Extreme 3 - Preview and Predictions

MMA Tycoon fans, January 17th is a day you will want to mark on your calendars, because Extreme MMA presents the last round of the three part trilogy between current superheavyweight title holder Buddy Lyles and former holder Oooh Yeah, plus five more fights you will not want to miss! Coming to you live from Wild Bob's Bar in Hilo, Extreme 3 will be all that its being hyped up to be and the main event will bring back all the bad blood of the previous two fights and more! Shtaaf Reimish here to break them all down for you, including the fight of EMMA's history!

#4 Yoncy "The Wall" Lowvinceski (2-5-0) vs #5 Nathan Addams (0-0-0) 145lbs

In the first fight of the evening, we feature a rookie, Nathan Addams (0-0-0), who will look to get his pro career heading in the right direction against a struggling veteran in Yoncy Lowvinceski. Lowvinceski has lost both of his two fights in EMMA (Churchill via decision; Werdum via submission), but will be looking to use his well rounded skill set to combat anything Addams throws at him. One would think the 26-year-old Canadian may be at crossroads with his career if he does not win the fight, so that’s even more motivation to finally put another win in the column. Addams comes to EMMA after a brief wrestling career in his Spanish homeland and second round exit in the TWGC Hilo regionals where he submitted Jayy Morgan in the opening round and then got submitted himself by Bee Jay in the next round. Look for the teenager to utilize his wrestling abilities against his well rounded opponent Saturday. Lowvinceski by TKO.

#2 Rocky "Stonewall" Jameson (4-2-0) vs #4 Max "Blessed Diamond" Kimura (1-2-0) 135lbs

The second fight on tonight's card comes to us in the bantamweight division and features two former challengers looking to re-earn a title fight opportunity, Rocky "Stonewall" Jameson and Max "Blessed Diamond" Kimura. Jameson is currently 1-1-0 in EMMA and is hungrier than ever after he lost his EMMA debut. The Boston native was offered a title shot right out of the gate against former champ Deixa Anal whom he dominated in round 1 before Anal took over and TKO'd him with strikes in round 3. He then disposed of Jimmy Page in EMMA 1, 1 second before the end of round 1 and is hungrier than ever to keep the good times rolling. Kimura also lost a title fight, his coming 37 into round 1 to current champ Te Rauparaha. the Hawaii native will look to use his wide range of skills against his boxing based opponent Jameson. Should prove to be a good fight between two hungry fighters. Jameson by KO.

#6 Connor "The Notorious Carpenter" Guida (2-2-0) vs #2 Drew Churchill (1-0-0) 145lbs

Back to the featherweights we go as Connor "The Notorious Carpenter" Guida and Drew Churchill aim to supplant themselves as the next in line to challenge for the title. Guida comes into this bout after winning his EMMA debut by unanimous decision over Dion Fitzwater which earned him a title fight in which he lost to titleholder McSnifferpippitz via TKO with 3 seconds left in the first round. The Irishman will look to use that loss as fuel when he enters the octagon on Saturday. Churchill enters this fight after winning his pro debut at EMMA 1 versus Yoncy Lowvinceski. The Ignatius native thoroughly dominated his opponent from start to finish earning a unanimous decision. He will continue to rely on his superior Muay Thai skill set to lead him to victory. Churchill by decision.

#6 Tommy "Bahama Mama" Munson vs. #4 Victor Knight 185lbs

The next fight on the card is a middleweight bout between two guys looking to make a push in the ultra-competitive division that is the middleweight division, Tommy "Bahama Mama" Munson and Victor Knight. Munson fought just last weekend at Extreme 2 where he was submitted via the rear naked chokehold by #3 Dom Nik. Before that, Munson won a unanimous decision in the QFC against #9 Cranky Bich. Look for the Brazilian to take advantage of his wrestling abilities in his second EMMA bout. Knight is a well groomed teenager who can beat anyone a number of ways. He quickly disposed of Doni Gringo in the QFC in early December with his fists, but the Fayetteville native has solid Muay Thai and wrestling abilities as well. Should be a dandy as both fighters are looking to move up the ladder. Knight by TKO.

#2 "Hellraiser" Jason Fernandez (16-5-0) vs #5 Casey Bowman (1-1-0) 185lbs

In the co-main event of the evening, EMMA brings us huge middleweight fight between two excellent MMA fighters, "Hellraiser" Jason Fernandez and Casey Bowman in which the winner will surely earn a title shot opportunity for the vacant belt. Fernandez is a veteran of 21 pro bouts, winning his first 11. He has hit a recent funk, losing his last 2 fights, his last against Kezz the Convict at EMMA 1 via vicious strikes during a ground and pound session 5 seconds before the final bell. With a loss here, which would make it 3 in a row, one can wonder if we'll see Fernandez fight again, but he still has a ton of skills in the octagon, and won't roll over without a fight. Bowman is a young fighter who entered EMMA with a bang dominating Sumerod at DFL III before knocking him out cold with a huge left hook. The Tokyo native can box, Muay Thai, wrestle and Jiu-Jitsu with the best of them, so you have to like his chances of hanging in there with Fernandez. Fernandez by submission.

265+lbs Championship Title

#1 Oooh Yeah (4-1-0) vs (C) Buddy "Boom Boom" Lyles (4-1-0) 265+lbs

And now, for the main event everybody has been anxiously waiting for, the finale of a three fight title trilogy for the undisputed superheavyweight champion of the world, challenger Oooh Yeah takes on the champ Buddy "Boom Boom" Lyles in what will be the fight of the EMMA thus far! With both fighters winning all the pro fights other than versus each other, let's recap the first two fights of the trilogy. In the first fight, the two fighters stood in there and chucked fists for two minutes before Yeah cut Lyles open and then knocked him out cold with a huge hook 2:35 into round 1. The second bout lasted a bit longer however, all five rounds in fact. Yeah kept the fight close through the first two rounds, but as the fight wore on into the championship rounds, Lyles took control and won in on the score cards. There is so little between these two fighters to dissect it to the core, other than to say it should be truly magnificent! Its east coast versus west coast in a battle of 25-year-old American fighters for the superheavyweight belt, and it won't get any better than this! Lyles by submission.

I simply cannot wait for Saturday to come! With 5 huge preliminary fights capped off with the trilogy ending masterpiece that will be the Lyles/Yeah fight, the evening should be no less than fireworks! Lets do this Hilo!
