A deeper look in HFC 6

Event Preview: HONOR FC 6 Redemption

Do you think owning and operating an organization is an easy thing? I don’t and I think everyone should applaud Mr. Monk for doing such a fantastic job. A few events back Bobby Shamrock earned his title shot in a main event that he was headlining over two title fights. The reason is simple it comes down to popularity of the fighters in each match. Shamrock was one of our most popular fighters we had signed, and now he is in the three whole for his title fight. Mr. Monk has been working feverishly to bring in the best fighters from around the world and he is doing a wonderful job. With that being said let me thank the sponsors and then we can dive into these fights. Meet the Future we owe a big thanks to for sponsoring our fighters and events. Also we need to thank In The Red Sportsbook for giving odds on all of our fights.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Josh Dominguez (13-16-1) {0-3-0} versus Brian "Cold Bloded" Fury (2-3) {1-2}

Both of these fighters are looking to get out of their losing slumps. Dominguez is on a three fight losing streak that started with his debut to HFC. The twenty eight year old boxer and wrestler will be looking to get his first win in HFC by using his wrestling. He is going to need to get the fight down to the ground in order to secure a victory. Fury is on a two fight losing streak but he did win his debut. This could be the turnaround point of his career if he can secure a win. He is overmatched on the ground but the fight is even in the standup so that is where Fury will want to keep it. If Fury can get the clinch he will be in good shape. I think Fury will edge this one out with a TKO in the third round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

James "The Snake" Chaney (13-13) {0-1} versus Jonathan "The Demon" Ortiz (2-0) {0-0}

Chaney is a craft twenty six fight veteran. He will be looking to get the fight to the ground where he can look for a quick submission. Eleven of his thirteen wins have come by way of submission so he has proven he is dangerous on the ground. Lately Chaney has been on a downward spiral losing five of his last six fights and he was finished in four of those losses. Ortiz is a better wrestler and he has the much better stand up. I think he will be able to keep the fight standing for the most part and from there he will dominate Chaney. I got the young Ortiz winning this fight by TKO in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Bruce Lee (3-2) {2-2} versus Sun "Kakarot" Wukong (4-1) {2-2}

This is a classic striker versus grappler match up. Lee is the striker as he is trained in boxing and Muay Thai. All three of Lee’s wins have been by TKO or KO so we know his hands and feet are dangerous. Lee is currently riding a two fight win streak and if this fight stays standing he will be on a three fight win streak. Wukong is also on a two fight win streak and he also has three wins by TKO. His TKO’s have come much different than Lee’s as Sun is a ground and pounder. I think Wukong will get the takedown and be able to pound out Lee in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Greg Roddy (2-2) {2-1} versus Larry "The Time Bomb" Tanaka (5-5) {1-0}

Both of these guys are on two fight win streaks and neither one of them will want to give that up. Roddy has won his last two fights with knockouts via punch so it’s clear Roddy has power. Tanaka also has power and he displayed it in his last fight with a knockout win of his own. This will be a standup knockem down drag out type of brawl and I don’t see any time being spent on the ground. Tanaka is a well-rounded striker while Roddy is just a boxer. I think Roddy will be able to out strike Tanaka in this one, so I am picking Roddy to win by knockout in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

"Wrecked" Stew Sauced (4-1) {2-0} versus "The Real O.G." Ragnar Lothbrok (1-0) {1-0}

This is the fight I am looking most forward to on the event. I think both of these guys are up and comers in the light heavyweight division. Both of these guys are very talented strikers, and both of them have a ground game to go with. Sauced does have the advantage on the ground but it is not much. It would be hard to say who has the better striking but these to should be more than happy to stand in the pocket and trade shots. Sauced is a better puncher so if Sauced gets to the inside he will wreck Lothbrok, but The Real O. G. has already displayed his amazing kicks and that should give him a slight advantage. I am going to pick Regnar Lothbrok to win this very close fight, and I got him winning by head kick in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Austin "Hollywood" Worner (18-17) {2-1} versus Dallas "Haneous" Riley (28-22) {2-1}

Wow seventy five fights have been racked up between these two warriors. The thirty year old Worner won his last two fights here in HFC but for him to win this one he will need to change up his game plan a little bit. I think Worner should try to keep it standing a little bit more and then work some ground and pound when the fight goes to the mat. Riley has had fifty fights in his career and a majority of his wins have come by submission. Worner is great on the ground as well, and I think Riley will have some trouble with him. I think Worner is going to win this fight by decision because I don’t think either one of these fighters can finish the other.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Mari "Smoke" Juana (8-3) {1-0} versus Cullen Bohannan (2-1) {2-1}

Juana’s strength is his ground game, as he is a great wrestler and he holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has five wins by submission so far in his career. He will need to out wrestle Bohannan who is also a great wrestler and try to get this fight to the ground. Someone with better Jiu Jitsu I would normally say is fine on the bottom but I don’t think Juana wants to be under Bohannan so he will need to stay away from trying to pull guard. Cullen does have that great wrestling background but he has great stand up. I feel if Bohannan can keep this fight standing Juana will knocked out in the first round. That is exactly what I think happens as well. I am going to say Bohannan counters a takedown attempt with a big head kick and wins in the first round.

Main Card Number 3- Welterweight Title Fight (170lbs)

Rock "Taijutsu" Lee (5-1) {4-1} versus Bobby "The Next Big Thing" Shamrock (6-1) {2-0}

A month ago this would have been one of if not the biggest fight in Honor Fighting Championship and now its third from the top. That just shows you how deeper and how much better each and every division is getting here. The champ has won his last four fights and all of those have been under the HFC banner. I don’t think that Lee has ever faced anyone as good as Shamrock so it’s going to take a lot more to win this fight other than riding high with confidence. Lee will need to come out with an amazing game plan because I think Shamrock is better in every aspect of the fight game. I think Shamrock is the better striker and we all know he is the better grappler. I got Shamrock winning this fight in the second round by TKO to become the new Honor Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion.

Co Main Event Main Card Fight Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

"The Bay Harbour Butcher" Dexter Morgan (10-5) {0-0} versus Erick Rootmans (8-3) {0-0}

This will be the debuting fight for both of these guys in Honor Fighting Championship. Both of these guys are coming in with a little hype behind them. Morgan is a top notch wrestler that loves the ground and pound. He also has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so he has a backup if he cannot get any good strikes in. Rootmans is not a horrible grappler but he will be at a major disadvantage on the ground. Standing up is a whole other story though. Erick is a phenomenal striker who is well trained in Muay Thai and boxing. In or out of the clinch, punches or kicks Rootmans just does it better than Morgan. I think Morgan will get the fight to the ground but I think we get a good look at Rootmans heart and he comes back to knockout Morgan in the third round.

Main Event Main Card Number 5- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

"Pretty Pete" Peter Parker (23-11) {0-0} versus "The Assassin Reborn" Darwin France (20-5) {0-0}

Two more new faces to HFC and they are both in the ever growing stronger featherweight division. Parker is the best striker in this fight and he should try to keep this fight standing. If this does stay standing he should be able to pick apart France with ease. France is a clear cut submission fighter and his record proves it. Twenty wins with fifth teen of them coming by submission and five losses with zero of them coming by submission. This black belt will need to take Parker down early and often if he wants to have a chance to win. If France does get Parker down I don’t think he will be able to submit his, so I think late in the second round after a stand up Parker will get the knockout win.

We are going to blow the roof off Hayashi's Lounge in downtown Los Vegas. This entire event is loaded up from top to bottom, but these last three fights are sick and could main event most other events by them self. I can’t wait to see what happens tonight and I would like to say good luck to all of the competitors. I will see you tonight at the fights!
