Popping off with Redenbacher

Fighter profile of Assistant Coach by

Ladies and Gentleman I sat down with the Blitz NY Champion, who is no doubt one of the very best in the business, Orville Redenbacher. At his weight he is ranked number two in the light heavyweight division and is just outside the top ten as far as pound for pound rankings goes by being #11. Currently Orville is on a nine fight win streak and looks to take out his very next opponent Ignatius Reilly on August 4th at Blitzkrieg 128: Omnicron. Sitting down with Dwayne Perry’s prodigy I was able to learn a lot about the man and his plans and hopes for the future. I hope you enjoy this time reading the interview of Orville Redenbacher, so grab yourself a bag of popcorn and lets get on with it.

Orville Redenbacher it is an absolute honor to be with you, you are the current Blitzkrieg light heavyweight champion and you are training for a very tough opponent in Ignatius Reilly, how is training going? Everything couldnt be better.

Good this is actually our very first time meeting and I have been a fan of yours since I started writing. Is there anything you would like to say for your fans out there before we get started, maybe young fighters who are making their way up the ladder? I would like to tell the young fighters out there to stay hungry. Victory is always just 1 punch away!

Now I have been studying your last nine fights closely and is there anyone out of the nine you feel that poses a bigger threat then the rest to your title? At this level everyone I face is a threat. So i expect to face most of them again at some point and they will be as dangerous as ever.

Now you are actually the eleventh champion of this ORG, the fifth one to be actually called a Blitzkrieg champion, what does that mean to you? It means a lot to be the Blitz champion. That name has stood for quality for as long as i can remember. To be among the lengendary names that have held the title is a great honor for me. I look to hold onto the belt as long as i can and set a record for title defenses.

You are looking to defend your title for a second time against a very tough opponent in Ignatius Reilly, what advantages do you feel you have over the contender? I always pride myself on my game plans. Judging by the primary skills i will once again be a little bit of an underdog in that department. So i will have to fight smart and keep him guessing.

Now both of you had fought Ares Constantinides, a former Blitz NY champion himself, does the fact that he knocked Ares out worry you at all?  Him getting the KO verses Ares was impressive. But those things happen. Sometimes you get caught. But he did lose the first round. I won all 5 rounds which i feel is harder to do

Taking a look at the division for a second, we see that Diggs is looking on getting that number one contender spot back if he defeats Wanderlei which I think he will and Chuck Liddell is making a smooth ride in to the top of the division and if he defeats Brick Topp he will certainly be getting a lot more attention then he is used to. Kauffman is still out due to the injury you left him with after defeating him 25 seconds into the match. Then you have Ignatius who is right in front of you. What do you make of all this? Who would you like to fight after Ignatius? Diggs is really out there showing he wants a rematch. He is looking strong again. So like i said before i expect most of the guys i fought to get back to #1 contender staus very soon. They are too good not to. As for who i would like to fight if i beat Ignatius, Well i want to be the #1 guy in the world. So whoever is highest rank to help me achieve that goal. Thats who i want to fight!

If there was anyone outside the org that you could fight who would it be? Mason "The Predator" Archer (36538)!!! First he has the number 1 ranking. That is my ranking! Second, i will just quote Tank Abbot commenting on Ken Shamrock. "He is a fake, a Fraud, a Sham!!!"

You have been quoted saying, “Once you get popped, you get stopped.” Tell me about the first time you became a champion. You knocked out Bones Jones who had only lost once up until that time and was on a nine fight win streak. At the time that was the biggest win of my like. The fight was in Amsterdam and i was suffering from jet lag and food poisoning. This was back in the old days before all the Luxury Private Jets we have today. But when my music hit those speakers i made that walk to the cage and put on the fight of my life. When the belt was put on my waist the jet lag and the poisoning were gone. I guess its like they say. Winning cures everything!

Thank you Orville it was a great time with you. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to another dominating performance.Do you have any closing statements for Ignatius? Ignatius keep your hands up! If i land clean you will be in trouble. All the Kings horses and all the Kings men won't be able to put you back together again!

I really wish the best for Orville in his next fight against Ignatius and if he ever gets his dream fight against the number one 205lbs fighter ill be rooting for him to take that spot as well. It is a huge honor to take on a role like that and I really believe he can do it. Well folks only time will tell who is next for our champion, Diggs or Archer even someone else but he still has to get past Ignatius Reilly who is a very tough opponent. We look forward to what Blitz NY and Dwayne Perry do with Orville Redenbacher. May God continue to bless you and those you love.
