 Troid’s Next Top Fighter!

Round 3

Arena:                            The Underground (1,000)

Date:                              17th September 2014

Merch Partner:             Bad Man Clothing

Hey everyone, and welcome to the third round of the Troid’s Next Top Fighter! Tournament. It seems we have had a few drop outs from the last round, with only 8 fights taking place, but that won’t stop the preview from being brought out. Let’s get right down to the action, starting with….

FIGHT #1

Joe The (1-1-0) vs Timothy Christopher (0-3-0)

Timothy Christopher is on a bad run of results right now, but he will be looking to put that right and get some points on the board when he takes on Joe The, who also lost in the last round. Christopher was very tired going into his last fight, but he is looking a lot fresher today, and that won’t be good news for The. We have yet to see what Christophers main offense will be, but he will have to be cautious that the fight does not go to the mat, where The holds a significant BJJ advantage.

PREDICTION: The to win via Submission in Round 2

FIGHT #2

Renan Melo (1-0-0) vs Sebastian Scrooge (0-2-0)

Here we have Renan Melo, replacement for Billy Balls Jr, having his first fight in the tournament against Sebastian Scrooge. Scrooge has been largely unfortunate so far in this tournament, and this fight will be a contest to see which fighter has the better ground game. Melo holds a brown belt, while Scrooge holds a purple belt, and both fighters have experience in wrestling. I expect to see a good display of BJJ from both of these fighters in this fight.

PREDICTION: Melo to win via Submission in Round 1

FIGHT #3

Mr Evil (1-1-0) vs Ethan Kent (0-2-0)

A good fight here, as the calm and composed Mr Evil takes on the soon departing Ethan Kent. With Kent’s replacement in the tournament confirmed, he will look to go out with a W in his record, but Evil will be looking to pile on the misery for him. Kent’s style of fighting is unknown, which will be a problem for Evil to plan for, but the same can be said for him. I really don’t know what to expect here, but I will be keeping a close eye on this one.

PREDICTION: Evil to win via (T)KO in Round 2

FIGHT #4

Geralt of Rivia (1-1-0) vs Conor McCracken (1-1-0)

Both of these fighters have been active in the smack talk thread lately, and it now comes down to walking the walk rather than talking the talk. Of Rivia suffered a swift loss in his last fight, but showed, erm, determination afterwards. His focus is solely on winning this fight, and getting back to the top of the league. McCracken showed no signs of letting his last fight disrupt his training and he was back in the gym quickly. With the gift of the gab, courtesy of the Blarney Stone, he now looks to show he is equally as gifted at fight. This is one not to be missed, as two of the more popular fighters from this season collide!

PREDICTION: of Rivia to win via Unanimous Decision

FIGHT #5

Jimmy Doyle (0-2-0) vs Junior Singh (2-0-0)

Two fighters who have had complete opposite fortunes so far in this tournament collide, and a bad result for either will leave their league chances in a bad way. Doyle may have had two losses so far, but he has faced two of the top placed fighters so far, so he can now look to get a winning streak going. Singh, meanwhile, has yet to face one of the top placed fighters, but he will look to keep himself in that bracket by winning here. Singh will be looking for a KO win, but Doyle’s granite chin may help him to survive this fight.

PREDICTION: Singh to win via (T)KO in Round 3

FIGHT #6

Jack Cain (1-2-0) vs Charles Carlyle (1-1-0)

A good mid table fight here with one fighter moving towards the top, while the other slides down. Cain and Carlyle both have the tools needed to be a top contender in this season, and they will both be there or thereabouts come the end. Cain shows he has heavy hands and crushed Alvy Singer in 30 seconds! Charles Carlyle, meanwhile, has bounced back from a Round 1 loss to gain a victory in the last round. He also showed signs of a Granite Chin, which will help him in withstanding Cains striking.

PREDICTION: Carlyle to win via Submission in Round 2

CO-MAIN EVENT!

FIGHT #7

Sammy DeStefano (1-1-0) vs Oliver Heath (2-0-0)

A very good co-main event here for you in this fight. DeStefano comes into this fight on a high after winning via UD in his last fight. His opponent, however, is on an undefeated season so far, and he will look to continue his fine run of form. Heath will look to utilise his clinch game here, while DeStefano will look for a first KO win of the season.

PREDICTION: Heath to win via (T)KO in Round 3

MAIN EVENT!

FIGHT #8

Commander Shepard (2-0-0) vs Yuri Boshtok (2-0-0)

Here we have two of the seasons juggernauts go at it in our main event. Shepard has been impressing everybody with his performances so far, but he must not get complacent, or his opponent will make him suffer for it. Boshtok is on a good run as well, and will feel he is the man to take on Shepard and beat him. Whoever wins this fight will set themselves away from the pack, and be the frontrunner so far in the competition!

PREDICTION: Shepard to win via (T)KO in Round 2

A good card available for people to see, and one that will have major implications in all areas of the league table. Be sure to look at it after this round to see where the fighters all stand, and please make sure to accept all fight offers when you receive them!
