Interview With Mikaiah "Boomstick" Rynn

Fighter profile of Mikaiah Rynn by

Greetings fight fans, Mogan Lightning here, official interviewer for New York Fight Nights. I have with me the newly crowned, highly exciting, Light Heavyweight champion Mikaiah “Boomstick” Rynn. He will be facing the dangerous striker Louis “Big Hitter” Delmas in his next bout at NYFN 3 on the 8th of August 2014 live from the Hard Knocks Arena New York. This will be “Boomstick”s first attempt at defending the crown he has worked so hard to get. So let’s get down to it:

Mikaiah “Boomstick” Rynn

Mogan: Coming off the back of 4 straight (T) KO victories the last of which won you the new York fight night light heavy weight title, how do you feel about going up against Louis Delmas? Is he the greatest threat you have faced so far in your career?

Mikaiah: In my last match I was underestimated. Some felt as if I was a big underdog, but that fight not only did I beat my opponent, his manager sacked him afterwards. Delmas has been with his new manager for a month or so, and even though his new manager is one of the best, I still think my last match was a bigger stepping stone than this upcoming match against Delmas. Nothing against Delmas, of course, but he will lose.

Mogan: What’s your game plan going in, do you intend on exchanging on the feet or using your superior ground game to claim your 5th successive victory, handing Delmas only his second loss to date?

Mikaiah: My game plan is winning. Plain and simple

Mogan: They say the first title defence is the hardest for new champions, if you manage to pull it off what’s the plan for after party? I imagine it getting a bit messy.

Mikaiah: After this title defence I will go back to training and await the next victim. I have some big goals for my career and I need to get back to work in the gym. See, I work hard in the gym every day. When it comes to having a fight, that's like a day off for me.

Mogan: Looking past Delmas for a moment, if we dare, who would you like to face in the division coming off the back of this? Who do you see as a potential ‘match’ for you and your well rounded game?

Mikaiah: I will fight anyone, but no offense to the rest of the class, but there is nobody that I look forward to facing or am scared to face. There are no "matches" for my skillset and that's because I work hard in the gym to keep improving every day.

Mogan: Finally Louis Delmas is obviously a very dangerous guy and a rightful contender to your throne, with both of you being dealing your fair share of knockouts what’s your prediction for this fight?

Mikaiah: Half of my fights have been 1st round KO wins. It's hard not to predict that same outcome yet again. Delmas has never been KO’d before, but I look forward to giving him his first one.

So there we have it fight fans an insight into the mind of a champion, aiming for nothing less than absolute perfection. NYFN 3 promises to be another great event and Rynn V Delmas is only going to end one way, one man flat out on the mat. Which man will that be though? Rynn has laid his cards on the table and predicted it will be him; does he have the minerals to back up his bold statement? I personally believe he does and will be adding another KO victory to his impressive record. However, this is MMA and anything can happen. New York Fight Nights has a great depth in its roster so I will see you again soon for another fighter interview
