 ISLAND FC 14 we were at the Hayashi's Lounge to prezent to you 10 competitive fights in a card headead by the bantamweight champion defending her belt 6 finishes and 4 decisions made this our longest event to date....the main atraction of the night were the fights obviously, but, the performance of several local musical bands and a Sholin Monk siminair kept all fans happy and very entretained ....was not our best event to date regarding $$, but who said life is alll about $$?.....nah....we brought to you Martial Arts and some of the most talented newcomer managers in the game.....we have a solid, compact and hard working team and WE WILL PREVAIL.....now let me break it down what went on:
135 lbsTITLE FIGHT Miesha Tate vs Winston Roscoe
In this fight we had our bantamweith Afrodithe champion Miesha Tate defending her belt agains a contender that was having the oportunity to get the belt for the second time, hes first attempt was against former champion Charlie Gamma were he got submited in a very good fight...this time he came up short too ....he was taken down as soon as the fight started and when they hit the matt ...he was just siting there didnt ry to escape, hardly try to improve position and you canot do that against a fighter of Tate caliber...Tate took hes championship record up another level and is now part of Island FC top 10 pound for pound....defended her belt still undefeated and the sky is the limit for this young man $#? or woman or wtf you want to call her...lol....Acertained 1st round submision win for Miesha Tate.....(SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT AWARD)
155 lbs Pyry Kontio vs Obat Timur
Pyry Kontio is a FinnFighters representative...and you know those guys they allways bring it and they doing it once again ....The Erkki Perähikiä fighter is a wonderfull wrestler with very good submissions ,he looks to be growing hes skill levels well and he kept hes 0 ....this was hes first fight for Island FC ....and what a debut this was he scored a first round finish...but it was not all a bed of roses...in fact Timur started the fight etter and he was doing a very good job from the clinch until sudently ,for whatever reason ,he decided to pull guard against a much superior BJJ fighter....not a good idea and he paid capital price for it ....Kontio waisted no time he was trying to sink something or grab something ,he kept very agressive looking for the finish and he got it .....Pyry Kontio 1st round win by Submission
265 lbs Gaku Nakanishi vs Harry Balls
This fight lasted nearly two rounds and Gaku dominated for the intire time ...he played tactics to perfection ....realizing pretty soon he had no business with Harry on the clinch....he drove trough a single leg put Harry's ass in the matt and pounded him for nearly 10 minutes...Harry still manage to get back to hes feet for a couple of times but faild miseribly when trying to avoid being taken down...then he faced ground and pound at the highst level....Gaku Nakanishi acertained 2nd round Submission(STRIKES) win
170 lbs Tobious Khan vs Ralph Wiggum
Thats a very good exemple of what happends when you over agressive against a better striker....you end up geting knock the f#$? out....Ralph was going toomuch for that clinch and working agressivly loosing the preception of damage inflicted and taken....he was the one doing the work while Khan was acting more like a sniper...very acurate and eficient with hes strikes he was doing damage with every single shot that hit the target....until Ralphs legs could not take it anymore he curled and cover himself while Khan rained down punches.....Clever TKO 1st round win for Tobious Khan
205 lbs Hagrid Potter vs Bully Doggy
This contest was between two new comer fighters both having their professional mma debut here ...and wht a venue to do so...they where both very determined to get their first win...Bully was trying to keep the fight on the outside hooping that one of those powerfull kicks would hit the target...while Potter looked very relaxed and versitile mixing up well hes skills and leaving hes oponent guessing what he was trying to do.....it was not the best fight ever but a very decent display by both rookies.....but the noise those leg kicks were making when they hit Bully's legs cought the eye of the judges....decent Decision win for Hagrid Potter
135 lbs Royce Disgracie vs Bao Tran
Royce looked like he had a shot of adrenaline before the fight i think he need to get tested by the medical comission...its not normal lol....he absolutly man handled Bao Tao for the intire 3 rounds he show exelente dity boxing skills and above all incredible heart and determination....Bao Tran was sacked after the fight and now sells lollypops outside the hard knocks...lifes a bitch....Dominante Decision win for Royce Disgracie
145 lbs Ace Solonik vs Patrick Krupok
Ace footwoork and speed able him to go in and out very quick .....if you put that with a left hook that can put a cow to sleep...you have a very dangerous striker....thats what we have with Ace ....shame we dind got to see more of him hoopfully hes nest fight will give us a better clue on what to expect from him...FAST & BRUTAL ...Ace Solonik wins 1st round KO ...(KO OF THE NIGHT AWARD)
265 lbs Augustus Sin vs Nathan Explosion
This was a briliant performance from the newcomer Augustus and a brave performance as allways from Nathan....both fighters locked horns in this 3 rounder and took the fans off their feet with their exiting styles.....both fighter put their heart into this one and was not the most technical fight but was defenitly the hardest fought by both fighters....they had to go trough hell to reach the end off the bout and each man was tested to the limit the fans loved it and so did we...well done warriors ......Augustus Sin won the Decision (FIGHT OF THE NIGHT AWARD)
155 lbs Roberto Climaxia vs Troy Jackson
Jackson brawling style gave him the edge on the first round and won him the first round ...but Climaxia technic and heart came to play a big factor on round 2 and 3 .....he kept hes composure and slowly but surly started to catching up with Jackson and eventualy edge him up...it was not easy but a well deserved win.....Climaxia is well managed by Rico and you will hear from him in the future....Hoopfull Decision win by Roberto Climaxia
135 lbs Wyatt Twinkletoe vs Jackson James
This two fighters were both looking for their first win and one of them will have to score it....The most determined fighter to reach that goal was Twinkletoe....he had 0ne plan and one plan only...take the fight to the Matt and crank that arm....hoopfully this win will boost hes moral and get him up the ranks .....for jackson i think he needs to go back to basics and try to improve hes game in the gym......finaly Wyatt Twinkletoe wins by the way of Submission
