Inside The UPF - Kashmire Gates

Fighter profile of Kashmire Gates by Dale Saw

Hello everybody Fred Meyer here to welcome you back to Inside The UPF. I'm glad to report that The UPF is back and open for business. Fighting business that is! Haha! Anyways, I'd like to take a second to give a shout out to The UPF's newest event partner Sportmanship Ltd.

They are a clothing company based out of Montreal with nothing over $30. So head on over and check out their designs today. And now time to get to the actual show, today we have on the show a young middleweight fighter with a lot of skill in jiu-jitsu. Lady's and gentlemen help me welcome to the stage Kashmire Gates.
(Gates enters the stage flexing his muscles and smiles. Waves to the crowd walks over shakes Fred's hand and takes his seat.)
Freddy: Well hello there Kash. Is it alright if I call you Kash?

Kash: Yes, Kash is fine.

Freddy: Awesome! So tell me Kash, how are you doing today?

Kash: I'm doing great and feeling good about my upcoming UPF match.

Freddy: That would be against Mustafiq Rana, correct me if I'm wrong?

Kash: Yes, Mustafiq Rana and make no mistake about it. We are both young fighters and I do not take him lightly. Mustafiq is a very quick and dangerous fighter who has been training a long time. This will be a fight to see. I know his style and I am training very intense for this match.

Freddy: You mentioned that you were both young fighters. True but he is 8 years your elder meaning he has probably had a lot more time to train than you. Is that something that concerns you? Do you feel, even though you the younger fighter, that you pose as much of a threat to him as he is to you? Tell us how you see that fight panning out.

Kash: Yes he has years of training. I am not fooled by his 1-0 record. He is a very skilled fighter. I think this goes to his disadvantage. His age and skill will make him overconfident. When it's time to get it on. It will be on! (Flexes his shoulders and neck as he says that.)

I have my life and career in front of me. Rana is just a step on the ladder. Although, a big step for a young fighter as myself. It is one I will make. I am looking to take Rana out quick. I know his years of training will play a role in this match up and the longer this match goes on the more of an advantage Rana will have over me. This match will surely highlight the undercard.

Freddy: Well sounds like you have a game plan. I for one can not wait for the fight. So tell me Kash, what got you into fighting in the first place? Why MMA?

Kash: I grew up watching Royce Gracie. I fell in love with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I spent my young life studying Royce. He is a very influential figure in the history of MMA. I was drawn to the ring to become a champion, From an armbar to a chicken wing.(Laughs) I am here to practice in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Freddy: Gracie was one of the best Jiu-Jitsu fighters I've ever seen. Not a bad person to idolize. Haha! So how about a little about the man behind the fighter. What do you do when not fighting or training?

Kash: Well Freddy... I sleep. My life is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The sponsors and fight winnings pay the way. All I have is training and looking forward to the upcoming matches as I take them one at a time. I am a true practicing artist of the MMA sport.

Freddy: We are running low on time. Tell me Kash, who do you see winning the main fight on the card, You Vs. Wells. Any thoughts on how that fight might go?

Kash: Wells taps out in 30 seconds or less. That is how the fight will go. Thanks for having me on the show and I will not let my fans down. It will be a match to watch.

Freddy: The last 30 seconds are all yours, anything goes!

Kash: Anything does go. Everthing can happen in 30 seconds. From the moment I step into the ring all I see is my opponent. No name, No age, and no amount of training. I look for an opening.(narrows his eyes) A weakness or a mistake and I CAPITALIZE!(He almost shouts)

It is all we can do as a fighter to stay on top. Good luck to both of us. There will be only one winner after this match. I wish him the best, but his best is just not good enough. Come fight night anything goes. I am here to excite. I am here to win.

Freddy: There you have it folks! Don't miss out Kashmire Gates - Mustafiq Rana Paddy O'Malley's Bar, Hilo Hawaii - May 30th 2015 be there because you can't get this one on Pay Per View.

Haha! Once again Kashmire Gates ladies and gentlemen. All right next week on the show we will be sitting down with another young talent in Clint "HeadBu$$a" Hester.

So don't forget to tune in and set your DVR. Until next time, this is Fred Meyer signing off.
