The story of Artur Levchenko (212250)

Fighter profile of Artur Levchenko by Bjorn O'Donnel

Artur Levchenko (212250)

During a cold winter night in Kiev ( Ukraine) , a young woman heard the crying of a baby cutting through the dark forest like a knife through butter. She immediately stopped her late evening jogging and looked around. She followed the sound and after a few seconds , she found a child, no bigger than a mouse. She was amazed and scared, but her motherfeelings made her pick him up.

She took the baby to the doctor the next day and she was told he was the smallest baby he had ever seen. He did some medical examinations and came to the conclusion that the boy needed a treatment for nearly every possible disease. It took 26 surgeries and over 12 years, but the boy survived.

As a teenager, he was a bit shy. He was too afraid to tell a girl he liked her, he ran away from a bully etc… When he was 16 , his mother decided it was time for Artur to go and train a martial art.
He didn’t want to do that at all, but after a long discussion, he went to the local gym. They laughed at him when he entered the building. How in hell was this small boy going to become a good fighter they wondered . Two hours later, the coaches knew that he was something special. He broke two jaws and five noses in his first sparring sessions that were intended to hurt him.

At the age of 18, he made his debut as a pro. His debut was a very dissapointing moment in his life. He got knocked out and was sent to the hospital afterwards.

Artur decided that this upset wasn’t going to let him lose his focus and kept grinding in the gym. He won the next 3 pro bouts, two by (t) KO. Since he hadn’t trained BJJ yet a lot, he got submitted, but that learned him to train himself into a more complete martial artist. Since that loss, he has become a completely new man. Levchencko has won an impressive 13 out of his 14 last fights. His only loss in that serie came by the hands of an elite muay thai fighter.

At the tender age of 24 years old , this Ukrainian powerpuncher has riled up an impressive record of 17-3-0 with 15 (t)KO wins! Artur Levchenko , a name to remember!
