Author:Tony Rossi

Barbarian Fight Time 9 gives us a huge rematch that I am sure many people want to see. It will be for the Lightweight Championship as we get to see Lepew defend against Zachary White. This should be one hell of an event as we also will have in action Rafael Silva, Adrian Silva, James Granger and Cheech Marin just to name a few. I hope all of you enjoy watching this event as much as I will enjoy writing it up.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Rodrigo "Hell Hand" Medeiros (1-2) {0-2} versus Nestor "Toro" Gonzalez (2-2) {1-2}

Our first bout of the night will be contested at light heavyweight and it will feature two guys that are looking to get into the swing of things. Medeiros is one and two with both fights in BFC ending in a loss. If he wants to get a win here he will need to keep this fight standing so he can use his boxing to take an advantage in this fight. Gonzalez does have a win in BFC but he also has two losses. Nestor can strike but he will be at a disadvantage in this one so he should look to take this fight to the ground. Nestor is not a Jiu Jitsu master but he does have the better ground skills. I don’t think Nestor will be able to get this fight to the ground so I am picking Medeiros to win this fight by TKO in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Guilherme "Caxa" Dellelo (0-1) {0-1} versus Hakeem Ali (2-2) {1-1}

Dellelo is the older fighter and he needs to use that to his advantage. Both of these fighters are ground fighters but Dellelo has no standup game at all, so he will need to take this fight to the ground early and often if he wants to get his first win as a professional. Ali is two and two with a BFC record of one and one. Ali is a grappler but he does have some boxing in his background. He will want to take advantage of that boxing since Dellelo is the better wrestler and Jiu Jitsu practitioner. I think this fight goes to the ground early and Dellelo will get the submission victory in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Diego "Nightmare" Rios (2-2) {2-2} versus Daniel "Danny" Willians (1-2) {1-1}

Rios has had every one of his fights right here in Barbarian Fight Club. He is currently two and two and this nineteen year old is on a two fight losing streak. He should keep this fight standing as he is the better striker. If things get dicey he could go to the ground since he is a better Jiu Jitsu fighter but that is not his specialty so it could be ugly. I am not sure what Willians will do here. Maybe he will look to clinch and use his knees to wear down Rios but Willians is overmatched in this one. He will not be able to take the fight to the ground or stand at range and strike. If he can get to the clinch he might be able to pull this one out but I don’t think he will so I am picking Rios to win by TKO in the third round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Bout (185lbs)

Rodrigo Dos Santos (1-0) {0-0} versus Generic "The Python" Brazilian (1-2) {0-2}

Dos Santos will be making his BFC debut in this fight and he is coming in with a one and one record in his very short career. This twenty five year old wrestling brown belt won his only fight by decision but I don’t think he can let this one go to the judges. He will need to mix up his ground game a little bit more so he can get to a better position to try and take down Generic. Brazilian is zero and two in Barbarian and one and two in his entire career. He is also a wrestler and a brown belt so these two are almost identical on the ground. Brazilian will have an advantage while these two stand, so maybe he should think about not taking this fight to the ground. Since Brazilian does have a finish on his record I am going to pick him to win this fight by submission in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Andrews "The Striker" Silver (2-1) {1-1} versus Hyun "Hanzo" Sung (0-0) {0-0}

In our last fight of the preliminaries we will see Andrews The Striker Silver who is coming fresh off a loss and will be looking for retribution. He is a wrestler and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but he prefers to ground and pound instead of looking for submissions. Sung will be making his debut in this fight and I can tell you one thing he will not want to go to the ground with Silver. Sung is a boxer and a wrestler so he should use his wrestling to avoid the ground as he hammers away at Silver. I think Sung can win this fight but I can’t pick him since it will be his first fight. I got Silver winning by TKO in the first round.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Pit "Bulldog" Mies (6-3) {3-3} versus Martinez Eluard (1-1) {0-0}

Mies is the most exprenced fighter that will be featured on this card. He has had nine fights and he is currently six and three, but all three of his losses came in Barbarian Fight Club. He has a BFC record of three and three and he will look to bring that up to four and three by turning this into a ground war. Eluard is one and one but this will be his first fight in Barbarian Fight Club. Eluard is a boxer but he has a good background in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so if this does go to the ground he will have a chance to still pull out a win. I think this is a horrible match up for Mies so I am picking Eluard to win by submission in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Paulo Sanchez (2-1) {0-0} versus Cheech "Tokemaster" Marin (3-1) {2-1}

Sanchez will be making his debut at Barbarian Fight Club. To get a win he will need to get the fight to the ground where he can use his Jiu Jitsu skills to try and get a submission. He is a good solid wrestler and a purple belt so he will have a slight advantage on the ground. Marin is also a wrestler and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but he is not as good of a wrestler as Sanchez. Marin is the better stand up fighter but I don’t think he will be able to turn this fight into a brawl. Marin should look to score as many points while standing and try to keep the ground even to point out this fight. I think this fight is ending in a submission and I will give the second round finish to Sanchez.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Adrien "leão" Silva (3-1) {2-1} versus Pedro Couture (3-3) {1-3}

I am excited to see this fight as I am becoming a big Silva fan. He is currently three and one with a BFC record of two and one. Silva does have some standup skill but for the most part he is a ground fighter. He has a solid wrestling and he holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu so we know he will be looking to take this fight to the ground. Couture will not want to go anywhere near the ground with Silva but I am not sure he will be able to avoid it. Pedro is a boxer and a wrestler who has a three and three record and two of his losses came by submission. That means he struggles against Jiu Jitsu fighters so I have to give the fight to Silva in this one. I think Silva ends this one early in the first round via submission.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Rafael Silva (5-2) {3-1} versus "The Game Changer" James Granger (5-3) {1-0}

Lots of expeirnce shared by these two in this one. These two have a combined record of ten and five. Silva is five and two with all of his wins coming by way of submission. He loves the ground game and he will be looking to get this fight to the ground as quickly as possible. Granger is one and o in Barbarian Fight Club but he has a five and three record overall. He is also a ground fighter with three of his wins coming by submission and the other two coming by decision. These two are almost identical in skill so it will be a rough one to pick. I will flip a coin and say Silva wins by submission in the second round.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Lightweight Title Fight (155lbs)

Pepe "Warner" Lepew (6-0) {5-0} versus Zachary "Zap Zap" White (6-1) {4-1}

This is the fight we all have been waiting on. In the first matchup between these two White was not able to get out of Lepew’s clinch. Pepe does have one of the best clinches I have ever seen. Hopefully White has learned how to stay to the outside in this one if he wants to get the big title win. He could also look to pull guard from the clinch and if he can it would put both of these fighters into a place they don’t want to be. I think White is the better striker so if he can just avoid or get out of the clinch we will have a new Lightweight Champion. This is a tough call but since Lepew won their first one I will pick him to win again. I got him winning by TKO in the second round just like he did last time.

What an action packed card with a lot of my favorite non welterweight fighters from BFC. This has potential to be one of the best events held by Barbarian Fight Club and we will find out if it is in just a few hours.
