After jumping from Las Vegas to Rio and then Helsinki I now find myself on my last leg of my journey traveling back to my home country of Canada to sit down and interview the manager, the man behind the Palace of Pain Fight Camp and its fighters. After interviewing three of his fights I feel I know the Prof. better, but in saying that these candid interviews left me with many questions about the man they call the Prof.

IYF – Prof. Carter I must say it is a true pleasure to finial meet you. I have heard a lot about you from talking to your fighters but IYF fans want more.

Prof. – It is also a pleasure Rick. I have been a fan of IYF for some time and I always have time for Canadian media.

IYF – I see your fight camp has a record of 12-5-1 that is impressive for a new manager in the MMA world.

Prof. – Our historical record Rick is 18-15-1. You see even if they look and smell like a champ. They may never be a champ. I demand a lot from my fighters and some will make the cut and some won’t. But this is what it means to be a good manager. Letting some go and building up the rest.

IYF – You have received several manager awards from MMATycoon since you emerged onto the managers stage. That in your past has aided in this transition to becoming a manager?

Prof. – Rick I have dedicated over 25 years to the Japanese martial arts. I have competed, trained and taught fighters from Europe, Canada and the USA. So it was a very easy to move into a managers role and mentor these young and upcoming fighters.

IYF – So anything or anyone new coming up in the Palace that the fight world should be keeping an eye for?

Prof. – Yes. We have several new fighters in house. I have just brought in two new Canadian men one from Ontario and another from Saskatchewan both showing great promise. I would tell you more but I like to keep these things close to my chest so to speak.

IYF – So before we go Prof. I must ask. Where did your "If you can't beat them in the cage. Beat them in the parking lot" quote come from?

Prof. – Well Rick you see in my younger days of competition I was a little not headed. There was one such case when I didn’t take losing very well. You and your readers can pretty much figure out the rest.

IYF – I would like to thank you, your fighters and your entire team for making the time for us to take a deeper look into the Palace of Pain its fighters and yourself.
