Banished Preview - The Leftovers #8

Event Preview: Banished
The Leftovers
2015-06-28, The Island, The Underground - The Island
Author:The Dictator

Hello world! Or not really...Remember your hometown? You had one, right? And now you're banished to this deserted island! Welcome to the The Underground of the Island. This time another title fight at 205lbs. Let's check the top 5 fights from this event...

#6 Niko Franjik Vic Smackey

Niko lost his debut at the Leftovers against the title challenger due to his inability to take the fight to the ground. He's got nothing to offer on his feet and his winning chances are all due to his BJJ purple belt. Vic is making his long awaited professional debut. Unfortunately to Niko, Vic will not take the fight to the ground and will try to make use of his strong Muay Thai game to win this fight.

#7 Charles Hemingway Simon Udovich

Hemingway also lost his debut here but he does have an all round game, so he can actually adapt his game for his next opponent. Let's see if he actually does that. Simon is incredibly depressed since after losing his last 2 fights he also got released by his manager and comes to this fight as a free agent. He also has an alround game but I would say that this is Charles fight to lose.

#8 Ganbaatar Khan Jimmie Johns

The Steel Hero, Khan, actually has the manager that previously sacked Udovich. He's a MT fighter with a 1-1 record at the leftovers. He does seem a bit tired coming into this training camp though. I wonder if this will affect this fight's outcome. Jimmie is an undefeated (2-0) submission artist. He pulled out a sub of the night performance against top prospect Hudson Oliveira and I see him as a huge favorite if this fight goes to the canvas at any point.

#9 CO MAIN - Lamar Diggs Luciano Andrade

Diggs already has 2 fight of the night performances with one win and one loss. He's a crowd pleaser. His 100% head punch accuracy let's you know what his game plan is going to be and he does not need to smack someone's head too much before it goes bye bye. Luckily for us, Luciano's game plan seems to be exactly the same as from his opponent! He debuts here with a 1-0 record and punches are the only thing on his mind. Someone will win by KO.

#10 MAIN EVENT - Cheng Ki Won Bernardo Muriel - LHW TITLE

Cheng is the #2 LHW fighter of the island and also ranks #7 overall. He has to be the favourite coming into this fight. He's still undefeated and he's last 4 wins all came by way of submission. He's not going to change his gameplan anytime soon. Muriel, Brazilian, got his shot at a title due to a dominating TKO victory over Bendstone. He's a volume striker that likes to box dirty in the clinch. However, his tendency to go wild while punching will leave open to counter takedowns so I'm calling this a succesfull title defence.
