Out With The Old, In With The New

Editorial by Justin Credible

While I may seem new to this game to the blind eye, I was once a respected and successful manager, I was no Avon Barksdale or Lance Templeton, hell I wasn’t even a Dana Fight, but I knew what I was doing. I recently signed up as a new manager just to see what events transpired during my absence, who was still around, what the top fight org. was, and just who was ruling the top P4P fighter list. Upon my return I felt lost, overwhelmed and brand new again. There were tons of new managers, new features, new orgs, alliances, companies, and fighters.

See when I left there were one or two (if any) elite ratings, there were just barely sensational. Now I look and see elite on a number of fighter ratings, suddenly I felt like I wasn’t even ready to try and begin again. The new features are great, I am currently running a VIP trial and I must say it is very improved and definitely makes it worth the purchase. I used to run an Org. years ago, we even got up to the #2 fight org. in Montreal (next to the incredible CFC) and back then I thought I was doing a pretty good job. Now I look and see various pay-per views, ratings above 100, sold out arenas, and payrolls thought would’ve made me cry.

The chat room used to be a popular place to go and B.S. about in-game and out of game stuff, a place to get fighter deals done, fighter callouts were made, and alliances formed. Now I drop in there and it is a baron wasteland with little to no activity. The forums seem to be doing quite well, although I was never a big forum guy I’m glad to see some interaction between managers. I am also loving the custom avatars, many of which have made me laugh (quite clever).

I’d also like to take the time to say, although I do like the way the game has progressed I would still like to remember the old days. Back when YB Sol was a feared name, back when CFC and Syn were like the MMATycoon equivalent to Pride and UFC, back when the Blitzkrieg revolution came through, back when the top alliances were Slaughterhouse, The Fighter’s Pit, and Convicted, back when UEC had the first ever K1 tournament, and back when we had Tycoon radio.

I plan on staying around awhile and seeing how the game progresses and if I still got it as a manager. I plan on trying to spin and actually win, and trying to find some of my old friends. I know life sometimes gets in the way and stops us from guilty pleasures like MMAtycoon, Sherdog, Etc. But I’ll make an effort to regain some of my past glory, until then goodbye!
