AXF '8 Event Preview

Event Preview: AXF 8
Australian Xtreme Fighting
2015-05-16, Sydney, Sydney Superdome
Author:Louie DePalma

Ladies and Gentlemen, AXF in Sydney is very excited to present to you this weeks epic event coming to you live from the Sydney Superdome where we expect upwards of 18, 500 rabid Australian Xtreme Fight fans to make their way to take in what will be a great follow up to the ultra successful AXF 7 event!!  This event brings us not only a solid Main Event and Co Main Event but also the much hyped final to the Sydney Cup which will see the winner take home this companies Featherweight Title.   Just prior to that matchup we present our Main Event of AXF '8  and then followed up in our Co Main Event of the evening 2 epic HW battles!!

Main Event - 265 lbs Kickin Rad vs John Kyle Romo

Our Main Event showcases a battle between Kickin Rad making his return to the AXF cagefollowing a big win in AXF 6.    Facing off on the other side of the cage is Striker John Kyle Romo.   Like stated previously Rad made his Sydney debut on AXF '6  and has a career full of KO finishes, but dont sit back waiting for that big blow or you could miss a slick submission which Rad has pulled off on 4 other occasions.  Meanwhile his opponent Romo possesses a simliar trait when it comes to KO finishes while also leaning on the judges 8 times during his career.  What could potentially be the key factor in this matchup is the fashion in which Romo tends to hang the L on his record as he has been KO'd 73% of the time in which he comes up short.  Rad has a slightly stronger chin only feeling the effects of a KO loss 35% of the time and if I were to put my money on things, I would certainly say that someone is going to sleep tonight, you can bank on it!

Co-Main Event - 265 lbs Niko Alzate vs Neo Kable

In our Co Main Event of the evening we see a fight between warriors managed by 2 managers who simply do not like each other!!  This all dates back to a breezy night in October of 2012 when world famous tourney manager Ethan Downs instructed his fighter to rely on unethical tactics on his way to winning the LoL tourney final.   But lets not focus on that one and instead on the fight at hand as we see another 2 big men throw down!  In a fight that was just signed late this afternoon we will be witness to one one of the greatest HW's to do battle in Neo Kable as he takes on virtual unknown Niko Alzate.  Kable began his career with an amazing 23 fight win streak before being stopped cold in his tracks and ever since that L he simply has not been the same.  Facing off on the other side of the cage is Niko Alzate who just last week during AXF's grandest of shows AXF 7 took the W and ran with it and this week he has hopes of the very same result.  Kable only knows one way to fight, and that is to throw down as he has not only won 100% of his fights by way of TKO but has also lost them all in the same fashion.  He boasts a heart of a lion and in this one I think poor Alzate is, how you say....fooked!!!  Niko is still very green compared to Kable when it comes to big fights and big finishes but he too does not lack heart and will come out battling Neo until one of these big men come crashing to the mat

145 lbs Ravi Vamoosh vs Tomothy Poggle  - Sydney Cup Final

Next up we see a battle that will see AXF crown their first Champion as Ravi Vamoosh takes on Tomothy Poggle.  We are being told there is big money at stake in this one along with bragging rights and alittle gold to go around the winners waist.  Vamoosh has enjoyed an unblemished trip to this final showdown while Poggle was forced to circle back one more time following a Majority Draw in his semi-final fight with Gene Parmesan.  Both these combatants enjoy the fireworks of the KO finish as Vamoosh has never seen any fight finish in any other fashion while Poggle has won 5 by way of the KO finish and going to one judges score cards.  Vamoosh is a wrestler who follows up his successful takedowns with a deadly accurate ground and pound assault.  He will be facing a stand up monster who compliments his striking with his clinch mastery.  Up until this point he has not faced an opponent who wanted to take the fight to the ground, will he be able to continue that streak or will Vamoosh expose his wrestling disadvantage.  Stay tuned and find out is all I can say, I am waiting for this one with bated breath for sure!

170 lbs Unai Arana vs Adam Yauch

In our next matchup we have a fight that sees 2 veterans do battle as UNai Arana steps into the cage for the 32nd time in his career and goes up against Adam Yauch fighting for the 39th time.   Once again both of these fighters like to finish their fights as they have a combined 37 wins via TKO finishes however unlike previously they have a much smaller combined 5 KO losses.  Arana comes in to this fight on a 2 fight win streaks while his dance partner Yauch has had less luck losing his previous 2 trips into the cage.  Both of these fighters would like to take a step up the rankings both within AXF and also in the Tycoon universe and will come out all guns a blazing in this one for sure!

205 lbs Sven Larsson vs John L Sullivan

Our final matchup from the main card sees another battle of grizzled veterans.   Sven Larsson comes into this one after winning 4 of his last 5 fights including a 1-1 record in AXF meanwhile his opponent staring him down from the other side of the cage is Sydney legend John L Sullivan who is riding a 2 fight win streak since returning home to AXF which seems to have rejuvinated his career that looked to be on the rocks.  Even though Larsson has enjoyed 12 victories via TKO his preference appears to be to play it safe and take it to the judges scorecard where he has won 57% of the time.  On the other side Sullivan has blasted his way to victory 27 times with TKO stoppages.  A victory in this one will certainly put the winner close to the top of the division rankings I am not sure Sullivans current role can be stopped, but if it is Larsson will enjoy one of his most rewarding victories he has experienced thus far in his long career.  Whomever can get their chin to hold up the longest will likely come out on top, whose your money on in this one?

Well folks thats all the time we have but here is a quick listing of our other fights on this action packed event...
