sets him apart from the competition.  Bishop’s best weapon is his leg kicks, he attempts nearly 12 per fight and lands almost 66% of those attempts.  He uses the leg kicks to slow his opponent so he can work his hands to put their lights out.

Prediction:  I think Bishop continues his streak running it to 5 straight by decision this time.

#5 "The Casablanca Clouter" Marcel Cerdan (28-16-2) v  #3 Tad Ghostal (32-13)

Rudy:  HEY WESTON! Guess what we have next! Yeah you are wrong as always, we have two fast strikers who you are all going to need a DVR or some sort of video playback in slow motion, that’s right because much like Weston will be tonight with Gabe these two are going to be QUICK! They are going to unload everything they have real fast.  You know Ghostal is a great athlete in his last 13 fights he has only lost in title fights!  That’s nuts, If he wins this fight he might get the chance to fight for a title again soon and maybe next time he wont lose.  Cerdan is scary he wins 75% of his fights by (T)KO.  He isn’t a heavyweight people he is a 145lber these guys are not suppose to have this kind of power!

Prediction:  I think Cerdan takes this one.

#7 "Wild Guy"Tony Kazarian (27-11-1)  v  #8 Genki Dama (29-15)

Weston: The first fight on the main card is a fight between ranked featherweights, Tony Kazarian who comes in ranked 7th and Genki Dama the 8th ranked fighter.  These two are similar, both fighters will look to get the fight to the ground.  They are also both struggling as of late after title shots,  Kazarian has been alternating wins and losses ever since his 3 fight win streak was snapped in a title fight 5 fights ago, Dama had won 4 straight fights, but has dropped two after his 4 fight win streak was snapped by the same champion as Kaz’s Adam Gracie.  Now I know both of these guys want some revenge against that champion, but only one will have their hopes and dreams come to a temporary halt, and the other will take a step closer to getting back where they want.

Prediction:  Oh I don’t normally get to do this… Uh I predict Tony wins yeah im going with Tony.

Rudy:  That’s all we have for you tonight folks, thanks for tuning in have a great night and HAPPY V day ill see you all tomorrow except you Jessica ill see you tonight!

Weston:  Jessica?  I thought you were dating “Kimmy”?
