 So it seems that Alexander Melchiott guy is at it again. In a press release, the founder of The Foundry, (currently operated by his partner in crime, Antony Conway), declared the opening of a new project. Claiming there was, once again, a gap in the Montreal training scene, Melchiott announced the opening of the Fight Factory. The Fight Factory will be a well-maintained, high-quality gym with elite staff. Melchiott hopes this new endeavor will prove fruitful to the MMA scene in Montreal.
After sharing a bit of his recent frustrations with the lack of gyms in Montreal and the current unreliability of one, Melchiott said that ultimately it isn't he that is suffering from the lack of training options. Melchiott pointed towards the sport in general, claiming that the fighters in Montreal are unable to get the quality training they need in order to remain competitive with the rest of the world. The fans also deserve better, as no-one is interested in watching sub-par fighters flail about in the cage.
Melchiott hopes that the fighters and managers of Montreal will appreciate his recent efforts to improve the training scene.
With Melchiott's attention split between The Foundry, the Vale Tudo Fight Club, Island FC, and now The Fight Factory, one has to wonder just how much work he'll be able to put into this project. Of course, Melchiott assured us that he has his bases covered. He's got a strong team of managers who he can lean on if he needs to, including his very close associates -- Lee Morrison and Antony Conway.
If Melchiott's words are true, then we should certainly see some improvements in the MMA scene in Montreal. Here's hoping he doesn't mess this up.
