GAMMA 565 Review

Global Association of MMA, Fight Organization, London
Company profile by Mentor Guru Corleone

Renan St. Juste holds a impressive veteran record of 59-20-2 (W-L-D), finishing the majority of his fights through TKO or KO. Although St. Juste has veered off GAMMA for very brief periods in his career, St. Juste has always maintained a keen loyalty to GAMMA. Gale Hawthorne,

St. Juste's manager, recognizes GAMMA"s top position in MMA(Tycoon) and has always directed St. Juste back to GAMMA.

Maintaining a dominant position in the welterweight division, St. Juste has fought the majority of his GAMMA tenure as the champion, and occassionally, as the challenger.

Known for his serious KO power, St. Juste is an elite level kickboxer and striker, never finished by strikes (his two TKOs were by cuts).

"RIP" Rufus McTearson is a warrior to be feared. Holding a 34-14-2 record under the management of Dom Jaehnke, from which the majority of his career played out in GAMMA, half of his victories have come through TKO or KO. Never finished by strikes, Rufus McTearson's chin has yet to be tested.

Known for his versatile standup and quick strikes, McTearson is a vicious and versatile fighter. As the reigning GAMMA WW Champion, Rufus McTearson seeks to defend his title against his archrival, Renan St. Juste.

Both sides of the party are stuck in a heated rivalry between the two, as McTearson and St. Juste has fought before for the championship title.

Coming into this fight, both fighters are very evenly matched on foot, where both want to keep the fight. I would give the advantage to St. Juste, however, due to his experience and slightly more skilled and powerful standup game.

Rnd 1: St. Juste was both the aggressor and the counter-striker in round 1. Pushing the pace of McTearson while at the same time looking for opportunties to counter, St. Juste only established a slight edge over McTearson, as McTearson scored with several strikes and head kicks of his own.

Rnd 2: Cumulative body strikes by both fighters certainly limited the pace of the fight. The key turning point was mid-round, where McTearson became gassed by several body kicks and strikes by St. Juste. From there on, it seems to me as St. Juste won that round, as McTearson was continually out-traded in points.

Rnd 3: This round looked more like a boxing match, in which the match was evenly matched. It seemed to me that both fighters exchanged fairly equally in this round. A key point to note is that St. Juste has effectively limited McTearson's cardio from there on.

Rnd 4: St. Juste pushed the pace early on, however, McTearson did push back. I would just give this round to Juste.

Rnd 5: The fight here in round 5 was even, but, if I had to say, this round should be won by McTearson here.

The fight was very even, but the result ended in McTearson's favor, the new WW champ.

Zeus Leonidas vs. Lan Mandragoran

Under the Mentor Guru Corleone, Zeus Leonidas is one of the top fighters in the game, holding a record of 17-8, 15 victories coming by KO or submission. A long standing veteran of GAMMA, Zeus has maintained a contender status within GAMMA.

Lan Mandragoran is all about leaving it all on the line. With a record of 38-23, a total of 61 fights, only 5 of those fights ended in decision. GAMMA has maintained a spot for Mandragoran as a top competitor in the heavyweight division.

I would give the edge to Zeus Leonidas in this fight, as he holds a slight skill advantage as well as stronger standup skills coming into this fight.

The fight ended and started with the quick combo by Leonidas that dropped Mandragoran to the ground. A superior grappler, Leonidas effortlessly tapped out Mandragoran in the first round.

"The Power" Willy Stoppers vs. Hektor Troy

A long time veteran of GAMMA, willy Stoppers is an insane finisher, holding a record of 52-23, only 7 fights have come by decision, and none of these fights were finished by submission. With 48 (T)KO victories, Stoppers is one fighter to be feared.

Hektor Troy is an excellent standup striker. Under the management of Gerbert Bryant, Hektor has competed successfully in GAMMA as a veteran for the later part of his career.

The edge goes to Stoppers in this fight. This fight might go the distance as Hektor Troy is a very methodical fighter.

Throughout the fight, Stoppers pushed the pace and was the more aggressive fighter, landing more strikes than his opponent.

--

Adolf Hitman vs. Lao Shin

Adolf Hitman and Lao Shin are up and coming GAMMA players. Who will make a bigger splash in their road to the top?

The edge goes to Adolf Hitman in this one. With a more experienced record and powerful boxing, Adolf Hitman will be more effective with his world class boxing.

Throughout the fight, Lao Shin tried to mix things up with kicks as well as punches. However, the fight really went down hill when Lao Shin wanted to clinch up with Adolf, who dominated the fight in the clinch.

The victory goes to Adolf Hitman, with his simple strategy of dominating the fight with his aggressive boxing.

--

Dragon Warfist vs. Pertti Silsa

Dragon Warfist is made for standup. With a record of 28-17-4, Warfist has ended the majority of his fights by (T)KO. On the other hand, "The Meatgrinder" has also ended the majority of his fights by (T)KO. However, Silsa has only been KO'd once. A longer GAMMA fighter, Silsa may have the cards in this fight.

I would just give the edge to Silsa, as Silsa seems to be the more solid fighter here.

The fight went the distance, as either fighter weren't too interested in looking for a One Punch Man finish. However, it is worth noting that Warfist significantly out-traded Silsa. The victory went to Warfist in this one.

--

Orkan Dogu vs. Paul Landen

Other than having a weirder name than Paul, Orkan has a quite a few GAMMA fights. With a record of 32-22, Orkan can go to the ground as well dance on foot.

Paul Landen, under the management of DUEL's manager, Satriyo Wibowo, may be looking for a decision-finish tonight. It is worth noting that Paul has a suspect chin, for out of his 19-17 record, all of his losses have come by (T)KO.

The fight ended clearly in Dogu's favor. Once Dogu got the takedown, the GnP was simply too much for Landen to hold.

--

Will Dearborn vs. Alastair Gridlock

A very even welterweight bout, Will Dearborn (26-14) and Alastair Gridlock (25-15) look to keep the fight standing. I would give the edge to Dearborn, however, as he is slightly more skilled.

The fight ended in Dearborn's favor by way of TKO. The fight was really lost in the clinch, where Dearborn was more accurate and aggressive with his strikes.

--

Artem Irhin vs. Shunsui Kyoraku

Making his GAMMA debut, this newcomer has much to go here in the elite of the elite. Irhin may want to keep this fight out of grappling range.

Coming straight from the anime Bleach, Shunsui Kyoraku seems to be the more well-rounded fighter here. With far more experience, Artem Irhin has to be careful in this bout.

The fight was won and ended within the first two minutes. Once Shunshui got the clinch grab on Irhin, it was the beginning of the end. Kyoraku unleashed over 100 strikes on Irhin, who somehow made the distance.

--

Bob Aqua vs. Miguel Pereira

A classic stand and bang fight, Bob Aqua (14-4) seeks to duke it out with Miguel Pereira (12-8). The fight, I would say, goes in favor of Pereira.

Pereira caught Aqua with a classic one punch man style hook, rocking him and then finishing him with strikes. Aqua tired himself out by throwing too many inaccurate shots at Pereira.

--

Stanley Burrell vs. Igor Yakovchenko

Both specialized in boxing, stanley Burrell (34-18-2) and Yakovchenko (34-22-0) went the distance in this fight. However, Stanley Burrell got the upper-hand through outstriking his opponent in this bout.
