GAMMA Gossip #44

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

I have not done a GAMMA Gossip since February and i think the time has come for an update!

General MMA Scene

I guess the biggest news around the globe is the demise of Herioc, one of the main GAMMA competitors for the past couple of years. Most of their roster merged over to Syn or Ascension after they dispanded. The rights to the org history was rebought by Steel Penn and they revived the old brand.

GAMMA has done particularly well since the last time i have written considering the hate campaigns and bribes to leave our roster. We kept our roster in tact and we are keeping our position in the top 4-5 orgs in the world dispite running 6 events per month. In fact our total amount of top 1000 p4p and top 100 p4p fighters has actually increased since the last time i wrote a GAMMA Gossip in February!

In this Gossip i want to focus more on the situation in each division.

145lbs

Ein Stein (182566) has solidified the 145lbs title. Back in spring this division was very open, but Ein Stein is quickly running out of contenders for the title. To add to his run is the fact that Ein is managed by GAMMA legendary manager Mr Gutz which guided his other fighters Anton Chigurh and Alan Bundy to GAMMA titles in the past. He is fighting Tatsuya Kawajiri for the title in the next fight. Tatsuya is on a 6 fight winnning steak himself, so it should be good.

155lbs

Xavier Cid (96071) is the current champion with one defence to his name so far. He joined us only recently but went on a 3 fight winning streak and at 36y of age and with Jesse Wolf at his side, he seems very solid at the moment. He is waiting for the winner of Jimmy Snuka vs Larry David for his next fight. Jimmy is actually the most hyped fighter on the 155lbs roster.

170lbs

Russ Rutger (62373) is on a mission. He recently secured the #2 p4p spot with a massive win over Marshall Noir for the title. He is also our #1 candidate for the GAMMA fighter of the year and with a 13-1 year record you can see why. His manager Marky Mark is arguably the best manager in the game at the moment. How he can not be #1 ranking manager while holding onto 2 top 5 fighters is a serious mystery.

185lbs

Sergei Kravinoff (139202) is our current 185lbs champ. Managed by the legendary Lance Templeton Sergei has a lot to prove after beating Ejnar Thorsen for the title. Some of his competition think he did not deserve the title fight after losing out in the Bronze medal fight of the Olympics and one of those is Kris Hong which previously drawed in his title fight against Ejnar. 185lbs is also our most deep division together with 265+ and it got deeper since 205lbs ex-champ Jonny Victorio moved down to compete for the title.

205lbs

Jesse Custer (183716) is managed by 3 division GAMMA champion Gale Hawthorne. Jesse is probably the biggest prospect in the world at the moment. Syn rejected a super fight already for obvious reasons and Jesse has been on a rip since the start of the year. His recent run is 13-1 and is front runner together with Russ Rutger for the fighter of the year.

265lbs

Kenichi "The Strongest Disciple" Shirahama (112324)  is the champion of our 265lbs division. Managed by one of the top managers in the game for a while now, Whymer Van Mastodon. Kenichi is a 4 time 265lbs champ after recently regaining his title over Evander Holyshit. His next fight is the end of the trilogy against Jt Colossus. This is probably the last chance Jt will have for a title at the age of 40y!

265+lbs

Kyle Carlton (123905) was looking like an unstoppable force of nature until "The Power" Willy Stoppers (96278) ended his run of destruction. This makes it 2 fighters Jesse Wolf is currently managing as champion in GAMMA! A feat very few people have achieved at any one point in time. They are going to fight in their trilogy rematch in this month to decide who is the king of the Super Heavyweights.
