Good evening Honor fans, Calvin Hobbes again. Sorry I missed the last event I was throwing a going away party for a friend and had no time to sit down. Well, Monk had some trouble filling this card but at the last minute managed to find an even better main card. Thank god for fighters that take fights on short notice. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

Preliminary Bout Number 1 – Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

Junior “PitBull” Flores (4-4) VS. Nobuhiko “CIMA” Oshima (1-1)

First up tonight, we got a Lightweight fight. Flores is coming out here again after fighting exactly 1 week ago, where he got KO’d in the second round. He said he’s feeling fresh and wants to redeem that loss as quickly as possible so Monk made it happen. Oshima is bouncing around weight classes like nobody’s business. He’s fought at middleweight, Light heavy, and now he’s fighting at Lightweight. He’s 1-1 and won his last fight via Kneebar in the first round. Let’s see if he’s able to secure another victory tonight.

Prediction: I think Oshima has got the tools to take this fight, assuming he doesn’t get KO’d early. Oshima via submission in the 1st or 2nd round.

Preliminary Bout Number 2 – Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Chris “The Crippler” Coryatt (11-8) VS. “The Real O.G. Ragnar Lothbrok (3-1)

Next up, we got some very talented Light Heavyweights. Both guys love to keep it standing and this will probably be a war. Coryatt is a Muay Thai fighter and Lothbrok is more of a boxer. There’s been long winded arguments about which is better for MMA, boxing or Muay Thai and I think these guys are both going to try and prove a point. Although, Coryatt does have the superior BJJ so maybe he’ll look to use that to his advantage? I guess we’ll find out

Prediction: Regardless if Coryatt takes this to the ground, he has the edge in experience, and I personally prefer Muay thai over Boxing, so I go with Coryatt by KO/TKO in the 2nd.

Preliminary Bout Number 3 - Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

“Psycho” Walter Bishop (12-5) VS. “Cold Storm” Markus Vinicius (14-15)

Bishop is flying out here all the way from London, he’s been on a three fight losing streak since he won the belt, and then lost it in his next fight. All three of those losses were via TKO, I think his chin is starting to fail him… Vinicius is also coming out following a loss on May 21st against Dack Fayden. This guy has been knocked out 12 times in his career and is only 3-3 here in Honor. As far as strategies go, Bishop is definitely going to want to get this to the ground so utilize his superior BJJ, whereas Vinicuis will obviously want to keep it standing to utilize his Boxing advantage.

Prediction: Tough call here, but I think I’m going to go with Bishop.

Preliminary Bout Number 4 – Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

Khru "Big Buddah" Maokhamphiou (7-4-1) VS. Mica "Zli Covek" Gavric (5-3)

I’m just gonna use these guys first names so I don’t sound an idiot trying to pronounce them. Khru is on a three fight losing streak and really needs a win here. Mica is 5-3 and 2 of his losses are right here in Honor, looks like the step up in competition is proving to be a problem for him. Let’s see if he’s able to continue Khru’s losing streak, or give him the much needed win.

Prediction: Khru’s got some pretty solid takedown defense which I think will help him keep this standing so that he can get the much needed KO/TKO win.

Preliminary Bout Number 5 – Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

Boris JorJovsky (14-6) VS. “Pretty Pete” Peter Parker (25-15)

For the last prelim fight, we have two older and well known fighters. JorJovsky is on a 4 fight win streak looking to extend it to 5. He’s a BJJ black belt and has 12/14 wins by submission. Let’s see if he can keep his streak going. Peter Parker is coming out here after securing a victory last week, which he desperately needed. Prior to that he was on a 4 fight losing streak and ann came via TKO early. This guys chin seems to be giving out. Good thing is that his opponent is more of a ground fighter, and he’s never be submit before. Should be an interesting fight and maybe a fire reignited for Parker.

Prediction: Hm, tough call. I can’t be bothered to see who Parker has fought in the past to judge what his submission defense is like. But his takedown defense seems pretty good. So I think I’ll go with Parker here by TKO or decision.

Main Card Bout Number 1 – Light Heavyweight Fight (205lbs)

“Dangerous” Phillip Finnegan (5-3) VS. Derec “The Dirty” Waller (3-0)

Finnegan is coming out getting a win to cover his previous loss. He’s a standup fighter who loves to throw it down. He’s got some pretty good takedown defense and he’s never even been passed the first round and all of his wins are via KO/TKO. Waller is on a 3-0 win streak, all coming off KO/TKOs in under 30 seconds. Wow this guy has some power and has no problem finishing fights. This is man is a force to be reckoned with for sure.

Prediction: All I know is that we’re going to see a knockout. The question is if Finnegan will be able to survive Wallers power? I think so. Finnegan is one of my favorites. Finnegan by KO/TKO

Main Card Bout Number 2 – Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

"The Muharib" Mohamed al Hadj (23-15) VS. Dom "Dueces Wild" Danky (22-13-1)

Man, there’s a lot of experienced fighters in this org now, and especially on this card. Al Hadj is coming off a loss at HONOR FC 17 Showdown where he was submit by Bilbo Baggins in the first round. I don’t know too much else about this guy other than the fact that he leaves a lot to the judges, whether that’s on purpose or is a result of not being able to finish fights is beyond me. Danky also lost his last fight, but his was via judge’s decision. He’s also a standup fighter and seems to be most active in the clinch. Let’s see if he’s able to utilize that and get a win tonight.

Prediction: I honestly have no clue, these guys have similar skillsets and similar records. I think I’ll give this one to Hadj though.

Main Card Bout Number 3 – Light Heavyweight Title Fight (205lbs)

Al "KO" Hallick (5-1) VS. Mari "Smoke" Juana (10-4)

Well, Hallick definitely lives up to his nickname. This dude has gotten all of his victories via KO/TKO and has won 3 KO of the Night Awards in the process. He throws some wicked head kicks and has never been passed the first round. Juana is an older follow who just got into MMA around the age of 25. His focus is on wrestling and BJJ and he’ll be looking to take this fight to the ground and impose his will on Hallick and prevent him from getting the KO.

Prediction: I think I’m gonna go with Juana on this one. I really think he’ll be able to get this fight to the ground and submit Hallick pretty easily.

Co Main Event – Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Dack Fayden (10-5) VS. Bobby "The Next Big Thing" Shamrock (8-4)

For our Co-Main event, we have some pretty popular fighters. Fayden is a submission artist who loves getting his fights to the ground and attempting submission after submission until he finally locks something in… or gets KO’d. His game plan is fairly obvious and I hope Shamrock is able to do something about it. Shamrock is coming off 2 straight KO/TKO wins and will be looking to keep this fight standing as his opponent has the better ground game.

Prediction: I have no idea, but I hate sub spammers so I’m going with Shamrock via KO.

Main Event - Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

Tyrion "The Imp" Lannister (17-5) VS. Takeshi Watanabe (10-7)

Now it’s time for the fight you’ve all been waiting for, our Main Event of the evening. Lannister is riding a 4 fight win streak, a lot of which were via judge’s decision. His last fight out was against Ethan Harris and he was able to secure the victory and become the new, HONOR FC welterweight champion. For those of you who are curious, because this fight was on short notice it is not a title fight. Watanabe is a world class boxer, with an incredible chin. He’s won all 10 of his fights via KO/TKO and is coming off a loss to Eduardo Alvarez where he got caught in an arm triangle in the first round. Let’s see if he can come back from that loss and secure another win.

Prediction: I think that due to Watanabe only being a white belt in BJJ, if Lannister chooses to take this fight to the ground he’ll have no problem submitting him. Lannister via submission.

Well, that’s it for tonight. We have some incredible power that will be put on display tonight and as well as some Black belts and basically everything inbetween. I think this is going to be a great card and I’m really looking forward to the result. Catch you guys tomorrow the highlights!
