 Welcome to Wednesday Warfare IX. We have a loaded up event card for all of you thins evening. A big title defense and we have a few former champs on the card. We will be headed up by a big double main event which will feature a featherweight fight and a light heavyweight fight. Both of those fights will follow the featherweight title fight between DeMario Williams and Marcus Chandler.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Corner "Alley Cat" Bum (2-4) {1-4} versus Yoshito "The Snake" Silva (4-4-1) {0-1-1}

Bum has had a tough time here in HFC. He is one and four in the HFC and he is currently on a three fight losing streak. He should look to keep this fight standing if he can. He should have a nice advantage in the stand up. Silva has also had a rough time. He is four four and one for his career and o one and one in HFC. He does have a decent ground game and I am sure this fight will end up on the mat soon or a later. That is the reason I am picking Silva to win by submission in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Lygmantas Daunotas (1-0) {1-0} versus Larry "The Time Bomb" Tanaka (5-6) {1-1}

I am really looking forward to this fight. I think Daunotas has a great shot at being a megastar. He is only nineteen years old and he is one and o so only time will tell if I am correct. Daunotas is a Muay Thai striker with a wrestling base so he should look to keep this fight standing. Tanaka is a well-rounded fighter who will have the advantage on the ground if he can get the take down. He can stand up with Daunotas but I think he has a better shot at winning on the ground. This is a tough fight to pick but I am going to have to go with Daunotas to win by TKO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Bruce Shashia (5-3) {3-2} versus Quagmire "Ohh" Yeah (2-1) {2-0}

Shashia is coming off a loss in fight that he should have won. Bruce was on a three fight win streak going up against Bryant. I thought he was costing to a 30-27 win when out of nowhere Bryant locked on one amazing submission hold. Shashia was forced to tap out and now he is back on the preliminaries. His best shot of winning is keeping this fight standing. Yeah lost his debut but then signed on with HFC and he has won his last two fights. He is a submission fighter with good wrestling and decent Jiu Jitsu. Obviously he can’t bang with Shashia so he will need to get this fight to the ground. I think Yeah will get the fight down to the ground and win by submission in the third round just like Bryant.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

"The Wasp" Wayde West (3-1) {3-1} versus Josh "The Chris Bosh" Laston (4-2) {1-0}

The former champ West needs to get a win in this one. He lost his last fight which cost him his undefeated record and also the Honor Fighting Championship Middleweight Title. West is a great striker highlighted by his TKO and knockout victories that he has had. For clear reasons he should look to keep the fight standing. Laston has had one fight in HFC and he won the fight with a submission but I don’t think he will be able to submit West. He is going to need to point West out at all costs. This should be a tough fight for both of these guys and it’s tough but I am picking West to win in the second round with a TKO.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Vedran Milosevic (3-1) {3-1} versus "GroundnPound" Kevin Coonaments (4-6) {1-4}

Vedran really needs to step up with his level of competition. He is three and one and really has not faced anyone of importance yet. He should try and stand up for this fight since he will have a slight advantage with the striking. If he must go to the ground he will have to stay on top or he will lose this fight. Coonaments is the opposite of Vedran. He has a record of one and four in HFC but he has taken on the top of the division for most of his fights. A win here and he could jump start his career back to life and to do that he will need to put Vedran on his back and ground and pound his way to victory. I don’t think that will happen and I got my money on Milosevic to win by submission in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Steve "Cobra" Cox (4-0-1) {4-0-1} versus bj "Boogieman" Ferguson (30-16) {2-1}

For some reason I love good young fighters. Cox fits that mold perfectly. He has four wins and in his last fight he earned his first finish. He does have one negative mark on his record as he fought former HFC fighter Gabriel Douglas to a draw. He is going up against experience in this fight but he will be fine as long as he uses his wrestling correctly. Ferguson is a forty six fight veteran and he loves to work on the ground. I think Cox is a better wrestler so he could be in big trouble. While I think this fight should be pretty close I am going to give the decision win to Steve Cox since he is a little better wrestler than Ferguson.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Middleweight Bout (185lbs)

Erick Rootmans (8-4) {0-1} versus Duke Ellington (15-9) {2-0}

Rootmans lost his HFC debut by being submitted in the second round. That was his fourth loss of his career and it marked the second time he was finished. Rootsman does have a somewhat developed ground game but his true skill lies in his striking. He has four wins by (T)KO which is half of his wins. He should always look to keep the fight standing with how much skill he has in those hands and feet. Ellington was twelve and nine going into his last fight for SPNY. He got a win and hoped on to a plane where he started his Honor Fighting Championship Career. He has won both of his fights in HFC putting him on a three fight win streak which seems to be his style. Ellington is going to want to stand with Rootsmans and that could be a bad idea for him. I am going to pick Rootsmans to win by decision after a three round slugfest.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Featherweight Title Fight (145lbs)

DeMario "McDojo Blackbelt" Williams (8-2) {3-0} versus Marcus Chandler (7-3) {1-0}

I have said it before and I will say it again Williams is awesome. He has an eight and two record and here in HFC he is three and o. He is a great wrestler and he loves to use the ground and pound to win fights. He is a little submission savvy currently holding a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but he has yet to submit someone. Chandler I am not sure deserves this fight but he got the chance to take on the champ. He is also a purple belt and he has a high level of wrestling so when this fight goes to the ground nobody will have an advantage. Chandler does have the advantage in the striking department so he should lay it on thick every time these two are standing. This is a very tough call but I am going to pick Chandler to win the fight by decision after a five round war.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

"THE KING" Oliver Queen (19-14) {2-1} versus "Pretty Pete" Peter Parker (24-12) {1-1}

This should be a great match up at featherweight. Queen is nineteen and fourteen with the majority of his wins coming by TKO. He is a very well rounded fighter and he will stand up and strike with you or take you to the ground and pound you into submission. Either way you are getting punched in the face. Queen will need to let his fists fly if he hopes to win this one. Parker is twenty four and twelve with a majority of his wins coming by decision. The real concerning thing is Queen is a great striker and eight of Parker’s twelve losses have come by TKO. That is the reason I am picking Queen to win this fight by knockout.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Drazen Kadoic (25-16) {0-0} versus Laz "Flying hollander" Icarus (21-12) {0-0}

Kadoic is a well-rounded fighter who loves to strike. He has twenty five career wins with seventeen of those coming by (T)KO. He just left GAMMA where he was only three and four and o and one in title fights there. He did beat Binzo Binzo though which is a huge accomplishment. Icarus is also a striker but he might be over matched in this one. He needs to learn how to submit people in the next few hours if he wants to win this fight. Icarus has never been knocked out, but that’s ok because I picked Kadoic to win by decision anyways.

As I said before what a great lineup of fights as we not only have the big title fight but we have a former GAMMA fighter taking on a former EVO fighters. I am certainly excited and I hope you all are to. I will see you for the review of Wednesday Warfare IX.
