OMEGA FIGHTING - CAGED RAGE PREVIEW

Omega Fighting and its merchandise partner Urban Fighter are proud to announce that the Omega Cup has officially started, the first rankings are known but on november 27th the deck might get reshuffled completely. On a star-studded card not one, not two but three Omega championships are on the line!

In the main event two champions collide and the co-main event will see a new champion crowned as two challengers look to fill the void left by the former champion. Don’t miss out on a night of action and excitement as the Carnage of the Omega Cup continues!

Main event:

155 lbs - Morrison Lee (11-0) Vs Ahsan Hamed (9-4)

On a card where every main card fight could be the main event, this fight stands out amongst its peers as lightweight champion Morrison Lee puts his title on the line against the current Omega featherweight champion Ahsan Hamed.

Still undefeated, New York’s own Morrison Lee is looking to defend his lightweight title for the fifth time. After three hard fought decision victories Morrison showed that he was headstrong and that he would continue to fight back even when in trouble. In his last fight he came back to his finishing ways when he ran through the powerful striker Dick Pound and finished him in the very first round. This well rounded martial artist loves to stand and trade but doesn’t mind taking the fight to the ground either, this makes him a tough nut to crack for any fighter and a natural favorite to win.

Get ready to board the Hamed hype train as Ahsan Hamed looks to wear two belts at the same time. This British social media addict loves to create some buzz and he just became a two time Omega featherweight champion. Instead of looking for his first successful defense he’s aiming a lot higher as he boldly challenges the undefeated lightweight champion, Morrison Lee. After unsuccessfully defending his featherweight belt the first time, a rematch wasn’t in order as the newly crowned champion Vyrkyx Dall vacated the title. Instead Hamed took on Johnny Vegas to regain his title. Ahsan definitely prefers to stand up as he’s had some trouble on the ground in the past, but that hasn’t stopped him from coming right back up.

Co-main event:

170 lbs - Russell Northrop (6-0) Vs Patrick Cleary (10-3)

When the dominant phenom Kevin Osterman vacated the welterweight title, a power vacuum was created. Looking to fill the void are the undefeated bully - Russell Northrop – and making his promotional debut, the dangerous submission artist known as the border fox - Patrick Cleary.

From Bullworth Town, USA the bully looks to extend his winning streak and make a clear statement to the rest of the division that nobody will be stopping this bully any time soon. Standing tall with a height of one meter and eighty centimeters, he will have a clear height and reach advantage. The bully prides himself with being well rounded, having finished fights both standing and on the ground. The bully will be looking to live up to his name again as he’ll want to dominate wherever he wants the fight to take place.

Currently residing in New York, the Irish Patrick Cleary just saw his three fight winning streak snapped while challenging for his former org’s welterweight title. To satisfy his lust for the gold he’ll be looking to take the bully down to the ground in his promotional debut and go back home a champion. Don’t consider him a one trick pony though, ground fighting may be his bread and butter but he’s no stranger to the stand up either. He might want to soften the bully up with strikes before dragging him down and finishing him off.

205 lbs - Sergey Beznisko (7-3) Vs Ja Wuan Robinson (9-3)

A classic striker Vs grappler fight as both light heavyweights look to stand at the top of the food chain. In one corner Russian vicious ground and pound specialist Sergey was unable to walk away with the light heavyweight belt in his promotional debut against the current champion and knockout artist Zeph Frazier. Even so he proved himself a worthy challenger by overcoming adversity and surviving all five rounds. Sergey will be looking to redeem himself and put his wrestling to use. In the other corner, promotional newcomer and self-proclaimed superstar Ja Wuan has some serious power in his hands and will be looking to put down his opponents with strikes before being taken down. Ja Wuan will want to extend his current two fight winning streak and make some waves by overcoming his tough opponent.

265 lbs - Kimbo Slice (5-1) Vs Quetzal Montezuma (3-2)

The super heavyweight title is on the line as the dark killer will look to defend his title for the very first time against the new number one contender. Kimbo is primarily known as a boxer and is riding an impressive five fight winning streak. In the cage he lets his fists do the talking and he will want to prove himself a worthy champion as he won the belt thanks to a cut against former champion Ueda Umanouke. Should Kimbo and Ueda both win their next fights, a rematch will probably be in order. Looking to spoil the plans for a rematch is Quetzal Montezuma, a Mexican native currently residing in London. Quetzal came up short when he challenged former champion Ueda for the title but came back strong by grinding out a victory against the well-rounded Mark Strong. He's coming off a win so the pressure is off and he'll be able to perform to the best of his abilities when he faces the newly crowned super heavyweight champion.

Will Morrison Lee continue his reign of terror in front of his home crowd or will Ahsan Hamed pull off the upset and walk away a two division champion? At least one new champion will be crowned and much more. Don’t miss Omega’s Caged Rage.
