Ahsan Hamed on ROV Lightweight title defense

Fighter profile of Ahsan Hamed by Rain Thunder

Ahsan Hamed is the current ROV Lightweight world champion, that has a proffesional record of (5-2) with all 5 wins coming by way of KO/TKO. Under the banner of Ring of Violence organisation, Hamed is undefeated and has gathered all 5 of his wins here. A spectacular champion went to the outer world for superfights to try to gain glory, money and fame, but has failed in doing that and these failires have now tarnished his undefeated record and his winning streak. But Hamed is still looking to stack up a win column, and he has now returned to ROV to make his 1st Lightweight title defense. On May 14th, he will face a very uneasy opponent for him, South Korean grappler Lee Sang Seok (3-0).

Ahsan Hamed is well known for his devastating kicking ability in the octagon. 3 out of his 5 finishes have came by head kicks, and you can often see him batter his opponents legs, arms and ribs with these hard kicks with the shinbone. As his career progressed, Ahsan started showing improvement on his hands, making him one of the most versatile strikers in his ID restriction today.  Also, having defended against 88.2% of his opponent's attempted takedowns, this makes him an obviously great sprawl and brawl type of fighter.

But Ahsan has quite a flaw in his game, that he is looking to erase - his grappling techniques are basic and he is often making critical errors on the ground, which make him very vulnarable against the guys that know what they're doing on the mat. Lee Sang Seok, a world-class BJJ black belt will be looking to expose just that. Having won all 3 of his proffesional MMA bouts by way of Submission, the Korean will more than likely be looking to force the champion to grapple and fight where Seok feels best.

"He is probably my toughest opponent yet." - says Ahsan. "He comes from a BJJ background, and I have already struggled against a similar type grappler, Vinny Bronson, before. But I feel that this time is somehow a bit different. I have been training my BJJ, fixing the major flaw in my fight game when I got the call from Storman Norman offering me to defend my title against Seok. I have instantly re-scheduled my training sessions to fit the needs of fighting him perfectly. I will be physically, technically and strategically ready for this title defense. It's a challenge but that's how you earn a name for yourself - by overcoming adversity and doing things people think you can't do. This is what makes this sport awesome."
