CFC Champions Spotlight

Editorial by

CFC in Montreal Champions Spotlight. Wed, May 16th, 2012

Rafal Ulatowski - 145lbs

Ulatowski came to the CFC in early March boasting an impressive list of quality victims while living up to his raw potential and capturing fans around the world. His dominating debut earned him a title shot against the formidable Johnny Quid who proved to be a brutal test and possibly the toughest fight of his career. After edging out Quid and capturing the featherweight championship in a battle of the ages, Ulatowski defended his title once again in razor close fashion against Dominick Jaskson. There is a long line of hungry and blood thirsty sharks waiting to get there shot at the belt.. They will have to have effective patience, technique and luck in order to get past the kickboxing tank Ulatowski.

Christian Slaughter - 155lbs

Lightweight superstar Christian Slaughter is the longest consecutive title holder in the CFC and has defended his crown a whopping seven times since first capturing the title in August. He has defeated the likes of Waldorf Astoria, Jafar Agrabah and other legendary titans who have fought in the CFC trenches. His most recent fight against Noel Contemprato ended in a Draw, and although he retained his title he planted some seeds of confidence in his potential future challengers. A rematch is on the horizon, although dethroning this mythical lightweight creature will not be an easy task even with the holes he seemed to have shown in his last affair.

Antonio Montana - 170lbs

In late January of 2011, the CFC signed a 2-0 prospect by the name of Antonio Montana. 22 fights later and you are left with one of the most loyal and integral fighters to ever grace the CFC battle grounds. After some heartbreaking decision losses at lightweight, Montana decided to make a career changing move up to the welterweight division. All the success the world could offer was awaiting him there, and after he avenged his only defeat at 170 to Lucas Lunar his confidence elevated to a new level. He is the only champion to hold a submission win inside the CFC and has finished 5 of his last 8 opponents.

Remy LeBeau - 185lbs

Middleweight title holder Remy LeBeau has only been with the CFC since late March yet his accomplishments are exquisite. Within only 3 bouts, he managed to capture the CFC championship and defend it in impressive fashion. His experience level is quite unmatched, and he has fought all over the world against some solid competition. He has nearly cleaned out his division and is signed for a rematch with Jon Mirasty, whom he last defeated by Unanimous Decision. LeBeau's skills are frightening and to lay claim to his belt is a very tall order for any fighter on the planet.

Ryan Larkin - 205lbs

The most newly crowned champion Ryan Larkin captured the light heavyweight crown recently in an epic outing against Donald Blake, defeating him by split decision. Since re-joining the CFC in January, his career has been highly successful. He has gone 6-1 overall in the organization and has seemed to have found a permanent home. He is expected to face Peter Worrell on June 3rd in a bout that will probably be the toughest of his career. There are many thirsty savages in line for the title and the future of the light heavyweight scene is a true enigma.

Kearney McGarrity - 265lbs

Crowned on the same night as Ryan Larkin, Kearney McGarrity's life work as a martial artist came to fruition. After a dazzling back and forth battle, McGarrity dispatched his foe in the 5th round via spectacular KO sending shockwaves throughout the division. He is set to make his first title defense against Mandla Bangizwe on June 3rd. McGarrity is the most inexperienced CFC champion with only 11 bouts. He is quite young and has a lengthy career ahead of him. His skill can very well overshadow his lack of inexperience, and he has some devastating finishing capabilities.
