Hey James, thanks for finally sitting down with us. You’ve been very vocal since you signed with KOTB, are you happy to finally be stepping in the ring?

Yes, I really am. I tried to get fights with other 270k orgs and no one wanted to fight me but here at KOTB there are some great fighters and I am excited to test myself.

You’ve had a ton of success in other orgs, but have never been offered a title shot. Is it satisfying to finally compete for one in your first fight with us?

It really is satisfying. Honestly, I have been offered a title shot but no opponents in the division accepted to fight me, so that was a bummer. But, I am very excited to go the 5 rounds for the first time. I know my cardio level is where it needs to be.

The champion, Murphy MacManus, has been pretty dominant in his reign so far, what are your thoughts on him?

He is the champion for a reason. He has some great stand up skills and he really is a good fighter, but I believe I can take him down. If not in our first fight, I will work back, but I know I can beat him. No disrespect.

 
You have established a world-class ground game so far in your career, do you continue to sharpen those skills, or have you been adding new wrinkles for your next opponent?
 
Well, I keep sharpening those skills. I believe my ground game still needs a lot of work but I also added a few new skills to my arsenal and I know if the time is right, I will use them and they will shock the world. For all of you who think I am a one trick pony, well guess again, I will shock you one day. Thanks for the questions but I am off to training. I really can't wait for the fight.
