Event Preview: HONOR FC 11 Vendetta
HONOR Fighting Championship
2014-04-12, Las Vegas, Hard Knocks - Las Vegas
Author:Tony Rossi

Honor keeps on raising the stakes when it comes to events. Now this one will not be battling for first among event ratings from previous Honor shows but Honor FC 11 Vendetta will be one amazing show. We are hoping to pack the Hard Knocks for this great event. Meet the Future will be in full force for the event so please pick up any of your clothing needs from them.

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Johnny "Brutal" Bedford (15-13) {1-2} versus Sun "Kakarot" Wukong (5-2) {3-1}

Bedford is a career journeymen and he has a record of fifth teen and thirteen. Twelve of his fifth teen wins have come by decision so it would seem that he lacks the killer instinct to go for the ending. He is a wrestler who clearly struggles with Jiu Jitsu fighters as he has been submitted nine times. Su Wukong is five and two and he is trying to climb the HFC ranks. He lost to another journeyman in his last fight and I think that will happen again. He relies so much on his wrestling and Bedford is the better and more experienced wrestler. I got Bedford winning this fight by decision.

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Mica "Zli Covek" Gavric (4-1) {0-0} versus Tim Tupy (1-2) {1-2}

Gavric will be making his Honor debut and he is bringing in a four and one record. Three of his four wins came by way of submission as he really loves to show off his brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Gavirc is trying to not become a one trick pony and he has improved his boxing and Muay Thai over the last few weeks. Tupy has not done very well. He is one and two and he hasn’t won a fight in a long time. He is currently riding a two fight losing streak and he needs to avoid the ground to get off of it. I think Gavric will get the fight to the ground and submit Tupy in the second round.

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Bantamweight Fight (135lbs)

Aj Smith (17-16-1) {0-2} versus Austin "Hollywood" Worner (18-19) {2-2}

This fight will feature two journeymen, that’s right I said journeymen again. At least now we are starting to see them falling to the preliminaries and that is a great thing. Smith is a thirty four fight veteran with a record of seventeen sixteen and one. Since coming to HFC he has lost both of his fights and he will look to turn things around. Worner has been in thirty seven fights and he currently one fight below fifty percent. Worner loves to look for submissions when he is not getting knocked out, but he is not a great grappler so he has that pulling him back as well. I think the fight will go to the ground but Smith is the far better grappler so I will be picking him to win by submission in the first round.

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

"Pretty Pete" Peter Parker (24-13) {1-2} versus Todd Flanders (16-11-1) {1-1}

Pretty Pete is one and two in HFC which has lowered his overall record to twenty four and thirteen. He holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu but in his twenty seven fight career he has yet to win via submission. He has ten TKO’s and he has won fourteen fights by decision so he does not mind going the distance. Flanders is sixteen eleven and one and he is currently one and one in Honor. He has almost and identical build as Parker but he has not been able to execute it as well. He does have a higher knock out percentage but it is nothing that is extremely great. This will be a close fight and I think it goes all three rounds and I have Parker winning by decision maybe not even unanimously though.

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Kshitij Singh Negi (11-4) {1-2} versus "The Wasp" Wayde West (4-1) {4-1}

Negi was left by his last manager while still under contract with HFC. He signed with Andy Clark before accepting the fight with the former champ Wayde West. Negi will look to work the clinch while mixing in some knees and elbows so he can try and get on top of HFC while under new management. West as I already said is the former Middleweight Champion and he will be looking to improve his record to five and one in this fight. West is a Muay Thai fighter who has a good clinch game, but I am not sure he should clinch with Negi. If I was West I would turn this into a boxing match and then mix in some high kicks to catch him off guard. I am picking West to win this fight by TKO in the second round but it could go either way.

Main Card Bout Number 1- Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

"Knifeman" Brett Riverboat (15-6) {1-0} versus Laz "Flying hollander" Icarus (21-13) {0-1}

Brett Riverboat is a striking specialist. He has a record of fifth teen and six with all fifth teen of his wins coming by TKO. He was on a three fight losing streak before winning his debut fight in Honor and if that was the one thing he needed to click I would watch out if I am a light heavyweight in Las Vegas. Icarus is twenty one and thirteen and he is a well-rounded fighter. He also has fifth teen wins by TKO so I exspect him to stand and strike with Riverboat and that’s a real bad idea. I think Riverboat takes this with ease and I got him winning via TKO in the second round.

Main Card Bout Number 2- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Dack Fayden (8-3) {0-0} versus Artur "Iceman" Ross (13-5) {1-0}

Dack Fayden will be making his HFC debut coming in with an eight and three record. He has a good stand up game and great wrestling all being backed by a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Seven of his eight wins have come by submission so he will be looking to get this fight to the ground. Ross is one and o in Honor and he seen him get a big TKO win in his fight here. That brought his record up to thirteen and five while giving him his ninth win by TKO. He will need to stay off the ground in this one but I think Fayden will get the fight to the mat and win by submission in the first round.

Main Card Bout Number 3- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

"The Assassin Reborn" Darwin France (21-6) {1-1} versus Roy "The Wardog" Pitbull (22-12-1) {2-0}

France is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and he is a top notch wrestler. That’s not all though as he does pack a decent stand up game to really round himself out as a fighter. He will look to get this fight to the ground so he can use his grappling skills in this one as he will be less out matched on the ground than in the stand up. Pitbull is one of the best rounded fighters I have seen. There are just no holes in his game anywhere. He can fight on the ground or keep it standing and he is a good enough game planer to make the adjustment. He should look to stay away from the ground in this one but if it does hit the mat he should be just fine. I think Pitbull just out matches France in every way so I am picking him to win by TKO in the second round.

Co Main Event Main Card Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

Kaito "Tsunami" Rin (18-6) {1-0} versus "Mr. GO TO SLEEP" Tyler Brooks (23-12) {1-0}

We get to see Rin back in action after his recent unanimous decision win which was his debut in Honor Fighting Championship. Rin does not have the killer instinct to finish fights but he is so highly skilled in the stand up and ground game he can point out a lot of fights for a w. He will need to be firing on all cylinders to get the big win in this one. Brooks fought just a few days ago and he is ready to come back and co main event us tonight. He got a big win against LHE in his last fight and that brought him up to twenty three and twelve for his career. Most of his wins have come by submission but he does have a few decision wins. Brooks has really never worked on his stand up so he has to get this fight to the ground. Since Rin does not look to finish fights I think we will see Brooks get on top at some point and he will then submit Rin. I see this happening late in round three.

Main Event Main Card Bout Number 5- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

"Uszol" Rafal Dabrowski (17-5) {1-0} versus "The Bay Harbour Butcher" Dexter Morgan (12-5) {2-0}

It is main event time and boy do we have a great one for you. Dabrowski is seventeen and five with a majority of his wins coming by TKO. It is well spread out though with submissions and decision making up more than half of his wins. That shows his ability to game plan and also stresses how well rounded Rafal really is. Morgan who has an awesome nickname by the way is coming in with a twelve and five record. Morgan also has a majority of his wins coming by way of TKO but he has submissions and decision victories just like Dabrowski. Morgan is not as well rounded as Rafal and he will need to get this fight to the ground and be on top to win this thing. Neither one of these guys have been knocked out and I don’t see that starting tonight so I will pick Rafal Dabrowski to win this fight by decision tonight.

Very interesting and exciting fights going down tonight and Barbarian Betting and RISSA betting and banking will have all the odds so get out there and get some cash thrown down for this one. We will see you tonight at the Hard Knocks.
