Hi MMA world here is Victorio and this is the preview of HMFL‘s upcoming barnburner - "3th Revolution" ! The event is taking place in Hard Knocks - Montreal on 21st May. We will have 10 non-title fights lining up and waiting to deliver! I believe without title fights this card will still impress because of the interesting matchups. So what are you waiting for? Let‘s take a look at the preview first!

LW bout: Carlos Meira vs Jon Melcher

First fight of the night we have two talented young fighters who need a win in HMFL so bad. Meira is a grappler with some credit who is the WW runner-up of TWGC Div.3 but seems like he couldn‘t translate his grappling to HMFL stage as he got KO‘d in his HMFL debut. Meira has decent striking but the defense and chin couldn‘t hold up for him. His counterpart Melcher is also a good grappler but not as good as Meira. And Melcher‘s momentum won‘t be high as he is losing six in row in HMFL. I expect a ground war between these two talents since they‘re strong in this area and Meira will comfortably outwork his foe with better wrestling and BJJ. And what about Meira‘s TWGC experience and Melcher‘s frustrating streak. Meira will eventually get a submission in the second round.

Prediction: Meira by 2nd round submission

HW bout: Master Wong vs Piotr Smietana

So we have even younger talents clashing as 20 year old Wong is fighting 19 year old Smietana. Wong is already a world class wrestler in his age and his best weapon is his GnP. All of Wong‘s four fight were inside the HMFL stage so Wong will be familiar in the cage and it‘s gonna be an advantage for him as Smietana is a debutant in MMA. Wong has the wrestling and experience advantage and Smietana had the striking advantage. Anyway I will favor Wong because his world class wrestling can be a key to win this one if he didn‘t get KO‘d on the feet. Smietana has decent wrestling and BJJ purple belt so I assume his GnP defense won‘t be weak so I reckon a dominant victory for the GnPer.

Prediction: Wong by UD

BW bout: Jake Nelson vs Yves Jabouin

In the third match we have two world clasd skilled veteran looking for a kill! Nelson is a 38 year old veteran. He has 48 fights in his book and won 36 of them. That‘s one impressive record for a veteran like him. Nelson is seasoned GnPer with world class wrestling and BJJ brown belt. He will use the experience and dangerous ground work against the tough striker in Jabouin. Jabouin is a well-rounded striker with good knockout power with his punches and head kicks, also a smothering dirty boxing game. His diverse striking can pose threats to Nelson. Anyway, Nelson has same striking level with Jabouin and has a great chin so Jabouin will need to stay compose to get through some strikes against Nelson standing and in the clinch. On the mat Nelson has all the advantage he gets so I predict a decision victory for Nelson. Nelson will handle Jabouin‘s strikes well and score constant takedowns to secure this battle.

Prediction: Nelson by UD

HW bout: Bartholomew Roberts vs Arnie McDougle

The former HMFL title challenger Roberts is fighting kill-or-be-killed striker McDougle! This HW scrap is gonna be a great one because two big, heavy hitters are slugging for the just bleed fans. Roberts had a good run in his early HMFL career, being 7-1 before losing his title fight against Chubby Johnson but started fading after that. Riding a three fight losing streak, he would love to score a knockout against McDougle to save his career. McDougle is a kill-or-be-killed fighter as I mentioned above because he scored 19 KOs in his 25 wins and received 18 KOs in his...18 defeats so what can I say? He is gonna make fun for ya! McDougle is a flashy HW who has several headkick KOs and one spinning back fist KO so Roberts should be careful against the crafty McDougle. Roberts received only 4 KO losses so I assume he has a better chin. Both men have the power to knockout eachother and McDougle has more tools but his chin costed him too much so I believe Roberts can score a KO in first round.

Prediction: Roberts by 1st round KO

MW bout: Jukebox Timebmb vs Amin Sax

This is the battle of journeymen ladies and gentlemen! The red corner Timebmb perhaps has the most difficult name to pronounce in MMA world. Timebmb is an amazing ground fighter with top notch wrestling and BJJ black belt. I can see after he is under Mario Yaj‘s management, he looks more well-rounded and would like to stand and bang with his high level striking too so this would make the fight more possibilities. His counterpart Sax is a downright grappler with 67 fights experience and has 22 wins by submission of his 27 victories. His record isn‘t pretty but at least he is a great finisher, a true veteran and a respectable 44 year old warrior. The age doesn‘t matter for the lion hearted Sax. Even though Sax has a lot of submission wins and much more experience, Timebmb is a better fighter overall so I don‘t see Sax outgrappling and outwrestling Timebmb. Timebmb will mix things up against Sax, using his striking to score points and taking Sax down and outwork him with his bread and butter. I believe Timebmb will eventually get the nod from the judges.

Prediction: Timebmb by UD

HW bout: Quintus Daedalus vs Donny Davis

This is a fun matchup between the well-rounded Daedalus and the striker Davis. Daedalus is a 37 year old veteran with 10 wins by KOs, 13 wins by submissions so I think Daedalus is really a well-rounded finisher as a HW. He has power in his hands and one technical ground game. His foe Davis is the former HMFL title challenger with world class striking but a fragile chin. I believe Daedalus has the power to knock Davis out but I hope he can just focus on his ground game because he is better in that aspect against Davis. Standing and banging with Davis isn‘t the best idea if you have better ground game even though Davis is vulnerable. This fight will be a close one and I can see both men hurting eachother while standing but Daedalus will take Davis down and tap him out with his black belt intensity in the 2nd round.

Prediction: Daedalus by 2nd round submission

LHW bout: Kalle Natsisiwa vs Tarmo Goyf

Woohoo I can‘t wait for this one because two talented strikers are gonna bring the fire! Natsisiwa is a top notch boxer who is 37 years old but never lost his power. He scored 17 KOs in 21 wins thats what Natsisiwa is all about. His opponent Goyf is just 25 years old but he already showed that he has one nasty headkick. 4 of his 8 wins are by headkick KO that‘s why Goyf is that dangerous! This is a puncher vs kicker matchup and also a toss-up. I believe Natsisiwa will use his top notch boxing and experience trying to win this one but he got KO‘d by headkick in his last two back-to-back losses so I will favor Goyf the young Crocop to win this one by one kick knockout!

LW bout: Miguel Lopez vs Auguste Grimm

Two sensational LWs are battling eachother! Lopez is the true top contender in the HMFL LW division, being 8-1 in the big stage and his only loss is the title challange against Billy Dessler. He is a world class striker with dangerous power with his punches and kicks. I believe with a win against Grimm will grant him a title shot. Grimm is a well-rounded fighter who has 4 submission wins as a striker but I believe he totally sticked to striking now. As Lopez, Grimm has real power with his hands and kicks so I reckon a good striking battle between these two. Lopez is a better striker overall and has never been KO‘d in 52 pro fights so this is gonna be a good edge for the former title challenger. Grimm will need to patiently outstrike Lopez to win this one but I don‘t see that will happen. Lopez‘s better striking and durability will grant him a decision victory after three fun rounds.

Prediction: Lopez by UD

Co-main event

LHW bout: Shawn Geissen vs Alvin Ray Dunkin

This is the co-main event MMA world! Former HMFL champ Geissen is looking to impress against the tough Dunkin. Geissen has 5 title fights in HMFL, won 3 of them. As the former champ, he has champion level of striking, scored 24 KOs of his 25 wins and many of them are headkick KOs. He is a beast of a striker despite having a suspect chin. The relatively green Dunkin will no doubt looking for an upset against the champ with his top notch boxing. He has one punch KO power but he is so green compare to Geissen and the title fight experience is gonna help Geissen too. Don‘t forget Geissen‘s nasty kicking game can end a fight in any second so I personally favor him to be the winner by one kick KO in the first round.

Prediction: Geissen by 1st round KO

MAIN EVENT

BW bout: Kirk Boon vs Django Brown

This is the main event fight fans! Even though I believe Geissen vs Dunkin should be the main event but I know this one will deliver! Two ground wizards will looking for a war on the mat. Boon is a high level wrestler with BJJ black belt who scored 18 submissions in his 21 wins. He has tons of tools to catch anyone on the ground with different positions. His foe Brown is also a BJJ black belt but with slighly better wrestling. He is also a guy who can tap victims out in any position so I reckon a back-and-forth grappling carnival for the main event! The wrestling advantage goes to Brown so I assume he will score more takedowns and being on top more than Boon can. After 3 rounds of scrambles I believe Brown can edge this one by a close UD with more takedowns landed and more top control with his wrestling edge.

Prediction: Brown by UD

Can‘t wait for this event! So MMA world don‘t miss this one or you would regret!

See you next time
