Its well known that the Butt-Stomper events are the place to be on Saturday evening, and the Stomp a thon 9 event was no different! This Saturday night (30 May 2015) at The Underground in Las Vegas, we had 8 fights, and can you believe...there was NO FINAL BELL heard this night! 7 of the 8 bouts ended by knockout and 1 by submission!!! It was an excitingly "upbeat" night full of "beatdowns" and we saw 2 Romper Room Butt-Stomper Champions belted. This event was proudly sponsored by Vikai Gear (4457) based in Hilo.
170 lbs fight between Rancid Crabtree (269345) and El Jefe (271951)
Jefe is a wrestler and Crabtree is a boxer/street style fighter. Ding Ding ! Jefe straight to a clinch attempt and that seemed to be his gameplan, but when he got the clinch he immediately broke clinch and then grabbed a clinch again...maybe he got his clinch sparring night mixed up with fight night on the calender? Anyway he eventually threw a few punches from the clinch and managed to get a takedown mid-way into round 1 and then he surprised everyone by trying for a submission! Taking advantage of Jefe's apparent confusion, Crabtree got a reversal and was working some GnP while Jefe tried another submission. But the referee got bored and stood them up and Crabtree began to step up the pace and was landing strikes as Jefe came in for the clinch attempts. Jefe was rocked by a straight right hand, and a left, a right and Jefe goes down. Crabtree is happy to climb on top and throw a barrage of punches until the referee stops the fight.
Results: After 4:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rancid Crabtree!
205 lbs fight between Uthred Ragnarson (269411) and Edward "REAL DEAL " McManis (269900)
Ragnarson is a boxer and McManis is a boxer/wrestler. Ding Ding ! McManis straight for the takedown, stuffed. McManis with the clinch and strangely breaks it off...it seems like McManis is confused because he then clinches and gets a takedown and suddenly stands up...and immediately looking for the takedown again... Ragnarson on the other hand is defending and countering and landing strikes and even throws a knee. Late in the round Ragnarson gets more offensive and lands a series of well-placed strikes and McManis collapses from the barrage allowing Ragnarson to mount and batter McManis until the referee steps in.
Results: After 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Uthred Ragnarson!
205 lbs fight between Guli "Pittie" Glozman (265042) and Jake "Slippery" Swilly (264511)
Swilly is street style fighter and Glozman is a Muay Thai fighter with training in all spectrums of the fight. Swilly straight to a takedown attempt, stuffed by Glozman who clinches up and starts his Muay Thai attack. Swilly is cut by a knee, but he is still interested to take the fight to the ground as Glozman is kinda working him over in the clinch. Swilly finally gets the fight to the ground by pulling guard and is trying a switch reversal which Glozman uses to his advantage and gets full mount. Swilly WANTS control but Glozman HAS control and they struggle until the end of the round. Round 2, Glozman comes out aggressive and clinches and gets busy with the knees. Swilly wisely wants OUT and breaks free, but Glozman is on him like stink on shit and knocks him down with a kick to the head. Swilly gets to his feet a bit wobbly but fighting back and Glozman the shark is looking for the kill. He sets Swilly up with a couple kicks and then knocks him down again with a nicely done combination. Being the ultimate gentleman, Glozman allows Swilly to stand up and continues his course of instruction on how to eat strikes. Glozman being the perfectionist in instruction technique, assumes the clinch position in order to cover the finer points of knee cusine. But Swilly being the somewhat uncouth and slightly rude kinda fellow, falls asleep during the presentation.
Results: After 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Knee). Guli Glozman!
170 lbs fight between Devon "The Crippler" Gilliam (268622) and Reese "The True One" Angelos (268809)
Gilliam is a wrestler and Angelos is a boxer. Ding Ding ! No surprises as Angelos comes out aggressive and striking and Gilliam is looking for the takedown...and gets it. Angelos is defending against the GnP but Gilliam is getting some shots in. Eventually the referee stands them up which after eating a few elbows probably makes Angelos happy. But as soon as Angelos throws a leg kick, he is taken down again and Gilliam is dropping elbows and Angelos is rocked, but Gilliam cant finish him before the round ends. Round 2, Gilliam comes out swinging and missing, but when he finally connects, it drops Angelos and the referee stops the fight. Nice work Gilliam!
Results: After 0:09 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Devon Gilliam!
170 lbs TITLE fight between Mordecai Sackett (265009) and Optimus "The Auto Bot" Prime (260667)
Both Sackett and Prime are well trained street style fighters with their strongest skills being in wrestling. Ding Ding ! Sackett lands first but Prime is busy punching, kicking and looking to clinch and then gets a takedown and working a submission! Almost like Prime is in "fast-time" and Sackett is in "slow-mo". But Sackett stands up and starts fighting and next thing we know Prime is on his ass from a head kick. Sackett waves him up and lands a couple more kicks and then catches Prime with a hook and Prime is prime roast. Nicely done and heres your belt Champ !
Results: A lot of action for less than a minute... after 0:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mordecai Sackett! Sackett is our first Butt-Stompers Middleweight Champion ! Sackett is awarded "KO of the Night"
205 lbs fight between Mario Cart (263893) and Sky "Jabbar" Hook (264659)
Cart and Hook are both boxers. Ding Ding ! Both men come out swinging and Cart lands first. They are going at it and Cart grabs a clinch where he seems the better fighter and is landing nicely when surprise SURPRISE he pulls guard and is working like madman to get a submission! Kimura, triangle, guillotine, triangle, triangle, guillotine...I thought you said this guy was a BOXER ! Triangle, guillotine, TAP TAP its OVER...talk about a sneak attack!
Results: after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Mario Cart! Cart has the first Submission of the Night award ever given in the Butt-Stompers Organization !
205 lbs TITLE fight between Miguel Castillion (260061) and AJ "The Machine" McKenzie (261118)
Castillion is a Muay Thai fighter and is well trained in the other fighting styles as well. McKenzie is a boxer/wrestler. Ding Ding ! Both men come out fighting, but its Castillion who lands first, and on his 2nd landed strike McKenzie is cut. McKenzie is landing shots from time to time, but Castillion is landing around double the strikes and is mixing in kicks quite nicely. But its a good fight...for a couple minutes and then Castillion drops McKenzie with a counter head-kick. McKenzie is rocked and Castillion jumps on him and instead of trying to finish with strikes he is going for submissions! But McKenzie shows great heart and defends well until the round ends. Round 2, Both men come out swinging and missing, and its Castillion who starts landing first and continues to land and is targetting McKenzie's cut. McKenzie's cut is bleeding badly and Castillion lands a head kick that stumbles McKenzie and the fighters go to the mat. Both men struggle for positioning until the end of the round. Round 3, Castillion lands first and then is kicking and knocks McKenzie out with a head-kick, and McKenzie faceplants!
Results: After 0:30 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Miguel Castillion! Miguel Castillion is the new Butt-Stompers Light-Heavyweight champion!
265 lbs fight between Dick "The Sex Offender" Schneeger (266803) and Remy Bon
Schneeger is a Muay Thai fighter with skills in all areas of the fight game. Bon is also a Muay Thai fighter and wrestler with skills in all areas of the fight game as well. Ding Ding ! Schneeger comes out throwing strikes and missing and Bon is trying to counter to a takedown. He gets his takedown and lands some of his GnP, but Schneeger is controlling him pretty good. Eventually the referee stands them up and Bon is defending and countering Schneeger's attacks and then slams him to the mat in a great takedown. Bon isnt doing much except preventing Schneeger from doing anything so the referee stands them up. Tired or overconfident I don't know, but Bon is keeping his hands low and Schneeger raises his leg and lands a stunning axe kick! Bon is out cold, face down on the mat! Oh THAT was sweetly done!
Results: After 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Dick Schneeger!
