The Rise of Havoc

Havoc Fighting League 260k, Fight Organization, Amsterdam
Company profile by

Spencer Kilco reporting for £4£: The best for MMA News, Views and Reviews

I recently meet with Liam Davidson, Owner of Havoc Fighting League. Based in Amsterdam they seem to have positioned themselves perfect for building a strong fan base and develop popular fighters. They only opened their doors at the beginning of this year yet they are already putting on some of the best events in Europe. I caught up with the man behind it all in Amsterdam at what has possibly the poshest sandwich shop to ever exist.

Why did you start Havoc?

I started with the obvious, wat drove Davidson to become a promoter in the fight game? “I decided to start Havoc when I noticed the gap in the market for a 260k id org. I knew if I started the org we could have success with the knowledge I had picked up from the likes of Troid. It was always a dream of mine to start an org and make a place where managers could take their fighters and enjoy all aspects and I would like to think that’s what we are doing.”

Havoc focuses on showing casing young talent, which makes sense with so many bigger fight companies in Europe which can afford the big name fighter. But to the surprise to most the average fight fan get just as excited rooting for the young guns as much as the famous fighters. This is the market Havoc has done so well, so far, to aim there product at/ And for fighter they have a great set up to nurse careers and gain spot light early on.

What confused me going into this meeting is that Davidson is an extreme patriotic Scot. So why travel into Europe and set up shop in Amsterdam instead of the UK and the European fight Mecca London. “Being Scottish I knew that we were overlooked in the game and didn’t have arenas in Scotland. I would love to be close to my home but being Scottish I couldn’t link with England. The next best place would be Amsterdam. It isn’t in the middle of nowhere and it is a great breeding ground for young fighters.” It really does seem that Havoc has been set up to further develop talent and grow the sport stronger instead of jut riding on the hype. I get the feeling Davidson has a real passion for the sport and making it stronger for the future.

Everyone would agree that the company has come far in its short life. “In seven months we have established ourselves in Amsterdam and globally for the place to be. In this seven months we have struck up great relationships with managers that have been the foundation of the org you see today.” But we all know this isn’t it, everyone in the fighting world wants to be the best. So what does Havoc have to do to be the best? “We are looking to be best 260k org through hard work. I think to be considered the best org in Amsterdam we have to build for the long term, build our roster and gain a reputation that fighters want to be involved in.”

But Davidson isn’t going to give u anytime soon. “I think to be best in Amsterdam it will take about 2 years to create an attractive org that people will want to join.” Long term plans as well as the foundations they have already built all point towards an exciting future for Havoc. “To be best 260+ org we will have to be active in recruitment and make sure we build up a roster that can hold it’s on against any other org.”

So what about the product so far?

“I have a few favourite events. My most favourite is Causing Havoc 1 which was where our legacy was created and we were put on the map as a 260 org. The success of the event was a real eye opener for us that we can actually make something of the org with our vision for the future. However, I do have a great admiration for Causing Havoc 8 as we crowned our first ever champion who was Aldo Pitbull.”

“I like all my fighters but I really like the veterans if I can call them that already. Like Darren Brown, Jambo Jambo. But my favourite would have to be Charlie Wax he was a big pick up for the org and he was the first fighter in our ranks to get into the top 1000 p4p which is a huge achievement for an org of our size. But I can’t forget Khal Drogo who is the beast who is ready to take over the world with his amazing ability to soak up information. Robert Baratheon is also a big fight with a great capture and is already making a name for himself with two championship wins in the org.”

If you’re a Havoc fan then don’t go anywhere, things are only going to go up from here! They have plans to expand their roster, hosts shows outside Amsterdam and expect 3000 fans to attend their next shows. A bigger and louder crowd is great for everyone involved! Make sure you’re in the crowd for the fast rising org in Europe!
