The battle for supremacy in the apparel market of mixed martial arts universe, triggered by the arrival of Urban Fighter as they opened up their store in 15th December at New York. In a quick-fire campaign, the brand managed to ‘sold out’ in the first 12 hours of their opening day.

Serving the sports and athletic industry for nearly two decades, Urban Fighter is known for manufacturing shoes, gear and apparel, particularly for athletes in a whole range of sports such as baseball, golf, tennis, football etc. They are currently aiming to take hold of the mixed martial arts industry starting out from New York, a fighting mecha for generations.

“Everybody has to inspire and innovate themselves. People with a determination never falls down, they fall up. This is what we live every day, for the well being of our customers. Urban Fighter works on a basis of creativity and responsibility fused with a sunny Californian attitude.”

--Delish Sellicha, founder of Urban Fighter Inc.

Sellicha also said that they are planning to open stores in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with an aim of snaring 10 percent of the lucrative mixed martial arts apparel market. To show their own strength they are planning to organize major events within and outside the city. Recent high profile collaborations with veteran fighters like Sher Shah Suri and highly anticipated fighters Liam Davidson and Glen Gorman gradually boosts the publicity of the brand and inspire customers to discover the diversity of the brand.

“ Ninety-five percent of the New York’s mma-apparel market are shared by five main brands. Urban Fighter is currently going to shave at least twenty percent of this market.” The brokers said.

The surveys indicates that the top three clothing brands in New York is more exposed to competition as seventy-five percent of their customers expect to visit Urban Fighter.

Though, this clash is a threat to top mma brands today; it is certainly good for customers as this kind of competition being the best method of allocating resources in a free market and that all elements of a bargain-quality, service, safety, and durability-and not just the immediate cost, are favorably affected by the free opportunity to select among alternative offers.
