Jay: Hey there everybody and welcome to Ray & Jay's Excellent MMA Adventures. I'm Mr Amazingly Amazing and with me is my pops, Mr Fabulously Flamboyant. (Laughs) And today's show we will cover UPF 49: Hapitchou - McCarthy 2 which takes place this Saturday at The Pipeline in Hilo. Its expected to be close to sold out, so don't delay, get your tickets today. It's gonna be a great card as our bantamweight champion defends his belt and many others look to leave a good impression on both the judges and on the matchmakers hoping for their opportunities to move up in the ranks.

But, we should start into the fights now. Father, why not tell our fans about the opening fight.

Ray: Hey everybody Ray here. Let's get right down to business. The night starts off with a battle in the lightweight division between Anthony "Showtime" Placencia and Dan Kolov. Placencia is in desperate need of a win here after losing 4 of his last 5 fights. Kolov will be stepping into the cage for the very first time professionally. He's a Mauy Thai specialist with excellent kicks, which he used to his advantage to win the European amateur kickboxing championship last year. He has a bright future ahead of him but I'm afraid he will need to develop some ground skills before he can reach his potential. I'm going with the veteran here, Placencia by decision.

Jay: Decision? Nah! I think it'll be a good fight but won't go the distance. I managed to catch Placencia at the airport as he arrived in Hilo today for the fight. I asked his thoughts on how he thinks the fight will pan out and this is what he said "Two words: It's Showtime, Baby! Ok well three words." I haven't had the luxury of talking with Kolov but I think his debut will go well, up to the point where Placencia scores the takedown and then the quick sub after.

Predictions
Ray: Placencia by decision.
Jay: Placencia by submission at 2:31 of round 2.

Jay: Max Payne and Monty Python "Flying Circus" are next up. At welterweight these guys are fast! Max will most likely use his "bullet time" to try to punch Monty in the mouth, or the eye, or maybe even the gut a few times, might even throw in some kicks.

On the other hand the Flying Circus will be working hard for the takedown. And with his blackbelt, if it does end up on the mat, Python will force an easy tap. Max doesn't have the strongest takedown defense, so it won't be long before he is screaming in pain as Monty is breaking an arm off!
Ray: Python by sub? No way! For anybody that believes all that garbage that my son was just spouting, I have a bridge for sale in San Francisco, beautiful piece of property with a fancy name, they call it the Golden Gate Bridge, call me! But to get back to the fight, Python will never get this to the mat. I don't expect him to be conscience past the one minute mark! Payne by KO EARLY in round 1.

Predictions
Jay: Python by submission at 1:22 of round 1.
Ray: Payne by KO at 0:47 of round 1.

Ray: Back to lightweight for the next match up. Don Fagaro and Billy "Deep" Bush are scheduled for the third fight on the undercard. Fagaro is a stand out ground fighter but is badly outmatched in the stand up, and he has a suspect chin. If he can get the fight to the ground,

I think Fagaro can take this. Bush is a ground fighter but can handle himself in the stand up. I think Bush will try to keep this one standing where he holds the advantage. But in the end I think Fagaro will finally get his takedown and pull out a submission victory in round 2.
Jay: Well I see this one differently. I think that Fagaro will get a quick takedown due to Bush allowing takedowns. Then, Fagaro will have a boosted ego and false confidence after the takedown and play right into Bush's gameplan. Fagaro will find himself sitting in Bush's guard, when Bush tries to slap a submission on, Fagaro will roll with it end up on his back and Bush will surprise the MMA world with a huge upset. Bush ends his losing streak with the upset of the night!

Predictions
Ray: Fagaro by submission at 3:51 of round 2.
Jay: Bush by submission at 2:41 of round 2.

Jay: Alrighty, we finish up the undercard with a bantamweight bout between "Fuel and Fire" Pyryx Dall and his opponent Julian Thompson. Dall is a very well rounded fighter, with high levels of skill across the board, but with most of his wins coming by way of submission.

Thompson is also a well rounded fighter but specializes in boxing. With all his win by KO, Thompson shows some decent power and an ability to score a KO even in the third round. Thompson has only been subbed once, by a brown belt. But, Dall has a brown belt as well and a stronger wrestling base than Thompson. Dall will almost definitely be looking to take this fight to the mat, where he will quickly work his transitions into a more dominate position and force Thompson to "Tap or Snap." Yet another submission on the card.
Ray: While I agree with you on Dall going for the takedowns, I see it going a deferent way. Dall will try over and over to score that takedown but he will fail miserably. He will expend all of his energy and then Thompson will move in for the kill. Besides all you have to do is look at Thompson's record; win, loss, win, loss, win, loss... And now it's time for a win. Thompson by KO round 2.

Predictions
Jay: Dall by submission at 1:23 of round 2.
Ray: Thompson by KO at 4:20 of round 2.

Ray: The UPF's former bantamweight champion of the world starts off the main card, Malik Billings will face off with the undefeated Yaseen Kruger. Kruger has looked sharp throughout his young career. But faces his biggest challenge yet. Billings has had a tough time since losing his belt. He's an incredible talent, but the rift with his previous manager really took its toll. The change in management may have been just what Billings needed. I see Billings dealing the undefeated Kruger his first loss. It will come by way of submission in round 1.

Jay: That seems entirely possible. Billings told me earlier this week that he's happy with his new management and to look for him to get his stride back. He said that he is in the best shape of his life and that he will avenge every loss. He also told me that give him a few fights and he'll be fighting for the belt again. And you know what? I believe him. I'm not 100% sure if he can take the belt back but let's see how his next few fights go after he beats Kruger, probably by sub.

Predictions
Ray: Billings by submission at 1:40 of round 2.
Jay: Billings by submission at 3:46 of round 3.

Jay: Fight two on the maincard is in the featherweight division. A rematch between Cristoff Melkovick and Striker Mc Steel. These two fought back at UPF 36 with Melkovick coming out on top with a decision, Mc Steel's only loss. This one is your classic standup Vs ground fighter. Striker obviously being the standup fighter. I see Melkovick trying to get the takedown and Mc Steel landing counter punches for his troubles and scoring more points this time around. Melkovick will come up just short in this one. Striker Mc Steel by decision.

Ray: I could see either guy taking this fight. The only thing for sure is that this is gonna be a great one, lots of action. I'm gonna go with the Striker Mc Steel because I love to watch these two fight. And maybe we can set up a rubber match down the line. Mc Steel by decision.

Predictions
Jay: Mc Steel by decision.
Ray: Mc Steel by decision.

Ray: We go ALL the way up to the heavyweight division for this next fight. The dangerous David Cain will enter the cage with "The Man In Black" Diabolical Denubis. I see these two guys going at it toe 2 toe, trading punches with no clear leader. At some point in the fight Denubis will take it to the mat a couple of times and will outscore his opponent on the ground which will ultimately prove to be the difference. Denubis by decision.
Jay: While I do believe you are correct pops, I also have to disagree. Where my opinion differs is that if the fight hits the mat, Cain doesn't have the necessary ground skill to last the entire fight. So Cain will just have to keep this one standing. In trying to do so he will sap his own energy and without enough energy Cain won't be able to defend the submissions correctly and Denubis will win via submission.

Predictions
Ray: Denubis by decision.
Jay: Denubis by submission at 3:42 of round 2.

Jay: We started the maincard with a former champion and now we end the maincard with another former champ, Daniel "The Lion" Judah was the champ of the middleweight division and looks to get back to the top, but must run through a young blackbelt first. Emil "The Spider" Gustafsson will be looking to avoid the hands of "The Lion" and will attempt to take the fight down. Emil has great takedowns but Daniel has wonderful takedown defense as well. So I feel that aspect of the fight will be neutralized and it will come to the standup aspect and Judah has Gustafsson outclassed. Judah by KO late in round 1.
Ray: You know there was a rumor going around that since same sex marriage has been legalized that Daniel and Emil are actually engaged now. Have you heard anything about that? You know if it's true?
Jay: Of course it true, have you seen the way they look at each other? (Laughs) No, actually I did hear about that. Apparently, "Cardinal" Luis Cardoza, after losing to Gustafsson started spreading this rumor. Although, it does kinda seem like there is a little truth to it. (Chuckles)
Ray: Oh, my bad. Never mind. It would be wired though right? Fighting your fiancé. Tough love I guess. Anyway back to reality, I used up a lot of time so I'll just say Gustafsson by KO in round 3.

Predictions
Jay: Judah by KO at 4:11 of round 1.
Ray: Gustafsson by KO at 2:30 of round 3.

Ray: The first main event sees two heavyweights duke it out for three scheduled rounds, Zebaztian "Viking " Nord and Wiremu "Billy T" Williams. One things for sure, this fight won't last long. They both come into the cage like a freight train, ready to roll over anything in front of them. While I think Nord might have the slight advantage here I'm not ready to call the fight for him. But I'm not ready to call it for Williams either. So the best advice I have is flip a coin. So let's see (Pulls a coin from his pocket) heads is Nord (flips the coin and it comes up tails) Looks like I'm going with Williams by KO in round 1.
Jay: I'm gonna keep mine nice and simple. UPF veteran Nord by KO. Maybe break Williams' glass jaw. First round KO.

Predictions
Ray: Williams by KO at 1:00 of round 1.
Jay: Nord by KO at 0:32 of round 1.

Jay: Are you guys ready for a championship fight? Well you'll have to wait until Saturday but we can talk about it now. (Chuckles) Cormac McCarthy has already lost once to the bantamweight champion "Big Trouble" PePe Hapitchou by decision back at UPF 39. Since their bout PePe has successfully defended his belt twice and Cormac has two KO's and a draw. Cormac told me earlier that PePe's run is over. He said that "The champ is a has been. His best days are behind him and mine are just starting. The time for Cormac McCarthy has arrived!" To which the champ commented "That's fine he thinks I'm washed up. And after I beat his ass on Saturday I'm going to marry his mother and become his new daddy." There is a lot of bad blood between these two. It's going to be one hell of a brawl. We very well could see a new champ. But I'm sticking to my gut and it says the current champ. He will control all five rounds and pick up an easy decision victory.
Ray: The last time these two met the champ pull out a decision victory but is was closer then it looked on the score cards. McCarthy's manager Mr Gutz seems very confident that he has made the necessary adjustments to get the victory. I'm going with McCarthy by decision here. He will fulfill his life long goal of becoming the UPF's bantamweight champion.

Predictions
Jay: Hapitchou by decision.
Ray: McCarthy by decision.

Jay: So as a recap, we talked about our bantamweight championship, two former champs on the card, couple top end battles for positional rankings, probably a few future champs as well, and several other bad ass fights too. And all fights were brought to you by AnonymouS, the UPF's official merchandise partner, in Montreal where John Mallon makes the best clothing at the best pricing available. So make sure you're at The Pipeline on Saturday because only 6500 people are getting through the doors to watch an action packed night of fights! Well I'm pretty much done so it's time for a dab. Peace I'm off to take my dabs. (Stands up and walks away)
Ray: Until next time, I'm Ray signing off.
