Holy great news to everyone involved in Honor Fighting Championship. We had an amazing event, and the sell out and high rating should be more than enough to prove that. HFC is on the move and the top forty is next on the list of milestones on our journey to be a top organization in the world. Of course the fights themselves are one of the main reasons for our success so let’s take a look at what made this event, which did not even feature a title match, such a success.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

King Pin defeats Justin "Glenn" Bostic

I thought this would be a long drawn out fight that took place mainly on the mat with Bostic winning by decision. The fight started just as I thought with Bostic getting the takedown and laying on top. The big problem was he just was not active enough and the referee stood the fight up. From there it was all Pin and he did not allow the fight to get anywhere near the ground again. Pin used his far better striking skills to rip Bostic apart and at one point I thought Bostic was out on his feet. The round ends and it is clear to everyone Pin won the first round. Pin came out in the second like a caged animal just head hunting and the referee stopped the fight at :13 of the second round as Pin gets the TKO win do to punches.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Bantamweight (135lbs)

Coors "Silver Bullet" Light defeats Chierehdk Cknlaskhr

Well Light finally came through for me in this one. I predicted his win by decision dead on. The first round I was a little scared as he did score the takedown but Cknlaskhr was able to escape to the back position. Light had to fend off several submission attempts before the round came to an end. Clear round for Chierehdk ten to nine on my card and all three judges as well. The second round was different as Light really took control of the fight. He got the takedown and did not fall in to such a deep whole. He actually through a lot of strikes and attempted several submissions but Chierehdk defended perfectly attempted a submission his self. The round was clearly Lights and the judges and I have the fight tied at nineteen to nineteen. The third round was very similar to the second round with Light dominating most of it. Both fighters seemed a little concerned that they needed a finish and we see a lot more strikes and some more submission attempts. As soon as the buzzer sounded I had light winning the fight twenty nine to twenty eight and so did all three judges.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

"Dangerous" Phillip Finnegan defeats Bud "King Of Beers" Weiser

Weiser certainly didn’t last as long as I thought he would. Finnegan came out with fury in his eyes and he opened up with punches and kicks while stuffing all seven of Weiser’s takedown attempts. Honestly I don’t know if this was game planning or just skill set but Finnegan made Weiser look like an amateur out there. The referee stopped the fight at 1:06 of the first round. The official decision was TKO do to strikes but in my book it says Finnegan wins by knockout via head kick.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Bruce Lee defeats Steven "Hecklly" Heck

There is certainly a lot to say about this one sided affair. Lee took Heck to the shed and beat him like a red headed step child. Let’s run down some stats from this fight. From the clinch Heck was o of eighteen with knees and that is all he attempted from the clinch. From range he tried zero strikes and he was one of twenty one with takedowns. With the one takedown he had Heck landed nothing, improved no positions, and tried zero submissions. Lee was better on the ground as he was able to at least advance positions, from the clinch he was four of seven with punches, twelve of eighteen with elbows and two of four with knees, and from range is where I was the most impressed. He was perfect with his striking percentage landing one of one kicks and thirty eight out of thirty eight punches. Thankfully at 2:39 of the second round the ref put an end to what has to be the closest thing I have ever seen to a snuff film. The official decision Lee wins in the second round by TKO do to strikes.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Jeffrey Sarpong defeats Cap Roundtree

Sarpong dominated this fight right from the opening bell. He got an early takedown in round number one and he tried everything he could to get a submission victory but Roundtree was able to defend well. It was a clear round from Sarpong in my opinion. Round two did not get any better for Roundtree as he was taken down again and the submissions rained upon him again. Once again Roundtree looked great on the ground with all of his submission he defended but once again I gave the round to Sarpong. Round three was a little different as Sarpong decided to dominate the fight in the stand up almost finishing Roundtree at least once. Towards the end of the round Sarpong scored another take down and then he really tried to end the fight some more even though the blind kid standing at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and east Seventeenth Street could see that Sarpong had wrapped this fight up. All three judges scored the fight 30 to 27 for Jeffrey Sarpong winner by unanimous decision.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Marcus Chandler defeats Diego "Firefox ak" Nunes

If Nunes could have gotten the fight to the ground I think my prediction would have held true. I was shocked at Chandler’s take down defense in this fight. He was able to hold Nunes to one take down on eleven attempts. The striking was not much better for Nunes as he attempted forty one strikes throughout the fight while landing just over forty percent with seventeen landed. Now Chandler put on striking clinic landing more strikes than Nunes attempted but he just could not put him away. The fight went to the judges and all of them scored the fight 30 to 27 and I saw it the exact same way. The official decision Chandler wins via unanimous decision.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Arshnoor "THE BRUTALIZER" Singh defeats Bolius "One round fighter" Kalabokas

I thought Singh would end this fight with a head kick but recently he has changed up his style. He is now utilizing low kicks, or even just leg kicks to set up punches and it is working for him very well. In this fight Singh landed five leg kicks, five punches, and a combination on his route to a knockout victory by way of punches. The fight only lasted to :57 of the first round as I am sure Kalabokas was looking for the head kick much like I was and then was surprised by the great punching.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

"Nobushi" Mitsuyo Maeda defeats "Lord High Executioner" Albert Anastasia

This was a snore fest for sure. I had picked LHE to win this fight I honestly thought it should be no problem for him. In the first round Maeda got a few takedowns but once on the ground he really did not do anything. It was a lay and pray from the top strategy and it made for a boring round that Maeda won 10-9. The second round LHE kept the fight standing for most of the round, near the end of the round he was taken down. During this round LHE picked apart Maeda with well-placed stiff strikes and he easily won the round 10-9 making the fight 19-19 after two rounds. The third round was a bit of a letdown as I figured LHE would be able to prevent the take downs again. I was wrong and Maeda gained an early take down and the rest of the round was some ground grappling with Maeda controlling from the top and not looking to finish. The top position and the take down won him the round and in turn won him the fight. All three judges scored the fight the same way I did 29-28 for Mitsuyo Maeda via unanimous decision.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Mari "Smoke" Juana defeats Kshitij "EL FENOMENO" Singh Negi

Negi locked up a clinch in the early part of the round and I started thinking to myself well this is over. He defended a takedown and landed a massive elbow and jumped up so once the ref stopped the fight I could run to the bathroom and hopefully not have to deal with a line. Juana though pulled guard and the first thing to pop into my head was oh no. Juana then got top position after a scramble and was able to get into full mount after a bit of dulled action. Juana was landing some good strikes from the mount and then he went for an arm triangle and was able to lock it in. Negi was forced to tap out at 3:59 of the first round.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Mac Hansen defeats Riley Cooper

Honestly I thought Cooper could not lose this fight. I even stated that I thought Hansen would keep the fight standing as Cooper is a ground guy but Cooper would still come out on top. I was wrong as Cooper scored an early take down but Hansen was able to stand up by walking the wall. Cooper was able to land another takedown but Hansen was able to stall out until the referee was forced to stand it back up. After getting the fight back to standing for the second time it seemed that Hansen got some new found confidence and he started stuffing every take down attempt and he was mixing in head kicks with his punches. Everyone knew it was the beginning of the end for Cooper as Hansen was just landing way too much and Hansen eventually got the knockout at 4:20 of the first round do to strikes.

Well the main card got the best of me with my predictions this week but you win some and you lose some. Thankfully I did not have too much money riding on this event or I could have been in some serious trouble. Come back and find out my predictions for Unbreakable Honor FC 8 when I do the preview tomorrow. I will see you folks then.
