This will be my first time hosting let's talk MMA so i wanted to start with a big guest i thought about who when it hit me why not start at the top!  So my guest today is MR Mike Tycoon.

JJ:  Mike thanks for taking time out to answer a few questions i know you are a busy man.

Mike: No problem, I am a quick typer ;)

JJ: Now that you have a baby boy at home how are things going in the tycoon household?

Mike:  They are settling down slowly. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have a proper job where I had to get up at 8 AM or something like that. Thankfully I can work at any time of the day and sleep at any time of the day, so it effects me less than I think it would effect most people.

He’s been very well behaved so far… just a couple of days where he had wind and made an unbelievable noise but apart from that, it’s gone better than I had expected.

JJ: In 2015 there was quite a few changes to MMA tycoon.what do you think was the best improvement made last year?

Mike: Well it’s always important to have the fight engine be as good as possible, so people do not get pissed off and rage quit, so probably adjusting the balance among the standing aspect of the game and the ground.

But in general I hope that introducing Buzz, when we have integrated it properly into the main part of the game, will prove to be the most productive addition.

I want to Buzz to ultimately replace news posts from companies and get people following their favorite orgs and companies, to make the game as interactive as possible.

JJ: Is there any big changes coming for 2016?

Mike: The app is the biggest thing and has taken a lot of work at the end of 2015.

A full conversion of the game, which is something like 300 pages, is something I said I would never do. But ultimately the potential market that it opens was just too big not to.
I hope that it brings in several thousand new managers but we will have to wait and see.

We are sort of at a stage now where I am too scared to actually release it in case it doesn’t bring in any new people but I will get the last few bits finished up soon and bite the bullet J

After that I have no set thing as the next big project so we will have to see what people want me to do. It would be nice to rework the event ratings and income, as that is something which has needed attention for a couple of years.

JJ: How has the VIP sales been doing so far this year?

Mike: It could be better; that is why I am holding out a lot of hope for the app. In general, the game’s only really made what you’d call a good wage for a couple of years of the 6 years it’s been active.
The rest of the years it’s been basically a minimum wage job, earning just enough to live off.

That is my choice though. I do plan on increasing the cost of 1 year VIP from $30 to $33 soon… I have not increased the price of VIP at all in the 6 years the site’s been going so if inflation is roughly 3% a year, that equates to a 20% cut in the price.

I will hopefully always leave the 3 month VIP at $10 as that is nice and neat but I need the game to make more money as I could be making probably 3-4 times more in a proper job.

JJ: Mike i think $33 is a fair price for a year VIP,hell even at $35 it would still be a great deal!

JJ:What did Mrs. Tycoon say when you told her you was going to leave your job and do MMA tycoon full time ?

Mike: I have always been self-employed so it wasn't’t really any change. Before Tycoon I did cheap web design for small businesses and individuals like magicians, bands etc. There were some proper weirdos amongst them so I was glad to give it up!

JJ: Hey Mike let's keep that site you made for me among us man,how many times do i have to tell you just because you love feet does not make someone a weirdo.lol

JJ:  ok changing gears a bit If me and you where to arm-wrestle who wins?

Mike: I have no idea. I’ve always been deceptively strong for my size (5 ‘9) but I also injure super easily. Me and my mates do drunk arm-wrestle sometimes but a stag-do incident in Newcastle involving a broken table and nearly a couple of broken arms might have been an unofficial retirement.

JJ: so what you are saying is that yes jay you would win.

JJ:Cruz or Dillashaw?

Mike:  You sent me this before the fight so I will say what I thought then…. I thought you had have to be a lunatic to bet on this fight but as a pickem I went for TJ.

I watched a very small amount of tape on Cruz and thought he was open to a straight right counter from orthodox and with the sheer volume of movement over his entire body, I thought he’d tire faster than TJ.

In the end I did score it 3-2 for TJ (R1,4,5) but I thought it was a poor game plan. I do not understand why you would want to chase someone like Cruz and throw reaching punches. Kick him in the legs and make him come on to you as much as you attack him. That right hand landed like I thought it would but TJ did not throw it much and was mostly southpaw.

SO yeah, I thought it was a poor game plan by TJ and his corner.

JJ: Well i made a small bet on Cruz to win online at a site called bovada they are i made a nice little profit.
Name one boxer you think could have beat mike Tyson the night he fought spikes?

Mike: Butter bean.

JJ: That,s funny Mike ! lol  that was a joke right mike .

Tell the truth mike if you wanted to win every fight you take in this game you could?

Mike: I could change all my stats if I wanted, so yeah, I could probably win nearly all the fights.

JJ: You could give my fighters better stats and they still wont win!lol

Mike is there anything you want to add?

Mike: Just a general thank you to everyone who’s playing the game! And in terms of moving foreword, when the app does come out, please do download and rate it.

I cannot emphasis enough how much it helps when people do that. I’ve asked people to download BetMMA.tips apps in the past and have been disappointed with the number of people who have helped out.

This sort of thing is what will keep the game going, so 30 seconds of your time to download it; not to overstate things but it could be the difference between the game bringing in enough income for me to justify doing this full time or not, if enough people help me out.

On a more positive note. Please everyone get involved in the forums and discuss ways you want to improve the game. As I say, when the app's done, I am open to suggestions on what people want working on next.

JJ: Mike I know you are a busy man so i will let you get back to it thanks for answering my questions today.

Mike: No problem and thank you for your help editing the Tycoon Times. Same goes to everyone else who helps out with the forums, chat, doing the awards etc. I genuinely couldn't’t run the game without you guy!

JJ: you heard the man go get that BetMMA.tips apps it only takes 30 seconds well i got an old phone it took like 45 seconds for me but still pretty fast, man i need a new phone.

If you  would like to do a interview or have one of your fighters interviewed just sent me a Pm with "Hey Let's Talk MMA Jay" in it or buzz #TALKMMAJAY
