TTFC Invades Montreal 23

Editorial by Mike Thomas

Welcome back ladies and gentleman to another night of great TTFC fights I'm your host Magic Mike and along side of me is Doc Thomas. Welcome Doc how have you been? Doc: Thanks Mike, I have been doing great. I am getting very excited for this week ends fights. Mike: Speaking of this weekends fight TTFC has put together another spectacular show for us. It will start in the 185lb division and end with 170lb title fight between Salosen Mara and Igor Yakovchenko. Igor is the champ returning to 170lbs to defend his belt. So this should be a great event. Lets not get ahead of are selves though and lets get to the first fight on the card tonight. Doc: Sounds great Mike, what's up first? Mike: Ok first up is a fight in the 185lb class between Brick Tamland and Love Aikawa. Brick is from New York and fights out of the Christian Conrad Camp and his Opp Love is from St Petersburg and fights out of the Bobby Bowen Camp. Now Brick is a TTFC Veteran having fought 18 times in TTFC and he is having a sort of a resurgences in his career winning 5 of his last 6 fights. His Opp Love is stepping into the TTFC Cage for the first time but he is also won 5 out of his last 6 fights and all 5 wins have been by submission although it has been on a smaller circuit, Its going to be Interesting to see how he deals with the bright lights on a much bigger stage. What do you think Doc? Doc: Yeah I agree Love has been on a tear as of late and he looks like a fighter primed to work his way into title consideration but as you stated his last few fights have been on a smaller stage so it will be very Interesting to see how he does tonight. As for Brick he is basically been a gatekeeper for most of his career but he has changed it around as of late so it will be Interesting to see if he can get over the hump and get himself into Consideration for a title shot. For both of these fighters they are still a few wins away from even being in the conversation of a title shot. But a win here would put them in the right direction. Now onto the fight I believe this fight is going to be a classic fighter vs grappler type of fight as Brick is going to want to keep the fight standing and try to pick his Love apart and Love is going to want to get this fight to the ground were I think he has his best chance at winning. I think this fight will come down to if Love can get the fight to the ground or if he cant. I don't think he will be able to so I am going with Brick by decision. What do you think Mike? Mike: I agree with you on how both fighters will want to approach this fight but I don't agree with you on who's going to win. I think Love will be able to get this fight to the ground and he will get the Submission win. Mike: Up next we have a 135lb fight between Yngwie Malmsteen and Ron Paul. Yngwie is from New York and fights out of the Alexander Biro Camp. Yngie is a standup fighter with great power. His Opp Ron is also from New York and he fights out of the Jeg Grackson Camp. Ron is a grappler that is very good at submissions but also very good at controlling his Opps on the ground. Doc what can you tell me about this fight? Doc: Well I think this is another classic grappler vs striker match up. To be honest I think Yngwie is in over his head as he has had a lot of distractions coming out of his camp and even if that wasn't the case he would still have his hands full. Now lets not forget Yngwie has the power to end a fight in a flash but I just don't think he is focused and that is a bad thing when you get inside of a TTFC Cage. His Opp Ron on the other hand has been looking good in training and he is a grinder which will bold well for him and why I think he gets the win here. I just think he will be able to control the fight and take it to were ever he wants to. What do you think Mike? Mike: I agree with you I just don't see Yngwie being able to catch Ron and with all of the distractions he has going on right now I think this fight will end early with Ron getting the win. Mike: Up next we have a 155lb fight between Hannibal Barca and Tom Huddlestone. Hannibal is from New York fighting out of the John Mallon Camp he is coming off a loss in his TTFC Debut and he seems to be very focused and he will need to be as he will be up against Tom who is from New York and fights out of the Erwin Santana Camp. Tom is what I would describe as a crafty Veteran that believe he still has a little left in the tank. Doc Break it down for me. Doc: Ok Hannibal is a very young fighter with a lot of upside at 23 yrs old he is just beginning to scratch the surface of what he can become. He struggled in his Debut against Lars Thunstrom but lets be honest Lars is a top 10 TTFC 155lb fighter and couple that with the jitters of moving up to the big show it was just a little bit to much for Hannibal at this point in his career. He is ready to get that fight in his rear view mirror and get back to his winning ways. The problem is there are no easy fights in TTFC and his Opp Tom who is a well round veteran is not going to make it easy for him to get his first TTFC Victory. Now on to his Opp. Tom is a veteran but he has been a bit streaky in his TTFC Career he wins acouple of fight then he loses one which has been his Achilles heel for him as just when he is on the brink of getting a top contender he losses a fight. So this will be a very Interesting fight. I believe Tom has the skills to win this fight a number of ways but he is getting up there in age so I have to wonder if his body is breaking down. He is on a 2 fight win streak so everything is telling me to not pick him but I am going to go against that and I think he gets his 3rd straight win finally putting him over the hump. What do you think Mike? Mike: Again I am going to have to disagree. I think Hannibal is going to get the win in this one as I just think father time is at Toms door step and this is the fight we see him get old fast. Mike: Up Next we have a 205lb fight between Rocky Blyer and Tommy Price. Rocky is from New York and fights out of the Danil Ukolov Camp. He is your typical Gatekeeper in he is good enough to keep out the rift raft but not good enough to be considered a Contender. Rocky has amassed 78 pro fights in his career and just 2-3 in his last 5 fights. You have to wonder if his fighting career is coming to a end. His Opp Tommy is from Amsterdam and fights out of the Wilson Thieatcres Camp. Tommy is another Veteran fighter but he is 10yrs the junior of his Opp. He is looking to break into the discussion on being a contender in TTFC. What do you think Doc? Doc I think you are correct in your assessment of these two fighters. As for the fight its going to be very Interesting fight in Rocky has big power even though he is 42yrs old he can still turn your lights out if he connects clean. On the flip side Tommy doesn't have great KO power but he does have some pop. I think this fight is going to come down to if Tommy can take the power shots from Rocky and then be able to land some of his own if he can then I believe Tommy can get the win. So I am going to say Tommy wins this fight by TKO. Mike: Interesting Doc, I tend to agree with you as both fighters look to be willing to trade with each other and both fighters are pretty aggressive. I think Tommy gets the win also as I just think at 42yrs old Rocky's chin is pretty much used up. Mike: Up Next we have a 265+ fight between Daniel Silva and Jesse Venturia. Daniel is from Helsinki and fights out of the Jesse Bowes Camp. Just a year ago Daniel was ranked #9 in the world p4p but since then he has gone 4-9 in his last 13 fights and also changed managers. Times have change for Daniel once a title contender and now a gatekeeper. He really needs to get a win to keep his career alive. His Opp Jesse is from Las Vegas and fights out of the Danil Ukolov Camp. Jesse is a very Exciting fighter that doesn't like to go the distance in any of his fights. He is either going to KO you or go down trying. He has fought in numerous Orgs and has a 94.74% KO rate in his wins on the flip side he has a 83.78% of being Koed in his loses. I truly believe that both of these fighters are past there prime but they are still both of the most exciting fighters to watch. So Doc who do you think wins this fight? Doc: This is a very even fight both fighters can knock each other out if they land and both fighters don't seem to have the chins they once had. This fight is a fight for the fans as the outcome will likely not have a bearing on the 265+ landscape which is why I really like this match up. If you blink you could miss it. As for my pick I am going to go with Silva as I think he has a little better chin at this point. But make no mistake Jesse can win this fight with one well placed shot to Silva's dome. Mike: Doc I have to agree with you on all accounts. I think Silva gets the win by KO. Mike: Up next we have a 185lb fight between Chocolate Al and Alexander Valentine. Chocolate is from New York and fights out of the Bjorn O'Donnel Camp. Chocolate has moved back up to 185lb class after a failed title bid down at 170lb class in a fight I believe he was dominating until a 5th round hail merry TKO by the 170lb champ. His Opp Alexander is from New York and fights out of the Brian Robertson Camp. Alexander is a former TTFC 185lb Champ he is a veteran of 73 fights so he has been around the fight game along time. This fight should answer a few questions like how much did that last second loss to the 170lb champ take out of Chocolate and has father time finally caught up to Alexander along with all of the wars how much does he have left in the tank. Doc what do you think? Doc: Chocolate Al suffered what I call the toughest defeat anyone could ever suffer. Many people think he hasn't been the same fighter since that loss. I don't agree I saw some signs of his old self in his last fight a decision win against Reggie Anderson. When Chocolate Al is at his best and focused he is a handful for anyone in the division he is a very technical stand up fighter with some power but he prefers to overwhelm his Opps with volume punching rather than the one punch KO power. His Opp Alexander is a lot like Chocolate in he doesn't posses the one punch KO power but he does seem to have a little more Power than Al. Alexander has seen it all he has been to the top of the mountain but I think he is on his way down now. He is in the twilight of his career and I just don't think he has it in him to make another run at the title. That being said I think Chocolate Al gets the win here by sticking and moving to a decision victory. Who you got Mike? Mike: Well I agree with you in I don't think Alexander has another title run in him but with that being said I think he still has the power to get tom Al's chin should Al get careless. I think Al will get careless and at some point he gets caught and Alexander gets the TKO win. Mike: Up Next we have a 145lb fight between Napoleon Complex and Willie Bader. Napoleon is from Las Vegas and fights out of the Baby Face Nelson Camp. Napoleon is the former #3 ranked 135lb fighter in the world. He has fought some of the best fighters in the world. A Interesting fact about this fight was when he was signed to TTFC he openly campaigned for a fight against Willie Bader as they have fought before and in that fight Bader came out with the decision win. Willie is from New York and fights out of the Craig Bobby Camp. Willie is a tough fighter to read as he has mixed results in his TTFC career. Willie is a fighter that will fight anyone anytime. He just loves to compete and even though he holds a win over Napoleon that fight happened along time ago so it will be Interesting to see how both fighters have evolved since there first fight. Doc Can you break this fight down for me? Doc: Well Napoleon seems to be the more aggressive type of fighter and on paper he has seemed to develop more than Bader since there first fight. Both fighters like to stand and trade but Napoleon does like to take the fight to the ground every now and again. So it will be Interesting to see what kind of gameplan he comes up with. In the first fight Bader completely dominated the fight in the stand up and clinch aspects of the fight and he was able to keep the fight standing for the most part. Both fighters were aggressive but Bader was able to use a kick heavy offence to win the rounds and wear down Napoleon. I think this fight could go either way but with that being said I think Napoleon will make the adjustments from the first fight and he will get the win. What do you think Mike? Mike: Well even though the fight took place along time ago I don't think you can read much into the first fight as I believe both fighters are different fighters at this stage in there careers. That being said I would love to say Bader gets another victory I just can do it as I think he is on a down slope in his career. He has changed management since his victory over Napoleon and I think that might be what decides the fight. So I am going to pick Napoleon to win this fight also. Mike: Up next we have a 205lb fight between Rung Thrym and Apollo Jackson. Rung is from Los Angeles and fights out of the James Cozad Camp. Rung is a former 265lb title challenger in fact his last fight was for the TTFC 265lb belt its a fight that caused Rung to split from his former Manager and also to cut weight and go down to 205lb class and in my opinion was a good decision as I think he was a little to light for the 265lb class. His Opp Apollo is from Los Angeles and fights out of the Legendary Ethan Downs Camp. Apollo is former Valhalla 205lb champ. He has had some ups and downs to the start of his TTFC Career 3-4. He seems to have all the talent in the world but he hasn't been able to maximize it as of yet. Doc how do you see this fight playing out? Doc: On Paper Apollo should be able to win this fight as he seems to have the better skills but there are a few things that are concerning me with Apollo. One he doesn't seem to fight up to his potential and that is concerning since he is fighting a naturally bigger fighter in Rung. The question that I have is how will he react when he gets hit by the bigger man? The question I have for Rung is how will the weight cut affect his power and how does fighting a smaller faster fighter affect him. These are very Interesting questions that will get answered in this fight. I am going to go with Rung in this fight as I think he is a little more focused. Mike: Interesting Doc I don't agree I think this fight is were Apollo puts it all together and spoils Rungs 205lb Debut. Mike: Up Next we have the Co-Main Event of the evening in a 145lb fight between Virgil Morgan and Sadiq Hossein. Virgil is from New York and fights out of the Bjorn O'Donnel Camp. Virgil is a Interesting fighter as he has fought in multiple weight classes and he is the current Future Fighting 145lb champ. He is coming off a loss in his last fight and took some time away to train. His Opp Sadiq is from New York and fights out of the Uncle Lar Camp. Sadiq has fought more times in TTFC than any other fighter in the world. He has fought for the TTFC title 6 times only to come up short each time. He has fought 59 times in his career and has never had a boring fight. A Interesting fact about this fight is that Sadiq is 5 wins away from being the TTFC all time wins leader. Doc what do you think about this fight? Doc: Well this is one of the fights I was most excited about when I seen this card announced. I think this fight has the making to be fight of the night. Both of these fighters are well rounded but I do think that Virgil has the advantage if the fight hits the ground as he has shown the ability to submit more fighters than Sadiq. I believe Sadiq has the best chin in the division he has only been koed twice and that was by the same fighter and the hardest hitting 145lb fighter in TTFC in the 145lb Champ Natsu Dragneel. This fight could go a lot of ways but I don't think it will end in a stoppage. I truly believe this fight will go the distance. I think the Key to this fight will be if Virgil can get a takedown and control Sadiq on the ground as he will not want to stand and trade with Sadiq as that would make it harder to get the win. I think Sadiq's Key to this fight is to stay standing and throw punches in bunches and out point Virgil. That being said I am going with Sadiq to get the victory here as he just seems to be able to win most of his fights as long as its not for a title. lol Mike: I have to say I disagree with you again Doc as I think Virgil is going to be able to use his kicks and takedowns to win a decision here. Mike: Up Next we have the Main Event of the Evening in a 170lb title fight between Salosen Mara and Igor Yakovchenko. The Challanger Salosen is from Rio de Janeiro and fights out of the Jorma Oltsu Camp. Mara is a former 155lb Gamma Contenders Champ. He has moved up to 170lb class and is 3-0 since doing so. He has looked great in all three fights. The Champ Igor is from New York and fighting out of the Michael Knight Camp. Igor has fought between 155 and 170 all of his career have success at both weight classes. He is coming off 2 straight ko losses at 155lb class in his last 2 fights. Many people believe that the weight cut is starting to be to much for him and he needs to stay at his natural weight class of 170. But Igor is his own man and I don't think he cares much of what anyone thinks. lol Doc how do you see this fight playing out? Doc: Well if you look at these fighters last three fights you would say the champ seems to be in trouble as Mara has won three straight and Igor has went 1-2 but I think those stats are misleading. I think Mara is a ascending fighter but I don't think Mara has lost a step in fact I think he is more focused than ever after losing his last two fights and I think he will be coming out strong. I think Mara has a lot of confidence coming into this fight and will be ready to go to war. This is not a easy fight to predict. Mara seems to be the more accurate fighter and shows more power but Igor seems to be the more active fighter and likes to really push the pace of the fight. Taking all this into consideration I think the Champ will once again defend his belt and get the decision win. What do you think Mike? Mike: Well the easy thing to say is that I agree with you but that's just not what I believe is going to happen. Not only has Igor lost his last two fights he has lost them in devastation fashion by KO. I think his chin is slipping and he is going to have to scale back his aggression and that in my opinion does not bode well for him. He has done well because he was able to push the pace and out point most of his Opps. Now he is going to have to be more careful which will drop his output and could cost him some rounds. With that said I think at the end of this fight TTFC will have a New Champ in Mara. Mike: Well that's all the time we have this week. I want to say thanks to Doc for joining me today and also for everyone watching around the world. This weekends event in Montreal is going to be one for the ages and if you don't have a ticket now you better hurry as they are selling out fast. If you cant get to the show make sure you buy it on PPV. Thanks again and until Saturday Night Bye everyone.
