 Stomp-a-thon 11 13 May 2015 Review by Rabid Alien (102643)
The Romper Room Butt-Stompers has once again shown why its events are becoming the Saturday night "place to be" here in Las Vegas with an incredible show at the The Underground this May 13th. This exciting event had 10 fights resulting in 8 knockouts, 1 decision and 1 submission for the viewing pleasure of the MMA fans who swarmed to see it. This review will hopefully visualize for the fans who sadly missed it....just what a great evening they missed out on. 265 lbs fight between Barbie "TomBoy" Bloonkers (267091) Billy West
Bloonkers is an exceptional wrestler and West is also and exdceptional wrestler and has a purple belt in BJJ so I hope Bloonkers has a plan for something other than ground war. Ding Ding ! Bloonkers comes out kicking and and opens a cut under West's eye with a jab. West it trying to work the body and counter-punching but can't seem to find the range. Bloonkers continues his kick attack and lands a head kick that stumbles West and the fighters go to the mat where they roll around like two sisters pulling hair for a while, and West lands a few shots, but the referee finally stands tham up with 1 minute left in the round. Round 2, West comes out looking for a takedown and Bloonkers is still kicking and lands a huge shot that hurts West badly and the referee jumps in to save him. An interesting fight with Bloonkers the wrestler using a kick attack for a fight plan. VERY interesting...
Results: After 3:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barbie Bloonkers!
265 lbs fight between Mitzi "Satan" Glozman (265912) and Bonesaw McGraw
Glozman is an exceptional Muay Thai fighter with a weakness in BJJ and McGraw is a wonderful Muay Thai fighter with good BJJ skills. Ding Ding ! Glozman comes out punching and McGraw is kicking and both fighters are missing. Glozman clinches and cuts McGraw with a knee and is connecting strike after strike so McGraw is trying for a takedown to smother the barrage. But McGraw is unable to get the fight to the ground to use his superiour BJJ skills and Bloonkers is working him over in the clinch. Bloonkers lands an uppercut and rocks McGraw whose cut is getting bad. Shortly after that, McGraw eats another knee and the cut is getting nasty, and Bloonkers lands another uppercut that "re-rocks" McGraw and then follows it by a barrage of strikes prompting the referee to stop the fight.
Results: After 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mitzi Glozman!
205 lbs fight between Erik Meen (264969) and Jake Blade (262763)
Meen is a highly trained fighter with exceptional Muay Thai skills and Blade is a boxer with reasonable skills in all areas of fighting. Ding Ding ! Can you say WAR ? Well thats what this was...These two threw strikes like it was a 3 for 1 sale. Meen was wanting to battle in the clinch and he tried to clinch 23 times and failed 20 times so he didn't do so well with that, but once in the clinch he was an absolute ANIMAL and landed 69 strikes. Blade did quite well in the clinch himself and landed 29 strikes. Blade did better in the standing war and outstruck Meen 14 to 6...but in the end it was the outstanding performance in the clinch by Meen that carried the day. This was one hellofa fight !
Results: All 3 judges see the fight the same at 27:20 in favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Erik Meen! This fight was awarded the "Fight of the Night".
265 lbs fight between Pounamu "Makarata" Akona (266123) and Chris Treborn (266469)
Akona is a BJJ fighter and Treborn is a standup fighter with exceptional skills in Muay Thai. Ding Ding ! Treborn comes out with a kick and Akone gets a counter takedown. Akone wastes no time working on a submission. Kimura, Kimura, Kimura, Arm-Triangle, Kimura, Americana, Americana, Tap tap TAP! Its over ! Nicely done Akona !
Results: After 3:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Pounamu Akona!
185 lbs fight between Jack "Shadow " Ryan (269308) and Weleslaw "Weles" Weles (268225)
Ryan is a boxer with BJJ skills and Weles is street style fighter. Ding Ding ! Weles straight for the takedown, and then its everything he can do to keep Ryan from standing up....but the referee was apparently paid well by the Ryan camp and stands them up. Ryan starts swinging and catches Weles with an right hand and knocks him down and when Weles springs to his feet he catches him with another right hand and he's down and OUT !
Results: After 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jack Ryan!
170 lbs fight between Adam Kirkland (265634) and Fed "Bam Bam" Ali (265982)
Kirkland is a ground fighter and Ali is a a street style fighter with his strengths in ground fighting. Ding Ding ! Kirkland uses a jab to setup the takedown and the fight is on the ground quickly. Ali is wanting to stand but Kirkland is conrolling position and catches him in a guillotine and cut Ali with some short shots trying to soften him up. They go to the end of the round with Kirkland working for a submission and throwing GnP. Round 2, they come out swinging and Kirkland gets a takedown and quickly starts working for a submission and throwing GnP mixed in. Ali is defending nicely but its not until the end of the round that he gets a reversal...but to late to do anything with it. Round 3, Again its Kirkland with a strike followed by a takedown and when he gets full mount he is throwing GnP and bouncing Ali's head like a basketball. Apparently frustrated at his inability to take Ali out he is striking like a madman and lands an albow that was kinda sorta a little bit maybe illegal but the referee just warns him as he is flailing away and then BOOM ! Kirkland lands a brutal head shot and Ali is finally rocked. Ali is trying to hold on but Kirkland aint about to let him off now and keeping pounding him until the referee stops the fight.
Results: After 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Kirkland!
185 lbs fight between Sergio "Biloca" Moreira (268262) and Albert "Einstein " Tumenov (268936)
Moreira is a wrestler and Tumenov is boxer. Ding Ding ! Tumenov wanted to clinch and Moreira agreed and thats where the action stayed. They mixed it up like to cats fighting over a mouse but it was Moreira landing and Tumenov eating what Moreira was dishing out to him. It got ugly fast and Tumenov was cut in the 1st minute and rocked and then knocked down in the 3rd minute. But the beatdown continued, and in the final minute Moreira drops him again with an uppercut and just pours it on until the referee stops the beating.
Results: After 4:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sergio Moreira! Moreira is screaming about a TITLE shot...and after handing out such a nasty ass whuppin like that... I think somebody better give it to him....Moreira was awarded the "KO of the Night"
170 lbs fight between Second Fist (265498) and Xander "XXX" Cage (264806)
Fist is a boxer and Cage is a standup fighter with strength in Muay Thai. Ding Ding ! Fist comes out swinging and missing and Cage is moving nicely and kinda making Fist look a bit clumsy. Cage starts throwing and he is landing and after several strikes ALL landing Cage rocks Fist with a one-two combo. A minute into the fight and Fist has yet to land a strike and Cage clinches. Two minutes into the fight and Fist has broken the clinch but is still trying to find the distance and as the fight goes on he is starting to land more often. Cage is starting to counter and is taking a few shots and still looking for the clinch. Round 2, Fist comes out swinging and knocks Cage down with a combination. Fist waves Cage to his feet and he is cut and wobbly. They are both swinging and missing and then Cage clobbers Fist with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. Fist lands an uppercut, right on the button! Cage tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! Its OVER !
Results: after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Second Fist!
170 lbs fight between Bruce "Batman" Wayne (261562) and Cormac Mac Airt (262184)
Wayne is a boxer with strengths in BJJ, and Mac Airt is also a boxer. Ding Ding ! Mac Airt comes out swinging and Wayne cuts him with a jab. Mac Airt is landing a few shots but Wayne seems to be having trouble finding the distance. Wayne is countering Mac Airt's strikes and then clinches. Wayne starts landing in the clinch and Mac Airt smartly wants out, but Wayne has him against the cage and is working him over. Wayne is ripping in body shots and then he picks Mac Airt up and slams him down for the takedown! Wayne is throwing GnP and some of it is landing as Mac Airt wants to get back to his feet. Round 2, Mac Airt swinging and Wayne looking for the clinch. It takes him a minute to get the clinch and Mac Airt less than that to break it. Wayne must be getting tired as it takes him more than a minute now to get the clinch, but get it he does. Wayne starts landing in the clinch and Mac Airt is rocked by an uppercut and shortly after that, another uppercut! Mac Airt falls back against the cage and Wayne unloads with a barrage of strikes! Mac Airt is completely out with his eyes open.
Results: After 3:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Wayne!
265 lbs fight between Fifth Fist (266480) and Rolf "The Viking" Borjesson (267291)
Fist is a boxer, and Borjesson is a Muay Thau fighter with wrestling ability. Ding Ding ! Borjesson comes out swinging and when he lands a leg kick, Fist lands a left and a right that send Borjesson crashing to the mat, dazed. Fist waves him to his feet and when he stands up, Fist throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Borjesson out cold! The fight is over!
Results: After 0:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Fifth Fist!
