This Saturday March 5th Rio Chain Gang and Spartan Nutrition will present RCG PPV 1: Kristoffer vs Stein at the Estadio do Maraca arena in Rio. This will be Rio Chain Gang's first event to go out live over the airways via pay per view. This promises to be a very exciting night of fights, with two title belts on the line and a card filled with fan favorites.

In the heavyweight division we will see Lars Kristoffer make his first title defense. In the welterweight division we will see two “Bad Boy of the Month” winners face off as Yngve Stolt defends his belt against Tupa Dufu. The card also features many of the biggest names in the Chain Gang, such as crowd pleasers Jumbo Mambo, Alexander Shlemenko, and Billy Gruff. We will also be saying goodbye to one of the Chain Gang greats as ex-champ Kallie Kettu makes his final appearance before heading to London to avenge previous losses.

OK, lets get down to it. The night starts out with a light heavyweight fight between “The Jester of Genocide” Mr Joker (3-0) and George Chuvalo (5-4). This is a rematch from RCG 4, in that fight Mr Joker was able to secure an instant takedown and surprised Chuvalo with a vicious ground and pound attack which led to a quick KO. Chuvalo will be prepared this time I think, since requesting the rematch he has had time to improve his takedown defense. Mr Joker is no match for Chuvalo in the stand up game and Chuvalo will give the not so humble Mr Joker his first loss.

Al says: Chuvalo by KO in round one.

The undercard continues with Luk Yuha (10-6) facing Gary “Goat” Glover (6-3) in the welterweight division. Glover is a well rounded fighter but has a suspect chin. Yuha is boxer with tremendous power looking to bounce back after an unsuccessful title shot. These two met in RCG 6 with Yuha scoring a first round KO, I expect the same will happen here.

Al says: Yuha by a quick KO in round one.

Next we see Bobby “Bonecrusher” Bones (18-9) and Jakob “The Viking” Filby (8-5) battling it out for position in the middleweight division. Bones is a submission magician win all 18 wins coming by way of subs. Filby is mainly a clinch fighter with dangerous knees. Bones seems to be able to handle himself in the clinch and if Filby goes there Bones will take him down and it won't be long before Filby will be tapping out.

Al says: Bones by sub in round two.

The undercard finishes with a bantamweight fight between Fred “The Natural Born Killer” Alsop (15-4) and Sambulo “The Whirlwind” Yeboah (6-4). This one should be a great match up, both fighters like to fight on the ground but can hold their own in the stand up as well. I can see this one going either way, Sambulo has an edge in the stand up and I expect Alsop to try to clinch up. Both of these fighters are dangerous on the ground and are capable of tapping the other out. Alsop still seems demoralized from his recent loss and that may just give Sambulo enough of an edge to get back into the win column.

Al says: Sambulo by decision.

The main card begins with Billy “The G.O.A.T.” Gruff (7-0) facing off against Tyrone “Ding Dong 40,000” Spunkly (7-2-1). The undefeated Gruff is looking to continue his march to the top of the division but will be facing the toughest opponent in his career. Spunkly is the the former heavyweight champion of the old Dignity fight org and is dangerous in all aspects of the game. This should be fireworks, both of these fighters have the power to end the fight with one good punch. If the fight goes to the ground I believe Spunkly will take it, but I don't think it will last long enough. One way or another, someone is going down.

Al says: Flip a coin.

Next we have a number one contender match up to see who will be the next challenger for the middleweight belt as Christian “Kommandant” Volland (8-1) takes on Arman Petrosyan (9-5). Petrosyan is a clinch fighter that has some awesome elbow skills which has helped him win five of his nine victories by way of TKO cut. Volland is a skilled ground fighter that has proven he can handle himself in the stand up as well. If Petrosyan clinches up as expected, I think he will be unable to keep the fight standing. Volland has been flawless with his takedowns from the clinch throughout his career and will most likely do it again. Petrosyan is a competent ground fighter but Volland has some awesome submission skills and should rack up his eighth submission victory.

Al says: Volland by submission in round two.

In one of the most anticipated fights of the night, next up is a five round fight for the championship belt in the welterweight division. The undefeated, undisputed, champion “Prince” Yngve Stolt (6-0) will defend his title belt for the third time, this time against Tupa Dufu (12-4). This is an exciting match up, both of these fighters are “Bad Boy of the Month” award winners, Stolt this past December and Dufu was just named in February. Dufu is one of the most popular fighters in RCG and with an expected full house of 12,000 fans Stolt will have to deal with not only Dufu but most likely a rambunctious crowd. Stolt is a well rounded, highly skilled fighter in all aspects of MMA. Dufu is perhaps in the top five of all clinch fighters in MMA today, and few can stand up to the type of onslaught Dufu brings to the cage. No one has been able to stand up to Stolt, but Dufu holds a big edge in experience and presents Stolt with his biggest test yet. This one will be a great fight to watch.

Al says: Flip a coin

We finish off the main card with a light heavyweight bout with Alexander “The Storm” Shlemenko (8-4) taking on Bernardo “Pikachu” Muriel (16-7). Muriel is a hall of fame fighter from last seasons Island org The Leftovers, an experienced fighter that has shown he has the power to put you down and the stamina to go the distance. Shlemenko is a highly skilled fighter that has been facing more experienced and trained fighters his whole career. Shlemenko is young and has a bright future ahead of him, but I'll go with experience here.

Al says: Muriel by decision.

In our first main event, we have a heavyweight match up featuring former champ Kalle Kettu (13-6) and January “Bad Boy of the Month” Jumbo “Grizzies” Mambo (6-0). Kettu makes his final RCG appearance before heading to London to avenge his loss in the finals at the season ending tournament on the Island. This should be a great stand up battle, both of these guys are fantastic boxers and show no mercy to their opponents. Kettu has an edge in experience and can handle himself in and out of the clinch. The undefeated Mambo has shown tremendous power, only one person has ever stood up to him for more than one minute and he didn't even make it to a minute and a half. If Kettu can make it past the one minute mark, he may just deal Mambo his first loss, but that first minute might turn out to be hell for Kettu.

Al says: Who knows.

We finish the night off with the biggest fight of the year to date, the undisputed heavyweight champion Lars “Slaughterhouse” Kristoffer (11-4) will defend his belt against the undefeated Elias Stein (8-0). Stein is a talented clinch fighter that has some real power. Kristoffer is one of the great stand up fighters in RCG, effective in and out of the clinch. Stein will have his hands full if he takes it into the clinch with Kristoffer, but Stein has some real power with all of his wins coming by way of KO, six in round one. I think Kristoffer will withstand Steins power, wear him down and outscore him on points.

Al says: Kristoffer by decision.
