 Pulse Fighting Championships 30

Main event: Chonan vs. Abarai II

Coming straight from the anime Bleach, Renji Abarai is definitely looking to try to his supernatural powers to take the fight to the ground and keep it there. With five impressive submission victories, Abarai finished four out of his five submission victories in the first round. Defeated the first time around against Chonan by way of 2nd round TKO, Abarai is certainly seeking revenge this time around.

On the other side of the pond, Piranha Chonan, the undefeated PFC middleweight champion, will be looking to keep this fight on foot and defending against Abarai's ground game. A superior striker, his 8-0 record has ended with 7 TKO finishes against powerful strikers such as Sebastian Ostereguy. However, Chonan is not afraid to go to the ground if need be; as he himself is a strong grappler. Renji Abarai has to be careful against Chonan; as he will be looking for yet another finish.

Hotline vs. Ishida

Fighting in the big boys' league, both Ishida and Hotline are top contenders in PFC. Ishida, well-versed in both the submission game and in striking as well, holds the majority of his victories coming by way of KO or submission in the first round. Hotline is no joke either, holding a solid 5-1 record, he is looking to control the pace of the fight and prevent any wild behavior on Ishida's part. However, Ishida must be careful in this fight, as his morale currently stands at near 0.

Breznhev vs. Dier

In the lightweight division, Breznhev vs. Dier is the battle of opposites. Breznhev will be looking to take the fight to the ground and pounding Dier's face in. Dier will prefer to keep the fight standing using his slight height and weight as well as his solid boxing skills to keep Breznhev's ground and pound game away. This fight will inevitably come down to whether Breznhev can get that takedown or if Dier can keep the fight on foot at all costs.

Bolton vs. Madarame

Another of Grimmjow's fighters, one of them being Renji Abarai, Ikkaku Madarame has to be careful against a powerful striker such as Bolton, whom all of his six victories coming by way of KO or TKO. While Ikkaku may be a more well-rounded fighter, I would give the edge to Bolton on this fight if he can keep the fight on his terms in the standup game.

Von Goat vs. Sakoenie

Von Goat is a Quick Fight Championship veteran, arguably the (G)reatest (O)f (A)ll (T)ime in the QFC league (see what I did there? no? okay...), is a solid Muay Thai fighter. On the other hand, Sakoenie will be looking to use punches and perhaps the clinch against Von Goat to secure a TKO. Both fighters, I doubt, will be looking to take the fight to the ground, so expect a standup brawl in this one.

Akhmetov vs. Gozu

Gozu will definitely be looking to take the fight to the ground against Akhmetov, who is a better standup fighter. The decision will come down to whether Gozu can land the takedown or Akhmetov can keep him on his feet and outstrike Gozu.

Saskatchewan vs. Munk

A practitioner of Buddhi... Muay Thai, Munk is no joke in the standup game. With a former career in WWE.. (or was it CM Punk?), CP Munk can throwdown if need be. However, against a far more solid wrestler such as Saskatchewan, I doubt CP Munk will be looking to take the fight to the ground. Saskatchewan will be looking for those openings to take the fight to the ground and keep it there at all costs.

Morinoivicus vs. Westjoin

Westjoin holds an advantage over Morinoivicus in overall skill. This fight is simple: if Westjoin can keep the fight standing, Morinoivicus won't stand much of a chance against Westjoin. Plus, look at that hair on Westjoin! That's a victory in and of itself.

Guina vs. Luciano

A couple of newbs to the MMA world, both Guina and Luciano possess specialization in BJJ and wrestling. As purple belts in BJJ, this fight will look more like the TWGC with some ground and pound mixed in. I look forward to these newbs becoming star fighters in the future.

Fury vs. Captain Hook

Two titans in the heavyweight division will be duking it out. Fury, a well-rounded fighter, can take the fight to the ground or keep it standing up. However, he must be careful of Hook's BJJ skills, as he can catch Fury taking a nap on him.
