The Belgian Beast

Fighter profile of Divock Origi by Bjorn O'Donnel

Divock "Belgian Beast" Origi

After a long travel by private jet to Sydney, I was picked up by Louie DePalma at the airport and he was accompanied by two Skippy-like creatures. They are his pets he said, but I have no idea why you would want such jumping, smelly beasts as pets. They both have strange names. The first one is called Dinooo, after some scottish guy he met some time ago in Edinburgh. He says that the guy was loud and noisy and when he bought his first kangaroo, that it reminded him of that guy. The second one was called Peel. I'm not sure why he was called like that. It was either because he talked a lot , like a guy he met somewhere in the past as well, or because the stupid beast kept falling over banana peels. The kangaroos were locked up in their cage in the back of his Jeep and of we went to the city center.

It was only after like 30 miles that I started realising that there were some strange noises coming from the outside of the Jeep. I asked Louie to pull over and you can never imagine what we saw next. Under the car, there was a guy with a mask , that had been trying to stay out of our sights ever since I landed in Sydney. As soon as we asked him to come from under the car and tell us who he was, he started running like a madman in the other direction . He highjacked a car and raced away and we weren't able to catch up with him, no matter how fast we were driving. Luckily , we had found a paper that fell out of his pockets and his name was mentioned on it; Beau Banks. He is supposed to be the org owner, but hadn't been seen for ages. We alerted the cops, but he is still missing.

After this crazy turn of events, we finaly arrived at the Sydney Superdome. I walked in and met my opponent for the first time. He seemed like a giant, but I wasn't going to let him see that I was impressed by his physique. We talked for a few minutes, wished eachother good luck and went to our locker rooms.

I worked out hard on the pads and actually destroyed two pads and the ankle of my trainer during the warm-up. I felt strong, ready and good to go.

When I entered the arena, with the song 'Vamos a la playa' on the background, the arena went crazy. Many of the people in attendance had come specially for me, and I wasn't going to let them down. Sobis (17-2-0 with 17 (t)KO wins), caught me in the first round with a two punch combo and knocked me down , but I jumped right back up and threw a leg kick that nearly chopped of his knee, to make him pay for trying to KO me.

The rest of the fight was a pure showcase of my determination, skill and potential. I dominated the entire fight and once the judges told the verdict, nobody in the arena was surprised. It was a great fight and props to my opponent, but I was once again the better fighter.

After the fight, I sat down with Louie , since Beau Banks was still hiding/running, and he told me that the org was in its final stages. I am an unsigned fighter now, but that doesn't matter. The media has been telling me for ages that I have a great future ahead of me and I'm finally starting to believe them. I'm going to work my butt of in training for some time, my ass is really kinda fat, and when I'm ready, I'll be more than ready!
