Not tasting defeat in 10 fights, the majority of opponents set to face Skarsgard end up knocked out, just as capable of kicking your head off as he is at punching from all angles; Skarsgard is a dangerous foe for most. Facing him will be Leonardo Ferreira a fighter who has constantly fought elite heavyweight fighters, something that the Skarsgard detractors say he has not fought the best fighters possible. Now he finds himself in EVO the home of some of the best fighters in MMA today, Skarsgard has a point to prove that he can knock out anyone at any time. I caught up with him earlier today for a quick chat about his feelings for signing with EVO and his upcoming fight, possibly a title eliminator.

Reporter - You are making your EVO debut after coming over as champion from CONFLICTION MMA. Do you feel there is any added pressure for you to perform to a high standard?

I feel no pressure. I am from a land where ice is in our blood.

Reporter - You aren’t being given any warm up fights for EVO, being thrown right into the fire again Leonardo Ferreira. Where do you feel you can win this fight?

Battle is a way of life where I am from, my ancestors did it with axes and I do so with my fists. I will march forward this fight and I will fight like a true warrior.

Reporter - You have had a few different managers in your career, but it seems Eddie has brought out the best fighter in you. How important for you as a fighter was it that you moved over to Eddie Roach’s management?

Roach is a man of few words but he has a very deep understanding of the fight game. The difference is the ability to pinpoint my opponents flaws and provide a way to exploit that weakness. This is the reason I am in EVO today.

Reporter - At the ripe old age of 35, you have held many titles for many different orgs. Now you find yourself at arguably the best org around, do you see that if you win this fight you will be next in line for a title shot against the formidable Rinky Spider?

I do not believe in age, I believe in power. The power is still there. I believe Ferreira is the #1 contender so I believe after I come away with a victorious I will earn my title shot and continue my reign.

Reporter - You have finished all but one of your victories via KO or TKO. Are you confident that you can KO any heavyweight out there?

I am a warrior, I march forward and look to end the fight, and I do not fear going out on my shield. This is the reason I can KO any man that steps into the cage with me, contender or champion.

Reporter - Thank you for your time, is there anything else you would like to add?
